One of the regrets of my career and life was not testing myself attempting selection. I was recommended to apply and actively encouraged by my OC & RSM. Even got as close as speaking with a member who came to discuss it face to face with a coupe of us in a theatre. I was extremely fit (fittest in my unit) but mentally much stronger than i was physically. That for me would've been the ultimate mental test. I've achieved all goals i've ever set my mind to. Sadly due to s chest infection at the wrong time. I didn't get to test myself beyond my own breaking point.
I completed two nzsas selection courses and can say on the 2nd selection course the final 60 km route march at end is and still ranks as hardest thing physically ever done period.
I think Micks brilliant, I was waiting to see how long it would take for him to say "if that makes sense " closely followed by bizarrely!!He didn't disappoint.Great, super experienced guy,if that makes sense??😅👍👍
I think its good to see that the ethos towards both preparation and body functioning is evolving these days. Going over the known routes isnt a new thing of course but I met a bunch of Gurkhas on top of Pen Y fan a few weeks back and had a great chat with them. I was kinda celebrating my 50 years in mountaineering with a trip back to the beacons and a climb on Lundy (regret route) with a couple of Ex Royal good mates of mine including one who had just become the oldest guy to to ski to the south pole unsupported. In my own mind i linked one to the other... Preparation, mind set, anatomy, physiology... to those seeking this challenge? Two words... 'Avoid Injury'
I think that was Robin Horsefall and there's plenty of interviews with him on the net. I'm pretty sure if you just type in his name you'll get a result,if not Google him.He also wrote a good book called fighting scared.Hes had a very varied military career.Good luck.😊
Hi can you do a vid on how to train selection in terms of tracking speed and distance with gps watch get used to it then with map and compass be useful vid for all - great vids

Indeed. There are Swedish & Danish troops in hotels around Thetford because they have a 4-year contract to train Ukrainian recruits in the UK !! I know a hotel owner with a 4 year contract so i guess that fake war is not ending any time soon. 500k + Ukrainian casualties so far
There are plenty of Isis and Al-Qaeda troops staying in our hotels funded by the previous and current government which essentially means paid for by us!😢😡👋👍

@@step1drag1dwnunda , are you associating that quality with IQ? The term 'cognitive intelligence' is often referenced to the concept.
