I think it was great the lady at 4:27 continued to speak English after learning you speak Tagalog and you continued to speak it. Makes her feel comfortable and she can practice, and knows you can help her in her own language if she makes a mistake. The best way to learn is to speak it with a native speaker and don't be afraid to make mistakes and be open minded and willing to let them help you. The one thing she should realize though, is most of the foreigners coming there are older, learning an entire language with so many different dialects isn't so easy, their brains are already full.

There are Tagalog that would mean totally different when pronounced differently/slow or fast! Like "puno", aso..,
Grabe yong ilongga nung una ha...ang tindi ng mga sinabi. Marunong din kc aq mag ilonngo eh. First language ko cebuano/leyteño, then english, tagalog, hiligaynon and kinaray-a. 60% waray², 5% aklanon, 20% ilocano an can understand bicolano and epañol. Heheh

I still can't get over how we're all shocked to see a "foreign" face speak a different language to what he/she is perceived to speak. I know that's actually the case here and of course I love Joshua's videos because he's definitely worked really hard at Tagalog but we, as humans, have got to stop being closed-minded. There are probably thousands of white and blacks who were born and grew up in the Philippines where Tagalog was their native language. It's not outside the realms of possibility and the more you think about it considering how many people there are on this earth the reaction of when this happens seems so naive.
Anyway gonna stop ranting. Love the videos. Cheers.
