He just said "trying to stay alive" 😭 RIP Chef. I'm sure you're hanging out with Anthony Bourdain, Paul Prudhomme, Justin Wilson and Julia Child having a blast. I'm so grateful for this legacy of videos of you.
I am already missing Daddy Jack after his passing today. We are still blessed to see Jack display his culinary talents, but he will be missed! RIP, Jack! You will be my go-to-guy for my favorite dishes but I will always shed a tear for missing a great personality with style, humor, and flair! God Bless you Jack!
Whatta Great Gift! We’re fortunate to have this video legacy of Daddy Jack. I’ve watched videos numerous times just to listen to him talk about life and how cooking has influenced it. He was truly the People’s Chef!!!
Never met you, but I definitely miss you. You taught me to relax, and to cook by feel as much as by measure. More importantly, during my divorce, you and your videos gave me an anchor, a lifeline I cling to while everything else was stripped away from me. I often thought about making an excuse to make the drive to New London to your restaurant, but not in time. I’m better now, Daddy Jack. I lost everything, and don’t have much left to me, but what I have is solid. I’m on my own two feet now, and I have the love of an amazing woman who makes it all good. I wouldn’t have made it through though without cooking, and you were a big part of that. God bless you, and rest you Daddy Jack. You were a New England original.
What a wonderful chef and a beautiful man I’ve been watching your videos for years and years and you have a beautiful family. God bless you my friend Godspeed.
Jack I want to thank you for your videos. I would have never thought to be able to use high heat while cooking. I made a dish tonight with Some leftover spiral ham, penne, peas, spices and an Alfredo sauce. Worked great constantly stirring. Thanks stay safe.
Good to see you've adapted Daddy Jack! I really enjoy your videos. Don't give up and do what you love! I actually made a leek and ginger soup inspired by the one you made a little while ago. I had no potatoes though. Had to use the classic butter/flour roux, but hey! I got that nice carrot color baby! :D
You gotta nice place Jack. Love that water view. Nice deck. Good food. Good friends. When Spring sprungs it’s going to be pretty & green over there. It’s springtime here in North Texas already.
I like the shot of all the piles and wires across the street, that’s what I do here in Chicago!! We all love you Jack. Be careful because your restaurants on my “bucket list”
Right on DADDY Jack , we call that bringing it on home ! You got it going on for SURE my brother . I need say no more 👍 blues down !!!! From out here in So Cal. !
Yay! There's my big beautiful boy Axel! Your a real Daddy, Jack. Always thinking of others. Trying to provide a calm and normalcy in a dire situation. 💙🙏
Oh yea Daddy Jack. You killing it on this Wednesday morning bout 5:30 am. Btw that Sweet Baby Rays is the Boss. I met Dave Raymond about 15 years ago at his restaurant. Super nice guy!! Thanks for sharing and greetings from Chicago and ATB Mike
Love to see Daddy Jack chilling in his home environment - though I have to say, this guy is just as laid back at the restaurant, no difference between his work and home personas at all, he is FABULOUS! Please stay well dear friend, we love you here in the UK and we need your life-affirming videos more than ever now we're on lockdown. Will you be doing some home cooking videos for us while the restaurant is closed? I would love to see some recipe ideas using non-perishable, store cupboard basics like canned or jarred veg/meat/fish/sauces, dried pasta, maybe frozen veg, dried herbs etc (our supermarket shelves are pretty empty here in the UK!) We can't currently shop too often either as we've been told to stay home and only venture out for food essentials infrequently. So some inspiration on how to create exciting meals with basic ingredients we already have at home would be amazing. Take care DJ and please take care of yourself and your loved ones. God bless you darling and a big kiss for Axel too, good health, Lisa. XXX
Hey Jack!!! Thanks for the reply on sunday and GREAT to see you at home grillin and chillin!!! Do you have insurance for all the food stock loss at the restaurant or did you give most of your raw and stored product away before you closed up?
be safe my brother from another mother you know how to cook you'll survive it's been pretty boring over here I'm a handyman in the state of Washington and there's no calls so surreal
