I’m not married to a Filipino, but she’s from Thailand.
I see the importance of culture and language for our 5 year old son, and I tell my wife to only speak Thai to him.
He understand Thai and responds sometimes in Thai, but mostly in Norwegian.
My mother in law visited us for 9 months in Norway, and my sons Thai became good, and that made me so happy ❤
He held a conversation in Thai with he’s grandmother, an that was so great to see.
He speaks both Thai, little bit of English, and Norwegian now, and that is so important.

this is so important, I'm Filipino and Thai and my parents didn't teach me their language at all. So I'm now (not easily) studying to learn both languages + the language of medicine. It's so difficult and it's taking me a really long time but I'll get there eventually.

Great vlog guys! Jared, what you said about forgetting a language due to non frequent use, the Germans call it "verlernen" meaning to unlearn something. Kailangan ko mag practice ng Tagalog. Gusto kong matutong nagsasalita ng Tagalog. I probably expressed that wrong, but I think you get what I mean. Pinoy ako, pero ipinganak ako dito sa U.S. at lumaki ako sa California. Giulia will enjoy the Philippines. So much to see and do there. Nagpunta ako sa Pinas in 1981 with the U.S. Air Force. I just wish I had learned to communicate in Tagalog back then, but everyone spoke Kapamgpangan. Salamat po sa video!! Giulia, best wishes!!

The term "chinelas" came into use in the Philippines in the early 1900s, which is antiquated Spanish. Nowadays the term Chancletas or Chanclas is used in Spain to mean Flip-flops usually only worn for beachwear. The "pantufla" is what is commonly used in Spanish households which looks more like a carpet sandal that covers the toes instead of the "chinelas" or "tsinelas." 😄
Actually, we never use Halo-halo as a meal by itself. But more of as a meryenda (snack) or as a dessert. Nowadays, we eat it more as a food item inside a fastfood restaurant.

It's so sad to see that this girl was raised in Canada instead of Malta or the Philipines, which are both such warm and viberant countires. But Canda is such a cold and depressiong place, with a very strange, liberal culture and corrupt goverment.
I'm Filipino but I disagree. Philippines is also a corrupt and dirty country. I think Canada is better in terms of lifestyle and wages
Dude she has interracial parents, but she cant communicate in Tagalog, However she wants to learn and have knowledge of her Filipino Culture, You dont have to speak tagalog to connect to People. Philippines has 111 dialects, she is more Westernize! English is her first language. Its an ego thing, what do you speak if an Ilocano or people from other Provinces owns a store in Canada? of course you speak English not tagalog, since it is supposed to be a national language, however I mention 111 dialects comes to mind!
Hahaha even though the country lost its citizen, its their prerogative because of these migration who adapt the culture they were belong, it does not a big deal for the pilipino, generation are changing in a modern world and in the long run, thier identity and opportunity will lost everything completely for the country and its only a matter of heritage that make sense and definitely you are completely strange when you delves into the culture
