- Hello everyone! BGC (Bonifacio Global City) Taguig Philippines is one of the safest, cleanest, and most modern city in Philippines. It is definitely one of the best places to visit when traveling to the Philippines. This modern city rivals other advanced cities across Southeast Asia. If you like to have the conveniences and amenities, BGC will surprise you. Most, but not all, people from big cities in America (and other countries) may feel at home here.

Love hearing your perspectives on BGC and how it compares with other major modern cities. I live in San Fran and even on the best of days, this city is still not as clean, orderly, and organized compared to how they manage BGC. I commend the people running that area and hopefully be able to replicate this approach on other parts of the country.

BGC is not a real city as the name suggests. It is only a 2.5km2 business lifestyle district or barangay 1 of 28 in the city of Taguig with a population of 11k. There are areas in, around BGC and in Taguig that some may want to avoid. E.g. ChocNut is a popular local candy here. It's made of chocolate and peanuts, hence the name. I doubt if they gave it to put in the coffee. 😁

It's so nice thatyou have chosen the area you want to live in. My sister is a dual citizen and stays at BGC when she goes to th Philippines. I have a half sister that lives in BGC. By the way, I think they just opened an IN and OUT burger in BGC and I heard it's very popular as here in California were lucky I can just go locally. Love your video👍😁
Yes we plan to be here for a year minimum and we’d love to be able to purchase a place here but also build a home in the province at the same time. It’s our plan but also God’s plan too, so we will see what he has in store for our family.
This boy really knows how to appreciate Fil breakfast & it's nice looking at him devouring his food 😋. Btw, in some resto, breakfast menu is served whole day bcuz its a comfort food to most Fils.

Glad to see your footages around BGC. BGC is relatively a more upscale, newer neighborhood. I like visiting Market Market before since it was more convenient for me to go there than Greenhills in San Juan. Hope you can explore more around Metro Manila, but do bear in mind to always keep safety in mind. Just like in Cali there are good areas and not so good areas, especially once you are outside BGC area. Stay safe and keep on vlogging! 🥰

"Homeless people" are as unheard of as "nursing homes" in the Philippines. The reason why the Philippines has such an enormous variety of food is that the country, like Mexico, was once under Spanish occupation. On top of that, they were also under American and Japanese occupations, and there is a large community of Chinese. Equally as significant is that Filipinos are quite cosmopolitan in mentality. I miss the food there so much. Good video. 😄

@@alroberts193 Just so there is no misunderstanding, let me qualify what this video and I mean by "homelessness." I am guessing the host of Livin La Vida lived in California as I do, which is why I recognize the cities she visited to do food reviews.
Aside from the obvious meaning of the word, homeless people here in Los Angeles can be seen anywhere, with tens of thousands of them all over the state. Livin La Vida even showed video footage of their life in Los Angeles. You could identify them through their makeshift shelters in random places, seemingly abandoned by society. Can anyone in the Philippines be homeless? Of course. This can happen to anybody anywhere in the world. How society responds to them is where the differentiation lies.
If I had to guess, homeless people in the Philippines probably have recourse to their families and relatives willing to take them in instead of leaving them sprawled out in the streets like in western countries.
In my 20+ years of living in the Philippines before I emigrated to the U.S., I have *never* seen anything like what I see daily here in California. You sound like you have seen it in the Philippines, but I would claim such a sighting is few and far between.

Hi! I'm a Fil-Am living in L.A. I just returned from an 8-day visit to P.I. staying with family. I've been there several times before. Anyway, we checked out BGC and I was very impressed. All the doggies! My opinion about "guards" everywhere, every entrance, etc. is that they don't necessarily give me a feeling of security. I carried around a man-purse full of stuff and it was only inspected once. They wave the sensor wand around like they're swatting flies LOL. One guard at Green Hills was even acting as a salesman for one of the stalls. At least they're employed I guess. Metro Manila has definitely come a long way but there are things that still fall through the cracks.

I think BGC is probably the best place to settle in for foreigners since it's very modern and convenient. That is also if you can afford it. I'm hoping someday to love there as well. Only time will tell.

I think you're suppose to bite a bit of the chocnut and sip a bit of the coffee so the moisture of the warm coffee can help melt the chocnut in your mouth. It's so good.

Aaah that’s the resto that took over Chelsea Cafe’s spot. Food looks great! Would try it soon. Chelsea’s food was also good. I feel so sad it closed but there’s just too many options to eat from in Manila. Btw, you guys have to try their Farmer’s Table restaurant (Raintree group) in Tagaytay!

Great place to hang out on the weekends. We live just 30min away and try to get our kids there when they are free from school work. Very relaxing place though.

The convenience of everything ( restaurants, coffee shops, malls, bars, movie theaters, groceries, etc.) in BGC is the main reason we decided to buy a condominium unit. It feels like living in New York City and other big cities in the world.
It has so many conveniences 😊 I’m glad we chose this area to start our journey too!
