Edit: Though to add a warning. Don't underestimate what people will do of they're in an environment that they're comfortable with and feel like they can get away with doing something. One of the comments to this person read at the end, “With the giant cast of characters Genshin has, how are you this painfully boring?” That comment is uncalled for. I’ve probably said it ten thousand times but I’ll say it again: people can like and ship what they want. I’m not just saying this as a straight artist myself, but as someone who has been dissed by people for liking “boring” or “basic” stuff. Some people call SAO a basic anime/manga, but my middle and high school years were spent on it so I don’t care what others say. It’s only basic because so many people like it. It’s the equivalent of calling ships like JeanXDiluc a “basic ship.” In the end, who cares? You like it and that’s all that matters.

i don't agree with these people hating on straight ships, but where did you hear genshin characters are CANONICALLY straight, i believe in the genshin universe that they wouldnt have labels such as straight or gay, everyone would be fluid and have their own preferences and no one would judge because it just makes sense for it to be that way lol
@@nixie534 Its a bad example from the poster here, which is why when I make that same argument, I use characters from other media instead. To really showcase the hypocrisy, I would use Kallen Kislana from Honkai to represent the people one Twitter who say we need to respect a character's canon sexuality (Kallen is in a canon lesbian relationship, though her affection quotes are highly tinged with potential interest in the player character so she might be bisexual). Then I would point out that the all time most popular Harry Potter pairing has always been Harry/Draco, a gay ship between two canon straight characters, hence the hypocrisy. You have to respect the canon sexuality of an LGBT character, but its ok for us (people on Twitter) to flagrantly ignore the canon sexuality of straight characters.
Still pretty pointless since only like 2 genshin characters have any remote hints of their sexuality, these being Ayaka and Shenhe both having lines expressing their interest in the Traveler regardless of gender. Almost everything to do with Ayaka, from her story quest to her birthday letter she sends you, is basically her professing love to the Traveler (regardless of gender). And Shenhe has some high friendship quotes talking about how the Traveler is the only person that makes her feel strong enough to not need the Red Ropes (for reference, Shenhe has extremely volatile and violent emotions that Cloud Retainer bound using the Red Ropes you see on her outfit) to control herself and how she never wants them to leave her.
