I don't get how the members of Rex's party didn't realize that Malos thought he was beyond reconciling for his actions. He realized that he is the villain in this story, and that he must be stopped. He pits himself against Rex and the others because of his obligation to Amalthus as a blade, and to test Rex's will. Everything Amalthus wanted became what Malos was determined to realize, all the way to his death. Even if that means he knows he stands in the way of Alrest moving on to a new era. Malos realized that his role in this world was to battle, and maybe be defeated by Rex, the Driver of the Aegis. And so, he was determined to realize his role in this world.

There's a similarity between the father-son relationship and the driver-blade relationship. Your parents give you life, a pshysical body, and than they accompany your mind until maturity. In that process, they leave to you a lot of things, some of which they don't even know. They leave to you your sense of self, security, they are a part of what you'll feal for the world. In almost every case, something which doesn't work in your parents gets passed to you. Malos's father was Amalthus, drivers imprint their subconscious in their blades in a way which reminds me of that father-son relationship. Amalthus could not accept a world so full of atrocities to the point he would have preferred to end it all with the struggles and suffering. That desire is what Malos inherited and instinctively tried to achieve until his very end. It's what defined him as a person. We fight those same inherited conflicts for big parts of our lives, and some of us never get out of them. Malos never got out. But, in the end, he's the only character who understood Amalthus fully. "He wasn't so bad" No, no he wasn't. He was a child who lost his family in war.
You know, considering how much info we've gotten about the Aegis War 500 years before this game, Monolith could easily make a prequel to this game starring Addam's crew. Also, has any fanfic for this game been posted yet?
Fun fact: Aion was ment to be powered by all three Aegis core crystals at the same time. That means he's only operating at 33,3 % power here. If he was powered by all three Aegis core crystals, he would have been truly terrible.
@@Vamoss39 No, he means that when pneuma pilots Aion, Malos is still powering it, as there are 2 cores filled. It can't be Alvis since he's in Shulk's world. Future redeemed also implies that Malos survived and is powering the sword of the end.
Nah. The cores were never the source of power. They all channel from the Conduit, with Aion having the most access. The difference really is "the power of friendship" because that's canon in Xeno games
I already played to the ending about a week and a half ago and now just watching the cutscene on youtube, I'm about to cry again. Gosh darnnit.. This game still gets you even when you know what is gonna happen and you aren't playing it yourself at the moment.
It was pathetically easier then anything I've faced up to the artifice aion honestly but I did kinda have nia as my blade instead of a party member also mythra is a monster in her ascended form her blade combo damage is ridiculous and she instantly gets a blade combo and her chain attack damage don't get me started I was at level 70 across all party members too there's that
Xenoblade Chronicles (original) had way too much jank. For example, being pushed by the boss off the cliff or into an ether puddle just because you were in the way of the boss' movement.
Shmen I have to say, it kind of feels better not tapping left and right on the dpad constantly to use so different arts. But hey, that's my opinion. I'm just happy Monolithsoft met my expectations :)
@@gabrielevaccaro2453 He said he’s an administrative computer. The Architect said that the Aegises were the cores of the trinity processor. Which was the administrative computer running the experiment.
Even the level of this boss is symbolic. He's level 70. Who was level 70 in XC1? Yup, Egil. Malos is the Egil of this game, using mechanical blades to try and destroy all of nature to try and fell the cruel god Klaus. Only to be misguided, and nearly destroy the world in the process. Damn, this game knows how to use subtle symbolism.
and it also makes sense that the final boss here would be lower leveled since this is confirmed to be Earth. That is, even with all of the Phlebotinium, there are still some hard rules to reality that prevent the more crazy awesome things of Xenoblade 1, such as walking on Empty Space, not to mention the Reality ensues moment of the debris threatening to cause a 7th Mass Extinction event
I used to hate those members in Torna organization, except Jin. But the Chapter 8-9 make me change my view on them entirely. I never expect to feel sad for the death of all of them, especially Jin, Malos and Mikhail.
This ending reminds me of FFVI's ending when Terra supposedly dies but survived. I wouldn't be surprised if the folks of Monolith Soft did this ending as a tribute to FFVI; it's a happy ending. :)
well, some of the monolith soft developers WERE squaresoft developers, specifically tetsuya takahashi so it's no suprise to see him worked on FF6 before.
"But that man...He'd lost everything. He no longer wanted anything. He didn't even want to live any more. And despite that... His life was the one thing he hadn't lost. Because he couldn't! Words can be a curse. That curse was what kept him tied down here. A wretched tale, isn't it? This whole world is a wretched place! I'm a wretched being too! A hideous monster, far beyond saving! ...So let's end this now." - RIP Jin and Malos Also, if anyone knows the track that plays during that, I'll pay you in my tears.
I’m just gonna say it, but I’m sure EVERYONE was losing their shit when they heard “Today we use our power to fell a god and the seize our destiny” quote again
I really finished this game almost 4 years ago now. Christ. Other than the character design, i liked this more than xenoblade 1. Id like a sequel to 2.
this game is so good Rex's qoute " if it helps put a smile on peoples faces, helps them live their lives together, then thats my role in this world" when I heard it I just knew, I KNEW there was a reason I connected to Rex, and this is it, I too try to do the same thing, doing what I can for others, thank you Monoslith for making such a master peice, I can't wait to play the orginal on Switch
This ending kinda reminds me to the ending of Xenosaga episode I, I even started playing the song Pain from the same game on the minute 24:40 and it fits perfectly.
If it wasn't for you, for Amalthus both Jin and Lora's lives may have taken quite different paths. Well if it wasn't for the people who killed Amalthus' mother in front of his eyes, and if someone was trying to help him rather than ignoring and killing him than he won't become the guy who wants to kill everyone and won't release Malos.
Hey Database, just wanted to say I love how you decided to upload the bosses for this game, but I was curious to ask if in the future do you think you'd be able to do the first Xenoblades bosses?
This game takes place in a Universe adjacent to the one created inXenoblade Chronicles as proof by Half of the Architect living in the other universe. . So when we hear Shulk's Lines that's the other universe's Arcitect dying, it signals that this universe's arcitech shall also die. Can't wait for the Xenoblade 2 dlc when they cross universes and we see Rex team up with Shulk!!

"He wasn't so bad"
No, no he wasn't.
He was a child who lost his family in war.
"Is this really what you want?" and then Shulk asks the same thing at Alvis in the new DLC trailer for 3
You know, considering how much info we've gotten about the Aegis War 500 years before this game, Monolith could easily make a prequel to this game starring Addam's crew. Also, has any fanfic for this game been posted yet?
Gautam Sarathy No sadly. I’ve been waiting too
Eh. What can we do? It seems the internet isn't fast enough to upload fanfic in less than a week.
Gautam Sarathy Looks like it. I wonder what Pyra says at the end to Rex
I'm assuming it's "I love you" or "Anata wo suki nano" or something like that. That might just be my imagination.
Gautam Sarathy What does “Anaka wo suki nano” mean?
so basically all this happened because Malos became an edgy boi
no.. All this happened because Klaus was edgy himself.. and then Shulk goes and destroys alrest. 🤔
More like Amalthus was an edgy boi
Basically Amalthus. Don't blame him neither.
Everyone was an edgy boi
Poppi's the edgiest boi
Fun fact: Aion was ment to be powered by all three Aegis core crystals at the same time. That means he's only operating at 33,3 % power here.
If he was powered by all three Aegis core crystals, he would have been truly terrible.
and when Pneuma oprates it we can see 2/3 aegies core crystal and that means that Malos fate is unkown
Some of the cutscenes I actually cried. I love this game.
I always laugh when Malos does his bored "huh?" response to Rex's question.
It was pathetically easier then anything I've faced up to the artifice aion honestly but I did kinda have nia as my blade instead of a party member also mythra is a monster in her ascended form her blade combo damage is ridiculous and she instantly gets a blade combo and her chain attack damage don't get me started I was at level 70 across all party members too there's that
"Aion is the ultimate artifice!"
*Ophion is almost 50 levels higher than it*
gameplay and story segregation. There needs to be a superboss, so
Xenoblade Chronicles (original) had way too much jank. For example, being pushed by the boss off the cliff or into an ether puddle just because you were in the way of the boss' movement.
Xenoblade 2 was an improvement over the original. Idk why people say the original was better.
Shmen I have to say, it kind of feels better not tapping left and right on the dpad constantly to use so different arts. But hey, that's my opinion. I'm just happy Monolithsoft met my expectations :)
It's not a real JRPG is you aren't using the power of friendship to kill god.
Josh Legacy
WTF!?
Aion and the Aegises count as gods.
@@maxrichards3881 no they don't they didn't even a little part of zanza power for an exemple
@@gabrielevaccaro2453
Zanza draws power from an Aegis. Alvis.
@@maxrichards3881 well alvis is a admin, pneuma and malos are not(i am sorry if my inglish is bad but i am italian)
@@gabrielevaccaro2453
He said he’s an administrative computer.
I HEARD SHULK
SAME I ALSO HEARD SHULK!!!!!!!
shacharco87 when?
10:56
shacharco87 ah
OH MY GOD IS TRUE
I just beat this thing like 5 minutes ago it was so amazing lol it feels so good
lucky im stuck at the part where you fight your friends
wargames 1991 In case you still haven't (which I doubt), Shield Hammer's are excellent for those fights, especial Morag's
Or just jump over the fence and hit the trapped Morag with a Ball for minutes.
yeah i beat it. i used that ice girl with the bear all i did was level up her skills
it was a very good game
28:08 make a girl cry that's not going to fly make a girl smile you passed the trial
-Rex
Rex totally did not pass that trial
You know an ending is good when it makes you cry or feel emotional
*After some hype cutscenes getting you pumped up*

_MEH MEH MEHHH MEH!!!_
Its satisfying to end this by Full Burst with Tora commanding that Maid Robot shooting Poppies Missile.
Franvis44 Madz Exactly what I did.
i did the same lol
I used to hate those members in Torna organization, except Jin. But the Chapter 8-9 make me change my view on them entirely. I never expect to feel sad for the death of all of them, especially Jin, Malos and Mikhail.
Pyra dies and comes back to life.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon all over again.
Except Mystery Dungeon did it better.
I love how pnemua's VA is the perfect mix between both Pyra's and Mythra's voice
@3:45 Malos gives me chills every time. Well done.
And so shulk killed my waifu , GOD DAMN IT SHULK YOU WERE MY HERO
"But that man...He'd lost everything. He no longer wanted anything. He didn't even want to live any more. And despite that... His life was the one thing he hadn't lost. Because he couldn't! Words can be a curse. That curse was what kept him tied down here. A wretched tale, isn't it? This whole world is a wretched place! I'm a wretched being too! A hideous monster, far beyond saving! ...So let's end this now." - RIP Jin and Malos
Also, if anyone knows the track that plays during that, I'll pay you in my tears.
Woops, that was a lie. My apologies. I thought that was it but it seems like it just leads into it if anything.
StellarX It’s called “Sacrifice”
Not all heroes wear capes. Thank you sir!
Asher Ward Thank you, good sir/ma'am/whateverthefuck!
If you were able to Disable Reinforcements, it makes life easy when your fighting this boss at that lvl
For me personally, the artifice colossus are easy to beat with morag
You can seal reinforcements in this fight with a Dark Elemental Combo
I’m just gonna say it, but I’m sure EVERYONE was losing their shit when they heard “Today we use our power to fell a god and the seize our destiny” quote again
Post Aion: don’t cry
Escaping FLOS: don’t cry
One Last You begins playing: cry
im lvl 82, that boss oneshotted my party with 24k dmg, when he had 1 cm HP left, that is some serious mechanics las .
I beat this at level 68, and that almost happened to me LOL
I saw him moving back to do it too, that was TOO close.
kalle andersson it's impossible, prometheus oneshotted even you are to liv 99
he did 24k crit dmg?, so? do you have 24k + HP att 99? , thought so, good one las , gg las
Just use a level 3 blade combo or do a chain. You are immune to damage during the animation. Same applies to the first game.
kalle andersson j
me and the homies finishing our 6+ year long recess lore (it's the robot invasion arc)
I really finished this game almost 4 years ago now. Christ. Other than the character design, i liked this more than xenoblade 1. Id like a sequel to 2.
10:51, you don't even need to theorize that Shulk's and Rex's are are connected, it straight up says something from the final boss of Xenoblade 1!
Not gonna lie...that for me, that was a real tear jerker
this game is so good Rex's qoute "
if it helps put a smile on peoples faces, helps them live their lives together, then thats my role in this world"
when I heard it I just knew, I KNEW there was a reason I connected to Rex, and this is it, I too try to do the same thing, doing what I can for others, thank you Monoslith for making such a master peice, I can't wait to play the orginal on Switch
I don't care what anyone says, Rex was awesome in that mid boss fight cutscene.
Shulk: Today we use our power to fell a God, and then, sieze our destiny!
Me: *dies of realization*
I think Mitsuda probably composed the final boss theme... sounds like his style
Two Reborn Worlds, Two Fallen Gods, One Redeemed Man
Julius Kresnik maybe one reborn world
Hey Database, just wanted to say I love how you decided to upload the bosses for this game, but I was curious to ask if in the future do you think you'd be able to do the first Xenoblades bosses?
After despair and hope kicking in gives me CHILLS
This got very xenoblade FR NOW
This game takes place in a Universe adjacent to the one created inXenoblade Chronicles as proof by Half of the Architect living in the other universe. . So when we hear Shulk's Lines that's the other universe's Arcitect dying, it signals that this universe's arcitech shall also die. Can't wait for the Xenoblade 2 dlc when they cross universes and we see Rex team up with Shulk!!
10:58... guys, I think that is shulk fighting the other half of klaus.
edit: okay so I checked the final boss video from the original xenoblade and that is indeed shulk.
Putting these here for myself:
0:00
7:27
16:17
I wish Malos never died and Rex punched him in the face then had a drink with him in the end
I love how Rex started out not really knowing why he was doing what he was. But by the end, he just said fuck it, I want to help people. I don't need a reason
I get that the 5 main titans all headed towards some place and joined together, but what the heck happened to Argentum and Leftheria?! Were they just left there alone?
OH SH*T
I genuinely feel like butterflies in my stomach when I’m fighting this boss and even just watching the cutscenes. Never played a game that makes me feel this way. Beautiful.
Such a good game great job btw

Aside form the harem, I agree.
The voixe actors kinda suck :/
@@barbdrake5999 They are just really, REALLY British

Malos vs Kratos who said Boy better
QuarryTheMachine Mòrag did.
Yep the Ending make me have depression again even I know the ending before I played this in 2020 and Replay in 2023.
People who cried during the ending of this game: Why!?
Me who experienced the ending of Super Mario Galaxy twice and the true ending of Odyssey: First time?
