Because movies have a time limit, they can't spend weeks doing just one scene perfectly or the projects would delay. They do the best they can with the time and the money they have at disposition (because obviously the employees will do a better animation with more economical motivation) , so these kind of animations are better looking because they had much more time to do something small so the effort they put into it is bigger and therefore the results are way more amazing, but if these animations would last longer (like movies) either the quality would become lower or they would took YEARS to be finished My first language is not English, sorry if I made mistakes 😊

some of the girls..? they littetally all had the same face and body with different hairstyles, but think it was mainly about the movement an storytelling instead of modeling so it's not bad, but most 3D girls kinda look like clones with different color schemes
Unless the princess is supposed to come across as arrogant, it wouldn't really work in a children's movie. It would feel like body-shaming. Like a handsome prince rejecting a maiden for being too fat.

Mine are from class 4 (introduction to acting) and 6 (polishing and portfolio). We don't do short films,as the goal is to learn animation and secondary goal to make animations for our demo reels :)

Waiting for the day these animators just create their own movie. Maybe we will finally have a new disney competitor. Of course, it will probably take 3-4 years to create a decently lengthed movie with this level of quality and time put into such short scenes.

Good Job! The South Americans once again make everything seems so fluid and emotional. Thank you for crediting the sound and lighting was done by other people. The showreels of past gave off the students did it all.
Yeah, we did this as a collaborative production. Students did all the animation and we had a small team of AM Alumni and others work via Artella to do the lighting and comp. Directed by Tim Rudder. A whole new approach for us this year to bring lots of talents together and we're stoked on the result.
oh my goodness! these have improved so much since 2015! makes me want to learn animation myself! the animation is so fluid, the facial movements--they actually look like they're saying the words! so much effort put into these i'm stunned

This honestly looked waaaay better than a lot of the completed films we see in the cinemas today. Definitely want to see more completed film work from 'these students' in the future.
These students have exceptional mentors, many who work at places like Disney & Pixar. They can really help them reach this level of animation. Of course the students who produce this work are only being guided by the mentors and the students themselves have to put in all the hard work to produce this amazing quality.

They look the same cause it’s focused on animation, not modeling. Modeling the character is different from animation in 3D.
