Awesome. Not overdone. Outstanding guitar work while singing. Dylan himself was not singing and playing simultaneously in the studio when this track was recorded. This holds true for all his studio albums. He always has an excellent player playing guitar (Mike Bloomfield, Robbie Robertson, Kevin Odegard, Mark Knopfler, etc).

Best cover ever. Better than my own. A poet like McMurtry really gets the rhythm and meter of Dylan. Not everybody can do that.

Check out the version on "Postcards from the Hanging" by the Grateful Dead. My favorite version, although this is tied, really- totally different sound/vibe, but both are tops. Hope you enjoy both as much as I do.

Such a sleeve of imagery. Sung by another potent songwriter. Shit I'm going break out the wax paper and my comb and try to catch up. Thank you.

What does that mean, re: wax paper & comb?

@@ResearchSoundLab So it's research? Wax paper over comb. Like a Harmonica it gives a humming sound. Kid stuff. Cheers.

Does anyone know the tuning? It appears to be double drop D (D-A-D-G-B-D) but doesn't seem to work for me. I'll keep working but hope someone knows for sure. He may have it tuned down a half step as well. He uses a lot of different tunings, and is a very accomplished guitarist especially on the 12 string.
