I live in Miami Beach, I wonder if it is like Miami? Bong-Bong Marcos, his sister, and Ferdinand & Imelda are heroes of mine. Imelda has fascinated me, since my boyhood in the 80's.
Love the truth at the end...Great wisdom Evan! Continue to share Jesus our Peace. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
My first time in the Philippines was in 2012 and I staid at the Luxe residence and it is just amazing how much the city has grown, it's literally unrecognizable from back then.
You know what Evan? I am so happy to hear you share your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ even in your blogs. That is something worth sharing in the midst of promoting living in BGC and surrounding provinces in the Phillippines. I'm a Filipino who lived and worked in the USA close to 35 years and beginning to retire here in the Philippines. I enjoy watching your blogs. I am getting ready to buy a condo in BGC since it's the closest representation of lifestyle we've been used to in the USA. I hope to find a good non-denominational church in the BGC area. God bless you. Praying that more people support and subscribed to your channel.
I stayed in BGC earlier this year for two months. I have decided to make BGC my home base for half the year when I start living in the Philippines. You are spot on with your analysis and budget projections. I always receive great content watching your videos. Lastly, thank you for sharing your testimony! God bless, brother!
i was in BGC for 2 months in 2022.i spent about 5000.a month for 2. Yes, I went out a lot.(no alcohol)however this is what I expect to spend without travel. I enjoyed it so very much.I will be there again in 60 days for 6 months. On a side note, I was injured and the hospital was excellent
True. BGC is one of the most expensive, safest and advanced cities in the Philippines. $2000 or less you might struggle (you have to factor in healthcare/medication too). Highly recommend to only live in BGC if you make $2500 - 3000 USD and above per month. BGC has everything a modern city has but it comes with a premium cost for all of that.
Evan, your speaking ability and confidence are terrific. You are highly likeable. Those traits have led to your success and will only grow your success in the future. I am blown away by how awesome BGC is, it's far and away #1. You did an amazing job, buddy.
Love your content. I’m also from Chicago and currently living in Forbestown. Really appreciate your accurate cost of living analysis and overview of everything. Other RUclipsrs drive me insane because it seems like they’re in this “refer a friend” program with the Philippines. Often exaggerating their lifestyle and cost of living, telling people they need to come here.
Thanks for sharing this video. I spent approximately 30-days in BGC in an AirBnb at Morgan Suites Residences in 2016. I enjoyed walking around visiting the American Cemetery and also viewing various murals there. A high school mate from Hawaii has been a pastor for Victory and every nation headquartered there near Market Market. I spend my time mostly in Baguio City and play some golf with fellow U.S. military retirees/veterans when I visit. Also I visit the Elk Lodge near Greenbelt during U.S. military birthdays recently attended the 75th Birthday of the U.S. Air Force. For U.S. military retirees/veterans, there’s U.S. veterans affairs clinic at Roxas BLVD next to the U.S. Embassy and veterans can be referred to St Luke or Medical City. Knowing all these definitely helps those considering relocating there. Again, thanks for sharing and God Bless!
Brother. THANK YOUUUUUU so much for this video. You have made my decision extremely easy for me. I'm MOVING TO THE BGC next year, tentatively, on June 19, 2024. This could be my home base while I travel the world. I love everything about it. It has everything I need. At this very moment, on July 18th, 2023, I'm in the 8th week of my last academic classes. I'll be starting my internship on Aug. 28th for mental health counseling. Once I complete that, I'll be working as a licensed associated mental health counselor ONLINE (Telemental Health). I'm so excited for this next chapter. However, I want to be as prepared as I possibly can for the move. I also heard that they're doing digital nomad visas! Financially, I'll be clearing 45-50K a year starting EASY. I seriously can't wait. I have wanted to change my life so bad. I have never had this level of focus on something in my entire life. The only "retiring" that I am doing is from living in the U.S. for the remainder of my days. No more rat race for me!!!! I want to maximize my life potential and leave a legacy for my family and the people I touch. This was seriously a mind-blowing video for me. Only 40K will have you living like a king!!!! It seems fake, but it's not. Thank you again.
If you are a cheapskate minimalist like me, I'll figure it out. I don't drink, smoke, or do anything crazy that would require me to spend a lot of money. I'll make it work! @@deadcell1
40k US Dollar is so much money in Philippines, the 1USDollar in Philippines is equivalent to 56 pesos as of today so it's a whooping 2,240,000 so it's 2 million plus pesos in Philippine Peso it's a very large money in Philippines to think that most products, foods, rent cost in Philippines are more more cheaper than any other countries in Asia
As someone who has lived here for about two years, I would say that BGC is the best place for expats to live in terms of accessibility and convenience to walk anywhere and at any time. I generally walk at 2 am without feeling anxious. On the other hand, you get sick easily here because it's small, and there isn't much to do. Moreover, it's always crowded people who come here to spend money dress very nicely, but those who live here (me) dress like homeless lol since It's close to my house, so if you need a quick supermarket run or have a craving just put on your pajamas. Everything is really expensive, especially groceries (5-6k per week)...
I really like that you are an American, with Filipino blood, that moved to the Philippines a few years ago and is now offering your top-notch perspective to Westerners! Had to stop the video here, because I seen a business called Pancake House. 🥞🤤😋. I need to snap out of my food coma now before I continue with your video. 😂
Clark Global City in the Province of Pampanga is the best alternative place to retire without too much worrying about your budget as a pensioner from abroad. Many real estate projects are preselling. From houses & Lots to high-end apartments to cozy condominiums, name it and they have it all.
Yup..another spot on video Evan! I liked how you ticked off the bucket list preferences in comparing costs. Hell, I expect my entertainment costs to rival my living costs, so it's very important you have the budget to support the life. But overall, you dollar will go much farther in the PI regardless of where you live. Evan - how about doing a compare and contrast video between BGC and Makati? Both are upscale, but Makati is a bit bigger and older. I would love to see an updated take on Makati!
I am still young!! ❤❤ I will be living in BGC.I am a very much city girl and country girl ❤❤❤The most important thing is Wi-Fi .I need the Wi-Fi work for the magazine 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I like you to know that with all the options for me to get to know the Philippines, I find your channel has the most realistic information. Yeah, I'm a retired person looking for a change, and so far, you have convinced me BGC is the place for me. Be very proud; you give great information. I may be contacting you when I am ready to ask questions. 🍸👍
Evan, please keep sharing the Gospel. You are not ashamed of it and many people need to hear it. Even if one person acknowledges and learns the truth of the Word, you’ve done a great and wonderful thing. Hope to catch up with you in BGC this September. 🙏🏽👍🏽
Aside from Bonifacio G.C. There is FiInvest City in Alabang, Muntinlipa City, In the future there will be more township or Business districts that will be constructed in Metro Manila and Mega Manila for youbto choose from to live.
Very honest commentary Evan, and good to hear you stand up for God. You make me consider BGC as well as Baguio now. I like cooler weather but the medical care is important too.
Great stuff. I have a Thai Elite visa and Bangkok is my home base. But I want to start living in PI for a few months a year. BGC seems great. Thanks for all the great vids about it.
I’ve been considering becoming an expat and the Philippines in a top contender…how is it, this is the first time I’ve seen your videos? 🤷🏻♂️ happy to be a new subscriber 👍
Excellent and informational video. And I hope the guide is as informative. And BTW, although I'm not of the same faith. You should never have to apologize for your faith and/or testimonials. Thank you!
Wow! I've watched alot of videos and vlogs about BGC, but this is the most informative and comprehensive one! Great job Savvy expat, hope to see more content like this in your channel. :)
One thing that I noticed about BGC is that there appears to be lots of trees which makes it seem or feel like you're partly in the province even though you're in the city. It's great that you don't have to travel very far to get to a store or a restaurant unlike in the province. Where I have a house in Silang, Cavite I don't have to travel very far to go to a grocery store, to a mall or a restaurant especially in Tagaytay. Living in BGC you can basically walk to any place that you want. I thought that Randy's Donuts sounded familiar to me since I'm in California. If I'm ever going to be in BGC I will let you know Evan as it would e great to meet you. Take care and God bless.
Evan It is awesome that u put your Faith out there ahead of everything else Jesus says u will truly be blessed if u put him first. Evan though my first trip wasn't so good there because of my Faith am considering giving it another try here in Thailand it is not a Faith based country and I am missing that keep up with the great videos and May God bless you always.
Thanks Tom, all glory goes to Him first. I’m sorry to hear that your trip didn’t pan out so well here. Next time you visit, shoot me an email and I’d love to have a lunch w/ you. God bless you brother.
good job ! very intense information and very honest estimate on actual cost of living at BGC . GREAT JOB providing this information bro im planning to retire there in 25 years:)
Great video, Evan! Thanks for the reminder on the end portion of this video. I can testify what you said! Till the next video we will be staying tuned for.
Great video! You just confirm what I knew. I have the money. Lots pensions plus ssn. But I’m not a city person. When I get tired of province I go to BGC for a week end 😊 you are young so BGC fits. I am 70.
Are there places to take classes in BGC? In addition to eating and shopping, I want to have plenty to do every week...cooking, arts and crafts, languages, history and social studies, etc...
Some provinces are much cheaper than others. I have seen many expats go to the islands of paradise and run out of funds very quickly. Some did not plan well, some got scammed. Others just had bad luck. Some lost out to poor planning with extended family members. l am sure l have not seen it all. I have be into and out of the islands for over 50 years. I have found life in the islands to be exciting, economical and a great deal of fun. I have also found a hybrid lifestyle beats going native or hoing with all imported items. One word of advise. Be sure to have a decent sized emergency fund. Stuff happens and sudden expenses can occure when least expected.
Thanks for sharing your faith. Had a hint some vlogs back. Keep speaking truth and about what matters. Encouraging people to think about these by itself is...savvy. :) God bless you and the family.
it was a great place to visit last year. i found out not long ago that the mall that i visited with the gondola ride WAS in bgc lol!! thanks for the video
Very good video! I'm especially happy that you have Jesus in your life. Even if I never meet you, I am assured that you are doing well because you have a relationship with the Lord. That is by far the most important thing! Don't be too distracted with the glitter of your city life. The salvation of our God and the leading of His Holy Spirit is all you really need. But, I pray that you are having a great time in BGC, and, enjoy it while you're young. Have a great day!
Sure. Thanks, that would be great to get some advice. We’re just waiting for the Uptown Arts building to be completed in the fall of 2025. We hope to make another trip there between now and then
Hi Eric, Just watched your video with JJ and the information that both of you share will be very helpful in making my move. One thing that you discussed was selling all furniture before moving. Can you share some information on how I can keep some pieces of mid century modern furniture that I want to keep because I probably won’t be able to replace them in the Philippines? Is shipping from NY expensive? Will my items arrive safe? Look forward to any advice that you, JJ or other expats can offer Ed
I don't know why you mentioned peace from materialistic pleasures. I find materialistic pleasures chaotic. Keeps me on toes if I wear say a materialistic pleasure watch. My car, I had to be on my toes where to park it. Again no peace I find. Properties -- same, had to constantly check out whether it's kids throwing football around my windows or neighbors doing renovations in their own properties as examples. Jesus Christ unlike Buddha and other gods, teaches that peace comes from unmaterialistic lifestyle. That's why he dresses simply -- no jewelries around neck and wrists or on the forehead, etc. The peace that Christ offers is on shedding off materialistic pleasures in exchange of simplicity in living. And to think that such rings true on our daily lives is just incredible.
I would also like to add that while walking in Makati and BGC, I never felt in danger. I would test that I didn't even feel in danger when walking alone in Burgus area also.
I admire you for taking the risk of your religious message at the end, some viewers will ignore it and others will simply ignore your channel. Respect 👍
Great videos Evan, very informative. If you get a chance, I'm sure a number of people would like to know about having pets (dogs) in BGC. Particularly regarding living in a condo and outside activities.
I love big cities, but I wouldn't live in BGC, like you say "it's a bubble". Maybe do a video on a middle ground part of town with a mix of clean and modern with a little more of the Filipino life-style? I stayed in Makati and loved it, a good mix?
If you want a city life with so many quality restaurants within walking distance, then BGC is the place to be. If you want to travel a few distance to go to a good restaurant, then go to other cities. Makati is a good candidate.
The number one factor of any expats want to retire in any country is the Medicare(care and cost) not a city or town to stay. Any individual should consider how much is the out of pocket cost if someone got sick in the Philippines.
It's 3x cheaper on average BUT it is important also to get a private health insurance replacing Medicare. This is to insure you on cancer type costs. $300 monthly for around $2000 deductible and $1M annual coverage is what I'll be getting. This is just $130 more on the monthly Medicare premium post-retirement of $170.
Dude I am assuming you are from the USA. Why would you not use Medicare if you get cancer and go to a hospital in the USA. Cancer treatment in the Philippines is notoriously awful.
@@MikeJones-uh7mt Awful? Who said that? First time hearing it. It's pay for quality. You think the homeless in USA get better treatment cancer than the Ayalas in Pinas?
Hi,you should do a video on the best apartments building near all the malls 1 bedrooms in the range of 500- 1000 per month that range for expats please 😊
The range you give is pretty large here. If you want to spend closer to the $500-$700 range, you can check out several of the Avida properties. They’re not overly-luxurious but they are pretty nice and get the job done. Higher end of your range you can stay in places like Uptown Ritz, One Uptown or Uptown Parksuites, which are all right across the street from the uptown mall. It also depends on what you consider “close” to the malls. I live in Forbestown and love it, but I am not 5 minutes walking-distance from a mall. Can still get there very quickly though. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend many of the places close to Market Market or SM Aura because they’re older and quite noisy because of the traffic.
Good video my man. Do you have any information on those wanting to move with little kids of school going age? What options do you have for English speaking school with international curriculum. Thank you. Keep up the good work
I did laugh at the “15 minute to the airport” comment 😂 I always stay at Ascott snd during my last trip 3 weeks ago, it took 1 hour yo get to the airport on a Saturday afternoon. I ❤BGC but I hate the traffic getting to other cities 😅
Dope u mentioned XYLO. My date and I walked past there and I talked the bouncers into letting us in. We had a table and everything for free. The place was dope af. I could never afford the most expensive nightclub in New York City, I can in Manila.
Thank you for sharing! I visited BGC with my Filipino family right before the pandemic, and I told them that it reminded me of home in the states. Market Market in BGC is also a good place to buy pasalubong from including suman; for example; just freeze the suman and they would be fine to bring back to the states. God Bless 🙏 ❤

My pleasure Yaw! Thanks for tuning!
Great video! You just confirm what I knew. I have the money. Lots pensions plus ssn. But I’m not a city person. When I get tired of province I go to BGC for a week end 😊 you are young so BGC fits. I am 70.
Bonifacio Global City - Best place to hang around in Manila. WELCOME MABUHAY to Philippines
Great video specially about Jesus ✝️
Nice vlog. Your informations are absolutely true. Worth living at BGC if you have the money
Thank you for sharing your testimony ❤❤❤loved the section on where everything is in BGC.
Are there places to take classes in BGC? In addition to eating and shopping, I want to have plenty to do every week...cooking, arts and crafts, languages, history and social studies, etc...
Appreciate you bringing Reality
God bless you and the family.
Absolutely top notch content. Well done
it was a great place to visit last year. i found out not long ago that the mall that i visited with the gondola ride WAS in bgc lol!! thanks for the video
Its not in BGC, its in McKinley though these two business districts are very close to each other
@@millennialinmanila5621 many thanks for the clarification 👍
I've decided. I want to live in BGC. And the provinces.
You’re gonna love it!
Beautiful BGC, watching and sending my full support,, thank you.. 😊
Spent last April in BGC and liked it so much that we’re moving to Uptown
Can’t go wrong with BGC man. My studio is actually in uptown. Hit me up if you’re ever down for coffee 🤝
Look forward to any advice that you, JJ or other expats can offer
Ed
👍🏽❤️🙏🏽. Good stuff
Thank you for sharing your faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior ❤
God bless you Evan and bless the beautiful Philippines.
Is there any church in BGC?
I attend at Victory Fort in BGC! Lovely church, lovely people that love God.
There's a Catholic chapel at uptown mall
@@snowtyboy Thx Rick that is exactly what I was looking for.
this guy is a very smart kid.
I would also like to add that while walking in Makati and BGC, I never felt in danger. I would test that I didn't even feel in danger when walking alone in Burgus area also.
bro been working hard lately
I think Cebu city offering the best balance between nature & large city accommodations…
this is the best description of BGC.
Great video! Thanks so much
I admire you for taking the risk of your religious message at the end, some viewers will ignore it and others will simply ignore your channel. Respect 👍
For to live is Christ and to die is gain - Philippians 1:21
Thanks brother 🙏
God Bless you and thank you for the information.
LOVE YOUR SHARING GODS WORD THANK YOU EVAN
Glory to God!
Great video. Love the bible verses. Thank you.
Amen brother🙏🙏
Great videos Evan, very informative. If you get a chance, I'm sure a number of people would like to know about having pets (dogs) in BGC. Particularly regarding living in a condo and outside activities.
Nah! Hate pets 😂.
I understand some don't though. 👍
BGC is pet friendly.
I have properties in both Makati and BGC. BGC is really nice, especially everything is nee, but somehow, i still feel more at home in Makati.
I love big cities, but I wouldn't live in BGC, like you say "it's a bubble". Maybe do a video on a middle ground part of town with a mix of clean and modern with a little more of the Filipino life-style? I stayed in Makati and loved it, a good mix?
All Cities are in a bubble.
BGC is perfect in itself, and a few minutes from Makati. Two best of both worlds. 👍
What city is not a bubble?
If you want a city life with so many quality restaurants within walking distance, then BGC is the place to be. If you want to travel a few distance to go to a good restaurant, then go to other cities. Makati is a good candidate.
Very well said. Peace comes from Jesus Christ. ❤
Excellent tips! Thanks
Very informative thank you 🙏
May I add for people who wants to settle in the province and needs fast internet access Star link is already available in the Philippines.
🙏🏾very informative video✍🏽🌴
YES!!! Get into it!
for internet connectivity, there is always starlink, so you dont really have to worry about it even if you want to live in remote areas.
Thank you Evan!
Thank you. Keep up the good work
God bless you, mate, quite like the Bible quotes. :)
Awesome vid.
God Bless 🙏 ❤
those bystanders lol . great video!
I subscribed only for the last part
No belittling the test of the content..really complete info about the city . .. really nice to share your faith in God
Good video Evan
