I own a 72 Overlander, Spent about two years in restoration, fridge, oven, stove, AC all original. Updated structure, rear end separation, new plumbing updated to 60 amp converter, etc. Owned her for 8 years now, and used her a lot. I've watched probably all of the "commercial" videos out there, but this video tour was the best one I've ever seen! What a fantastic job you've done on your Sovereign, excellent use of space, wonderfully detailed in the video descriptions, and inspirational! Thank you!

Lived for 2 years in a converted wheel chair van while I went to college. Got my degree and now I live on top of a 30 story High Rise building. The thing I miss the most is the freedom to take my home with me on my adventures. You have the most important trait you can possibly have. The pioneer spirit and a positive attitude. I teach English in Vietnam at the moment. It's kind of funny. Now I live in my little Eagles nest on top of the world but I'm saving to build another Van or tour bus. One thing is for sure. I envy you. I don't need fancy things, only a way to live free. Okay, maybe I do need some fancy things like a drone and solar power but hey you got to have some comforts of life right? Cheers!
What an incredible labour of LOVE. Now I see all the brilliance behind the AIRSTREAM design details…wow they thought of everything. I love how they disappear on the landscape. Very low footprint. That aluminium craftsmanship is superb . I don’t think you could find a better talent to achieve yr results. Your a lucky man having such incredible parents and family of your own. My Grandmother had a “ringer” and hung her clothes on line since the late ‘70’s. My percent bought her a washer and she bought the dryer. I have friends who love hanging clothes on the line to dry, they say they love the process.

Oh my your home is absolutely gorgeous. I love this. I just found your channel. We own a home in Jefferson County West Virginia ( 40 miles from Washington D.C) but my hubby and I moved too Texas last February and I love it. I talked my husband into buying me a 5th wheel, I am selling giving away so much stuff lol I don't miss things. My hubby took a job transfer, I am done working ( I have been a nurse 35 year's) C-19 18, 24 hour shifts just wore my mentality out. God bless and love your home.

This was so amazing and enjoyable...how you must have spent hours and hours...days and months even, planning every tiny detail because you certainly seem to have thought about everything. While you were 'touring' the kids sleeping area I became more and more alarmed wondering..."Where's all the clothes???" But you got to it in the very last segment..thank goodness haha. Great job and such an education on the road the kids are getting..unforgettable stuff that will stick with them for a lifetime.

This is a wonderful tour of the re-done Airstream. So many features in so small a space. I'm very impressed how beautiful it turned out. I love the fantastic fans you put on and how the antenna works. Nice pacement of the solar panels and all the solar power equipment and wiring. I'm glad you fixed all the running portions of the trailer. All the new axels, tires and lift kits are such a good idea to make new. My sister was very hurt when their RV tire blew and they rolled into the highway median at 75 miles per hour. Not good! Nice that you went with an electric freezer/refrigerator. If you have propane you have to make sure you are exactly level or it doesn't work so well. I love the sleeping spaces and all the bathroom arrangement. I never knew you could have a shower pole that could be moved in and out. It does look very homey and I'm so glad you got to bring the ruler from your house with you. I love all the stickers on the door and walls of all the places you visited. I like the home office. Amazing job on your tiny shiny home!

Hey guys I'm a new subscriber because I just saw you on "my little homestead" and I liked what I saw. I used to have a 1962 Airstream and it was all original. Halfway through the restoration we got a chance to buy a nice piece of property on the Oregon coast 800 feet from the water and built a house. I sold the Airstream and a fithwheel trailer we were living in to build the house. I wish I still had it. Lol I am trying to go back and watch all of your earlier videos and see the process you went through to redo your Airstream and the sandbag house that you are in the middle of. Keep the videos coming and I'll keep watching then.
As I only discovered you all a couple of months ago, I am checking your early days! The kids have grown and I am thankful to find, for me, the back story!! Great renovation and it is fantastic at my 7+decades to see tiny, loving living.
Why not add some heavy duty velco strips behind the tv on the wall and wrap it around the tv to secure it. The really wide ones. You can use E6000 glue and they will not go anywhere! This way you won't have to remove it and take a chance of it sliding off the seat. :) I hope I explained it to where you can see how this would benefit you guys. Very nice place!

Lovely trailer but you are just running from your responsibilities, you're a bumb. You're poor kids don't have friends or school. Get a job and buy a house like a normal person and when your kids have grown then be selfish and travel.

You have a learn to live with only what you absolutely need and I think this minimalism that you have is certainly something that is also bringing a lot of happiness. TIny convertible spaces don't work for most people for the same old reason... you have to convert them all the time. The history of the world is full of all sorts of things (exercise equipment, shopsmith 5, power tools, etc.) that ended up failing because it's a PITA to keep converting stuff every time you need to do something different with it. What amazes me is that a lot of people watch these videos and think the flexibility is amazing. But that's kind of short-sighted. I'm a bit of a realist/pessimist, in that I watch these videos and think, "Ah man, I gotta move my crap out of the way every time I use that thing." LOL. Having said that, I really really like the cabinet design. That's pretty cool. And that fridge is really nice for it size.
We love the flexibility of having multifunctional spaces. But you’re right. After 3+ years it does get old converting our table to our bed. But it’s a small price to pay for the freedom this life gives us.

Thanks Michael! Yeah the organization on those electronics was a highlight for me, too. I love it! We have a 7.5 cubic foot fridge and plenty of counter space and pantry space. So far so good!

Well thought out ideas there. I like the fold down bed backings. Glad to see a water filter being used. Oh, and I use Norwex cloths, too. They work really well on metal surfaces as well.
Total fan thanks for sharing the way to prevent leaks where rivets are is some clear silicone a grade of course That's what I used to use when I built dust and fume control systems Should make for much easier sailing down the road absolutely gorgeous thank you for sharing With pipes for instance when you rivet them prior to welding the two edges are overlapped with clear silicone applied in between no need to spread out just make a long line the sheets pressing on each other will flatten it out to perfect seal so don't mess with it Then wet the corner of a cloth and run it down and along the edges so it's convex throw the cloth away Perfect seal easy to maintain

Fantastic, the electric and electronics make me so jealous. The whole project screams for more info. Wonderful layout, fit and finish! One question though, you have 4 growing children, WHERE IS THEIR FOOD?!?!?!?
Thanks Michael! Yeah the organization on those electronics was a highlight for me, too. I love it! We have a 7.5 cubic foot fridge and plenty of counter space and pantry space. So far so good!

Well thought out ideas there. I like the fold down bed backings. Glad to see a water filter being used. Oh, and I use Norwex cloths, too. They work really well on metal surfaces as well.

Total fan thanks for sharing the way to prevent leaks where rivets are is some clear silicone a grade of course
That's what I used to use when I built dust and fume control systems
Should make for much easier sailing down the road absolutely gorgeous thank you for sharing
With pipes for instance when you rivet them prior to welding the two edges are overlapped with clear silicone applied in between no need to spread out just make a long line the sheets pressing on each other will flatten it out to perfect seal so don't mess with it
Then wet the corner of a cloth and run it down and along the edges so it's convex throw the cloth away
Perfect seal easy to maintain
