Nice sounding Gibson. Nice job on Dylan. I met Dylan back in the early 70s he was hanging out with Kris Kristofferson back during his Billy the Kid time. I’m 70 years old now. Everything is still good. My avatar picture is me playing my 1937 Martin 0-17 I bought for $20 back in 1970. Gods gifts just happens. Enjoy your time
It's great to watch different musicians get their Bob Dylan on. It's one of the gifts Bob has given us. Great playable songs and a certain style set forth to emulate if we want to, or add whatever of ourselves to the mix.
As a kid in Scotland, Bob changed my life nearly 60 years. Who'da thunk that this Virgil dude would help keep me alive so many years later. It was the video of Watchin' the River Flow, with his dog on background vocals, that literally saved my life one day. I was thinking of going down there three times, but only coming up twice. God bless this kid. Phil
This is a totally awesome cover. Desolation Row is Dylan's best song and in my opinion the best song ever written. I'm so glad I found your rendition of it.
I've commented before, and I will comment again. This surpasses boundaries unforseen as far as covers go. Absolute and unachievable genius. I shall now retire my guitar, and my voice - safe in the knowledge that I will never achieve this level of greatness.
Live 1966! Right on man! Nice! i usually don't make it through the whole video of covers but i stayed for the end of this one! Noticed the poka dot shirt too!
Excellent job! A long time favorite of mine since it’s 60’s release and perhaps THE favorite. I do in drop C capo 4 but this sounds great as played and authentically covered. Voicing is dylanesque for sure. Love your covers of Mr. D.
Yes! Thank you! Good cover. This is exACTly what I too used to do, in like '66: to sing epic-feeling stuff like this, of course including this, when I was a teenager stuck in the Manhattan apartment I grew up apart in, to get me out of that closed space headwise for awhile. (I'm sure Bobby D-that's Dylan, not Darin-did this too.) I also had a Gibson. This song is the kind of stuff that pulls you through. (And after it does, you look around and say, "How did I get here?") Has Dylan heard it (yet)? I just played along with this, and it was great fun. Thanks again: you're definitely on the Virge!
Hello! Very well done! Thank you very much! Wonderful cover! It must be difficult to perform such a song without looking at the lyrics! I have problems remembering lyrics, I don't know how to properly keep the lyrics in my head/memorize the lyrics! Great guitar sound, the voice sounds very appropriate! Good harmonica playing! Have a nice day! Greetings from Germany!
I’ll tell you the day I memorized this song changed everything for me. I never thought I’d be able to. And once I got this one down I never had trouble again. The memory’s like a muscle.
I like how you deliver these Dylan verses strong, You probably checked it out, but the dead do this song to perfection on the Downhill from Here Alpine Valley version.
Another good one Virgil. Thanks for the performance. You should get more views and likes. Love to see a bit more from Desire. Joey and Hurricane are great stories, right up your street I reckon.
Try to make sure you keep the guitar neck in the frame so we can see the chords your playing. For fun, let’s see you do the version from My Chemical Romance.

Thanks! I love Desire. I want to make a play or a puppet show with live music of the whole thing.
This is what I needed, this song just got me off Desolation Row
@
Diego Debunks This song will do that...
I enjoyed this. Thanks. Are you in standard tuning, mate?
Drop d
What did you use to record this? I’m curious, because the sound quality is pretty good.
Thanks! Just my iPhone.

Hey man, that's so great! Is there any tutorial you recommend for me to be able to play it?
Thanks! If you find me on Facebook or Instagram I can try to help you out.

What an awful version. Listen to Francesco De Gregori and Fabrizio De Andre and you will understand.
