In this video I go over the creation of Frostmourne and how it was used to manipulate Arthas and create the new Lich King. I also explain how Frostmourne was shattered and how in World of Warcraft: Legion those shards will be used to forge 2 new death knight artifacts, Icebringer and Frostreaper.

It was originally stated The Litch King forged frostmourne, then the burning legion, now it’s supposedly made in the maw... next we’ll hear Old Blanchy made it in a past life.

AzurenGamer the DK players will never become the lich king. Just like how races of different factions will never change allegiance. It's stopped by the way World of Warcraft works.

You cannot be sure that Ashbringer is stronger than Frostmourne, since Tirion clearly asks for help of the light. It might empower Ashbringer?

@@nickname9351 yes... I mean if you think of it most great paladins/priests ask the light for help in their time of needs... But arthas didn't... He was consumed by his vengeance which is the every opposite of the teachings of the paladin
Wasn't it more the "power of the light" that shattered Frostmourne?
You forgot to mention that when Tirion Fordring shattered the blade, he was infused with the light. With a blessing Tirion never have had before. I don't think the Ashbringer could have done that without it. ps: Tirion came from behind so Arthas couldn't see him coming(rip)

If you are that put down by the graphics (although they haven't aged nearly as bad as some other games of the time), you can try the Armies of Azeroth Mod. It uses the Starcraft II engine and entirely new handmade assets to recreate the entire Warcraft 3 campaign.
And the guys behind it are just awesome.

You see Frostmourne, you think "this is a so freaking good looking sword, one of the best" you see Ashbringer, you think "what is this awful creation" and when Ashbringer shatters Frostmourne you think "uglyness always prevails"...
P.S. Frostmourne and El'druin are the most good looking swords in video games industry for me. If merge Frostmourne's blade with El'druin's hilt then the Excalibur awakes

When Arthas kills mal'ganis he mentions hearing Frostmourne, which Mal'Ganis essentially clarifies as "The Dark Lord of the Dead" ......Would it be possible that Ner'zhul was not actually doing anything but Zo'Vahl manipulating both of them in order to form an Ego that he COULD use?
I.E the voice in the blade is Zo'Vahl and only after being driven to mental instability does he don the helm and merge his mind and body with Ner'Zhul. and since he never actually talked to Ner'zhul just assumed the Jailer WAS the Lich King.

Wish you would've done the lore of the spirits inside the weapon (from Bolvar's leaked voice files) like Baelgun, Magroth and Gavinrad. Nice video as always, though :D

What is the story of Frostmourne before arthas, did Nerzul cary it???
The video mentions it, it was simply created by the Nathrezim to control the Lich King, and was incased in the ice together with the Lich King himself from the beginning, until the Lich King cast it off into Northrend for Arthas to find.

+Bingfish It still kind of unknown, since the information we have is very limited at the moment. Hopefully in Legion it should be explained. The way I see them is almost like warlocks but instead of tapping into fel, they tap into the void.

I wonder does the Scourge effect the fel entities and if so would the Scourge be as effective on the Burning Legion as it is to beings of Azeroth?
+Primarch Alpharius I don't think it was ever specified. I don't believe demons can be turned into undead, at least as a part of the scourge.

The bulk of the Legion comes from enslaved races and since the scourge effects green Orcs then would it not work on some of the Legion?
+Primarch Alpharius Would most likely work on the fleshy ones, like succubs, and the basic footmen. But not dreadlords and infernals.
