I was excited to see the Intrepid as well, but it is difficult to evaluate without knowing the price. It is hard to imagine recommending this over the Cutter, Avenger, or Nomad.
Needs a S5 but it’s a bit off, not so much Intrepid but Interbred. I feel they’re going to price it too high. It would probably look a lot better if they moved the cockpit back. With inflation I think they’ll put it near the Titan and it will be a mess there.
IMO we should get variants all should come W/1 S5 weapon, 1med shield and med quantum fuel tank. (except the starter) Like a bounty hunter ship, it should have the cargo area on one side be a cryo bed for captured bounties. Another variant could be a medrunner with med beds, where cargo is now. There could be many more variants, like a torpedo ship with 4 S5, 2 on each side where cargo is or even a bomber varent. All variants should have a higher cost, than the starter. This ship has a lot of potential if CIG handles it right.
I'm curious about the range compared to a Cutter Rambler and Syulen. I like the idea of this as a ship to get from a to b as well as a courier ship. I'm not sure I'd buy it for real cash, but it is a very interesting option! I think data running could be a neat variant of this ship: they could make the cargo areas server racks instead.
This will most likely be the same kind of price as the Syulen. I think they are probably trying to put out a higher tier of starter ship to tempt new players to spend more than just 50 bucks. I like it and if I didn't know much about the game then I'd probably either get this, the cutter, Titan or the Syulen
CIG new pre Nerf policy, don’t worry about having fun with this ship CIG has saved you three to 5 months of having a good time. With new pre nerfed technology. Yes oh yes CIG has turned what may have been a very capable ship into a casket. You won’t have to worry about defending yourself, You won’t have to worry about enemies because you will be dead in record time. Put away those thoughts of Hope and just roll over and meet your maker, Spawn back had a station and spend another hour of getting ready to go out and die again. Have fun citizens.
It's not just weird, it's fucking ugly and it's a complete violation of Crusader design. _ZERO_ Crusader ships have asymmetrical cockpits. You can't have an offset cockpit on a ship with high roll rates because it magnifies the G-force on the pilot. Roll too fast clockwise and you black out. Roll too fast counter-clockwise and you die of an aneurysm. And designing the whole ship around its one gun and then giving it a pitiful single S3 with a shockingly weak capacitor means that it's outgunned by both the Dragonfly and the Pulse. It's just embarrassing. It's a Mustang Alpha/Beta competitor and isn't even as good as a Cutter, so we should expect it to be in the $25-40 range. Right? Once you get to $45, the Cutter is better in every way. Once you get higher _everything_ is better than the Intrepid. As a Crusader-lover, I was so excited to have finally have a Crusader starter. I don't need it, I have at least one of every Crusader ship and my daily drivers are my 400i and my 600i. So I'm good... but I was excited. Now I'm just disappointed.

This could have been a baby ion but if it is actually 45 or 50 bucks I think new players might still consider it

Yes with all those things it could still be really cool because it does have a pretty nice interior

Another good point! most starters have different versions and a data running or combat version would be pretty cool

I hope its cheaper but its is pretty big lol

Yeah I know a pre nerf is crazy lol
There is a Crusader tax. I think this ship sells for 60-65$ CIG will buff gun to S4 but it really needs an S5
it got a s4 gun 2 days ago :D
This is prob going to be $60-70. No thanks. Maybe if they make a cool variant
I hope its below 50
Me too lol

That's a really good point about the cockpit, a lot of odd decisions with the design indeed
I really want to like this ship... But nah...
