Back in July, I took a special flight with United Airlines aboard one of their old, but nice, 767's from Newark, NJ to Dubrovnik, Croatia. Croatia had recently eased entry requirements for tourism, so I jumped on the opportunity to take a trip to this word famous city. This is only a seasonal route, and is only set to operate between July and October. Great video. Dubrovnik is a gorgeous city and Croatia a beautiful and fascinating country (I spent about a week there in 2015). Glad that UA is/was flying EWR-DBV nonstop (seasonally), and the trusty 767 (even a 29 yr old one) is a good plane for the route.

Nice video! Totally agree 1:54 about the superior comfort of the 767 Economy seating. I’ll be flying one in a few weeks to Milan, and I’m just as happy to avoid the crush of seats in the 350 and 787.

Very nice trip report! I am from Dubrovnik and it's quite sad that Croatian citizens still need visa to enter US. Plus vaccination passport is not accepted by US Government. Only negative PCR test, and still have to go for 10 days in quarantene in NYC. I have big wish to visit NYC. Nothing for this year.

It's pretty cool that you can get a flight from the mighty NYC into a tiny but cool destination like Dubrovnik! And I like 767 - it's a widebody, but doesn't feel like one. Also a window seat in 2-3-2 (or 2-4-2 on A330s) is great, much better than 3-3-3 or 3-4-3.
I agree, I definitely love the 2-3-2 layout and catching a long flight from NYC to Croatia was nice.

Actually the breakfast looked o.k.
Wow, that food looked pretty bad. And who serves yogurt and cookies for breakfast? I was just in first class on American and they served a sandwich that was almost pure bread with hardly any turkey. It was terrible! For the price of the ticket, I really think they could do much better. Great trip report ❤️👍✈️
Thanks for watching! Yeah, I was really disappointed with the food and this wasn’t a cheap flight either. US carriers need to do better with their catering.
It is a surprise for me that there is flights between Newark and non national capital like Dubrovnik and there is not any direct connection between the US and the Canaries,Spain which is the more massive tourist destination all around the year in Europe, mainly in Winter season where there are at least 2 airports bigger than Dubrovnik, LPA (Las Palmas/Gran Canaria) and TFS (Tenerife South) , this last one is a very important British destination.
UA added Tenerife in 2022, and is bringing it back for 2023. It is only served 3x weekly with a 757, and only in summer. UA started serving Dubrovnik in 2021 because Croatia was one of the first European countries to reopen to American tourists. They use their EWR hub to serve a lot of smaller European destinations with their 757 and 767 aircraft.
Here is another place for you to visit and the place is Ohrid Macedonia and you can book this house by the lake and the name you are going to search is lake house sand thru booking. Good luck

United decided not to replace the 767’s but to renovate them instead. They then as we know in 2021 they chose to make a huge order to replace the aging narrow bodies and regionals.

@@nycflyertravel nice review I love Dubrovnik I go every summer land in Dubrovnik and go down to Montenegro and Albanian rivijera and Greece! 767 look good .cabin was remodel compere to original it look like 777 cabin style! Meal look better than Lufthansa which offers pasta only

I saw the United plane in Dubrovnik. It was about 4 hours late. I don't envy the poor people who have to fly this airline. I rate them and American among the worst international carriers. Also Newark is an awful airport for delays. A taxi driver in Shannon remarked their planes are so ooooold. Last year I flew on a 767 from London. It was in bad condition. The window shade was glued down permanently. By the way they no longer serve the nice ice cream. They downgraded to an awful sweet Milk biscuit. The ice cream was one of the only nice parts of their mediocre meals. LOOL a Bischof biscuit for breakfast? They used to at least offer a croissant with jam in the old days. I can't believe this outfit. The people who run their catering need to have their heads examined. Did they tell you to hurry up and board quickly like they did with us? The crew on boarding were like prison wardens from Rikers Island.
Unfortunately I’ve had run ins with United’s Rikers Island crew in the past, but I definitely think they have improved.
