  • In this video, we will be installing a circular (split-faced) concrete block, wood fire pit with a smokeless steel insert. We will be taking you through all the steps to create a professionally installed firepit like you see here. Without the proper understanding of how to build something like this, it is hard to get a truly professional looking install. Enjoy the video and please comment with any questions!
    #hardscaping #concrete #firepit #construction #patio
    The Firepit is Manufactured by ( Techo-Bloc ) and the firepit kit is called ( Valencia ) with a color blend called ( Champlain Grey ).
    The smokeless insert is manufactured by ( BREEO ), I don't know for sure which model unfortunately....

      Thank you, with that insert the vents are not necessary. The insert itself has vents and is smokeless.

      The Breeo relies on airflow from the bottom to provide a secondary burn. There must be gaps on the base layer to allow for this. Outside of that, BEAUTIFUL install. I love my Breeo!

      Thanks man! That is 1/4 inch chip stone and it is very hard to find. Sometimes we use 3/8 chip stone when the 1/4 isn’t available. 👍🏻

    TCH, this looks awesome! I have only seen a couple of IG posts and your video here make a Zentro fire pit look this good. Seriously! I am very interested in getting something similar done here in Dallas, TX. I'm curious, have you ever experimented with PaveTool fire pit vents? I'm wondering since Zentro inserts draw fresh air in from the top, would vents on the one of the lower rows of blocks throw off radiant heat at people's feet? That would be awesome! Also, would steel vents sized 9.75"W x 2.9"H be roughly the same size as the blocks you used in this video here? Thank you for your video and your responses on other comments!

    What size fire pit is that, also if installed in the ground instead of on top of the pavers how tall is it? Also that retaining wall can those paver benches be installed without a retaining wall I have flat surface and we are looking for some seating like this style for Around the fire pit. Thanks

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Год назад +1

      Here is a link to the exact firepit I used, it has all the dimensions you need. www.techo-bloc.com/shop/fire-pits/valencia-fire-pit/
      And you can use those caps on top of other hard surfaces if you want for sure. ✌

    doesn't this set up restrict the lateral heat from the fire pit when you insulate them with the rocks? and what about air flow restrictions since Breeo relies on the X cut out on the bottom to feed the fire?

      Hello, the small joints in between the blocks and open grade base underneath and around it seems to be plenty of airflow. The customer loves it and has been using it for about 9 months now. ✌

      I was wondering this too. But then I remembered when I first heard of Breeo years ago, their Zentro draws cool fresh air in and down from the top rim. Here is a video from a few years ago explaining it... ruclips.net/video/UYVJcTpSsJk/видео.html Breeo is such a great company. I think their Zentro is only available through wholesalers now though. I hope this helps, especially if like me, you are thinking about acquiring a Zentro insert and building a sweet fire pit like TCH here has built. I definitely am.

    I’m really interested in using the same kit. We have the same color Techo-Bloc around our pool area. Can you confirm you used the Breeo x30 and not the Breeo x24? It seems like the x30 is about 3 inches too wide to fit the inner diameter of the Valencia kit. It would be awesome if it fits since we have the x30, but I don’t want to order the blocks until I’m certain.

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Год назад

      You know, I don't remember the actual insert we used... But the inner diameter of the firepit is 29-1/8 inches. Not sure if the 30" breeo is exactly 30 or if it is a little less...

    We just laid down a techoblock patio and afterwards thought to add a breeo insert. Can we still do this with the patio laid down? Is there something we need to put beneath the insert to protect the pavers?

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Год назад

      Yes you can. The pavers should be good unless you have a lot of really hot fires... If you do plan to have a lot of hot fires, Maybe a piece of aluminum sheet metal to protect it from the heat

  • @PeteyPablo408
    @PeteyPablo408 Год назад +1

    Where can we get the fire pit insert with the grills on it? Also will the breo fit on the Valencia fire pit after its been built?

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Год назад

      You can go to (Breeo's) website or contact the supplier where you bought the firepit, they may have a few options you can buy through them or they may know a place.
      If you buy one yourself, you just need to know the inner diameter of the firepit. And since it is built, if you go to put it in and it doesn't quite fit, you may just have to shave the blocks down a little inside the pit. Sometimes it can be off like a 1/4 inch in some spots.

    Hi! We have the same firepit and we decided to go with an insert of our own and I'm now regretting it. Can the insert be installed after building the firepit? Thank you

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Год назад

      Yes it can, as long as it is designed for the same measurement for the inside of the firepit. If it is just slightly to tight, you may have to grind down the blocks in a few areas, but that is no big deal

  • @PeteyPablo408
    @PeteyPablo408 Год назад +1

    We just ordered our Techo-Bloc Valencia Fire Pit in Shale-Grey just curious how tall is the fire pit measure I don't wantbit to be too short thinking of adding an additional row?

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Год назад

      It should come with 5 rows x 3 inches per row. So 15 inches unless you bury the first row. I don’t think you will need another row, if you add one, it will be tough to even see or feel the fire. I actually backfill the inside of the pit with 3/4 inch crushed stone about 3 rows high to allow for the fire to be more visible ✌🏻
