  • Home Style Bengali or Bangladeshi traditional Chicken Curry.
    This can be prepared easily by following my step by step instructions.
    INGREDIENTS:
    Oil - 3 tbsp
    One Whole Baby Chicken, cut and washed
    2 Onions chopped
    Garlic Ginger paste - 2 tsp
    Bayleaves x 4
    Cinnamon sticks x 4
    Cardamom x 4
    Star Anise
    Salt - 1-2 tsp
    Chilli Powder - 1.5 tsp
    Curry Powder - 1 tsp
    Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
    Garam Masala - 1 tsp
    Fas Furon (5 spices) - 1 tsp
    Coriander chopped - half a cup
    INSTRUCTIONS:
    - Pour oil in a saucepan and let that heat up
    - Add in the chopped onions, garlic ginger paste, salt, bayleaves, cinnamon, cardamom and star anise
    Let it simmer for 5 mins and adding water in between
    - Add the powders i.e chilli, curry, turmeric, garam masala and fas furon
    Let it simmer for 15-20 mins stirring at frequent intervals and scraping the burned masala at the bottom of pan
    - Add in the chicken pieces
    (Note: The baby goes in last due to its tenderness. If you are using an older chicken, then put it in at the start)
    Let that cook for around 20-30 mins and stirring at frequent intervals. Add some more water in the middle
    - Garnish with the chopped coriander
    Serve with rice

    Cooked your lamb curry last week and made the chicken one this week - both were outstanding! You got the best curry recipes on RUclips and I've tried lots so I'd know! The only recipes that tastes properly authentic bangladeshi

    I am numpty! Can you do some videos on the equipment you need and why? I guess certain pots are designed for specific uses and assume materials make all the difference. And a videos on the ingredients and why you use them? I know very little about cooking. Also a video of where you learnt to cook would be great!

    Thanks for the easy to follow and well explained video! Question, if I want to add aloo, when should I add it, during the last twenty minutes?

    • @simpletastydishes4309
      @simpletastydishes4309  Год назад +1

      Yes you should add aloo at the same time as the baby chicken or last 20-30mins

    Didn’t you put salt in ?, or was it on the spice plate, and don’t you put salt on the onions so it breaks down

    • @simpletastydishes4309
      @simpletastydishes4309  5 месяцев назад

      It was on the spice plate 5 mins after onion simmering.
      You can put the salt with the chopped onions which I actually normally do. It was put with the spices, just to make it easier.
