One of the tips I was given by a mother-tongue Italian was to read a book in your target language that you’ve already read in English. It’s not speaking, but it does really help improve vocabulary and comprehension. :)

I’m amazed to see people like you. Spanish is my native language, so it’s easy for me to get Italian faster because of the similarities. But for an English speaker is harder because is completely different to Italian. That’s gives me so much motivation to start learning Italian. Keep it up.

It's not really completely different - there are around 5000 words which are very similar and that gives you a good start. Italian is regarded as one of the very easiest languages for English natives. Of course learning any language is a big undertaking, but Italian is easier than most.

I was only a few months old when my Italian speaking grandfather passed away, and after that my family completely threw away any relations we had to our culture and it’s so upsetting. I have nothing to relate to my ancestors like my parents and past generations did. No one else can fluently speak it, but I still feel so fake and feel like I have no background. So I’m trying to at least learn the language to try and build connections again:((

Wudda pensi? ;-)

I thought English was enough.. then Boom I got shocked cz the majority cannot speak English and I found it difficult to make mates etc.. last year I went there to study literature but I was obliged to study Italian with English .. And I got shocked again ..!!! Guess what.?. Because I couldn't speak italian and I was awful at it ... I decided to come back to Morocco and study Literature at the University in Morocco.. I quite regret cz I decided to come back .. I still have to stay here like two years from now until I graduate so I can move again to Italy to study master or wutever.. it's been one month and a half since decided to learn Italian.. Now I reach A2 in italian and my objective is to reach B2 by June..so I can at least go there in summer and get a job or at least make friends and enjoy.. daaamn !! Some of the "adult shows" you mention make a strong use of regional dialects/accents, so it's not uncommon to have italian subtitles for italian public. Without subtitles (and it happens) some of those shows are difficult, albeit doable, for anyone apart natives of that specific region (i.e. people from Rome/Lazio/Rome speaking of Suburra).

Ciao, bel video! Buon studio! Ciao

I actually started learning English by watching cartoons! Oh my God yeah! Now that I look back, I was a grownup woman with no children at that time, watching "Super readers" and stuff like that 😊 now my new goal is for me and my son to learn Italian as our third language. Thank you for your video and congratulations on your subscriptions. God bless you.
