@@edbertextreme I didn’t even take it in at first, but the projected wings Melia has on her Castle Ferronis look like that of a Telethia. Though I definitely noticed that Nia's Ferronis has very clear homages to Siren, especially the massive laser.
You cannot tell me watching Keves and Agnus Castles transform into enormous Ferronises wasn't one of the most epic things to happen in this entire game
I am so glad that this was the first Xenoblade boss I was able to beat on the first try, the emotions, the stakes, the determination. It all just felt so much more real, and it made me really not want to lose, just cause I was scared of what might happen. Everytime it would resume combat, I'd just be whispering, no no no no no, not cause I had to fight again, but because I had another chance of dying.
@@danielolondrizrosique1120 dude don´t remember me, he killed my two healers early so it was a slooooow wipe, he was almost dead when melia and nia joined the fight, i thought that nia would ress the healers but nope she ignored them, i was wiped when he had less than 10% hp. BTW you can´t skip most of the cutscenes of the fight, yaaaaay...
Even if he isn't the father of all 3 babys, I think this picture was the best way to make every shipper happy. No matter who you shipped Rex with. It does confirm Pyra and Mythra are two seperate people now.
Probably one of my favorite final boss fights ever in terms of concept. Like the story going on during battle, the sealing of Chain Attacks and Interlinks and how they are broken, god it's so sick
This fight took me two hours and felt like a movie inside a game (no pun intended). While Z as a character is kinda weak, this entire sequence was AMAZING!

He’s still the weakest final boss in the series but I like him for what he represents thematically: How stagnation eventually leads to ruin
In terms of art this boss is a masterpiece. But it's a hell to lose against it. I wished a Checkpoint at least. Regardless a great finale to a great trilogy.
This game is why thr Klaus Saga collectively occupies the #1 spot on my top 10 games list. They don't feel like three separate games, but instead more like three stories for one supermassive game that just keeps on giving. 1, 2, and their respective side stories should be playrd before you even touch 3, and that goes double for Future Redeemed.
This has to be the saddest ending in the Xenoblade series so far. Man, it's got traces of happiness and the promise they'll find each other, but other parts of it are so vague that idk what fully happened yet. I hope the next Xenoblade after this will give us answers as to what happened. It would be really cathartic as well and a happy reveal if the next protagonist ended up being a descendant of Noah and Mio, showing they did get the happy life they deserved.
@@redpika6020 Oh yeah but I was talking about the actual worlds post 3, not Aoinios. Again it's kinda vague & unclear but the game does end with the promise they'll find each other again. No idea whether that means a world merge or just travel between them; but i have hope they'll find each other again.
The part where they started bringing in so many of the different Hero characters truly helped make it feel like a final battle for the fate of the universe. I just wish that they brought in absolutely everyone, because they only bring in some of them (seemingly randomly based on which you bring into the final battle)
Z is probably my most favourite of the Xenoblade final antagonists. For starters, he's the most "alien" out of the three antagonists (Zanza, and Logos (Malos) being the others I refer to). He looks human, but all those marks on his face, the energy horns on his head and even the way his skin looks determines he's ANYTHING but human. Even his body, which has energy lines going through what appears to be his clothing, show that he's not a normal being. At least Zanza and Malos had human appearances; this guy full-on looks like a demon! How fitting it is to find out he essentially was one... Which brings me to the next reason I like him: while it's nothing new (dare I say a bit meh) he's not a sole being, but in fact an amalgamation of negativity itself. Zanza was a god and Malos was (more or less) an AI, but this guy is emotions and thoughts put together to form a monster. It also explains why Moebius is referred to as an energy/race rather than a singular being, since Z IS Moebius. Which also means the Consuls, in their base states, were merely extensions of his will. Pretty creepy...but that's what I like about him. Unlike say, the Bittercold from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, he's not just a mindless force who remains in one place while the world goes to shit. He actually does things himself and does them so efficiently that it makes him horrifying; breaking people's wills, tricking them into fighting each other, all the while he remains a mere spectator to their displeasure. And thirdly, his actions in the game. This guy is as cruel as they come. He constantly killed the first Noah (N) to break his spirit and prove his point about the world itself being too cruel, and made him into one of his strongest minions alongside the first Mio (M), who he basically used as a bargaining chip to get N to join him. And that's just what he's done to N and M; Z's probably done just as bad stuff all around Aionios, which he (in a way) created to preserve his own life. Even worse is that he treats everything like a show for him to watch from the hijacked Origin, watching as two worlds ravage each other without ever coming into proper contact (by that, I mean they haven't completely formed together yet.) Zanza and Malos did some pretty evil stuff too, Zanza having killed off Meyneth, turning most of the High Entia into Telethia solely to wipe out the resistance on Bionis and considering all who exist mere food to him, while Malos just rampaged around Alrest and, somewhat similarly to Z, treated it all as entertainment. But Z...he created a stagnant world just to amuse and sustain himself. That's beyond cruel. Finally, his fight. I can't say much on this as I never directly played this game (nor will I since I'm not very fond of XB's battle system), but seeing him go from a well-dressed demonic man in a theatre to a bodyless mass of negativity controlling a world-recording device that was ravaging the world was insane as hell. There's just something about fighting a formless being that really gets me, something that Zanza nor Malos have. Zanza may have a warped form that becomes even more warped during the second phase of his battle and Malos...Malos only controlled a giant mech for his (which was still cool, all things considered), but Z has no concrete form, because he is an energy. It's just really cool.
@@neilbowes7214I, too, am also a Z fan XD I'm a sucker for villains who are manifestations of desires and, though he's not a super deep character, I'd argue that he isn't supposed to be. He's something that's easy to understand but hard to challenge: the very fear of change itself. He's probably my second favorite main villain in Xenoblade now, tied with Zanza but just behind Malos.
I too, like Z as a villain. I like many types of villains, but I particularly enjoy it when a villain has (and I'll borrow some on Nia's words here) world spanning web-like plans that they manipulate behind the scenes or in the shadows. Z reminds me of Emperor Palatine, which connection I noticed after seeing people compare N to Anakin Skywalker. Both these connections made the Star Wars fan in me very happy.
I love that Nia makes use of the Agnian Annihilator, since it was never destroyed, unlike the Kevesi Annihilator. I'm sure Melia would have made good use of it, though.
The ending took me by surprise, up until that point - especially given Z's lines - I assumed that the worlds were paused on the verge of intersection and that when they did they would destroy each other and Origin's purpose was to repopulate or help create a stable fused universe, and it was fear that if this didn't work and what that new universe would look like that created Z from Origin's operating AI and the souls of the people on board. Instead Origin serves to recreate the universes because they're not merging but passing through each other and that passage/impact would leave the two empty after they separated. I never got any impression that it was the latter until the that last cut-scene.
The ending is so emotional and very beautiful because it makes me sad and happy Seeing the sword belongs to Shulk back in Xenoblade Very happy to see characters from Xenoblade 2 So glad to see Rex marry Pyra, Mythra, and Nia then they have babies Rex is the lucky guy and becomes harem king Their world has become a part, and I hope they will meet again. 😢😢
This fight is long, but not difficult. In fact, I beat him in my first attempt, as comparing to Zanza and Malos, who I took about 3 attempts each. But in this long fight, on the part where the Hero we recruited come in to help when the party got separated, and especially in the final phase where the party is together again, with Melia and Nia also joining, are the best thing ever in this whole sequence.

I really do appreciate all the hero characters getting a chance in the final fight. When you form connections with party members but feel bad you can't bring all them into the final fight.
I know its supposed to be Noah' s face when Z's face starts changing, but the long 'hair' combined with Noah's bangs and face really makes it looks A LOT like Zanza.
RIGHT? That's soo what I initially thought and to be fair it would make a lot of sense!! Xc3 didn't have any traces of Klaus, and Z/Moebius kind of represents the driving force behind Zanza, his desire to maintain control over the world forever and never move forward.
I really like the monologues during the first phase. I've seen many people say after Chapter 5, the story misses the mark, as if it became another story... I mean, maybe they didn't pay attention to the Final Boss, each of your main characters are reaffirming their beliefs and experiences gained throughout the game. It's excellent storytelling through gameplay.
After chapter 5 the characters just keep repeating the same lines over and over again, which make most scenes extremely boring. In the end, nothing really matters because the party can't do shit to Z. M and N defeat him while you are just left there watching. Ouroboros was useless too. Not to mention that there are no real stakes here because even if the party failed to beat Z, someone else would show up after a few years. Z was essentially playing a game of RNG all this time. Statistics say that it was only a matter of time until he rolled the possibility of someone showing up and stopping him. Not to mention that his sole purpose was to maintain this world, yet in the end he says that he hates it and wants to destroy it. That's pretty radical for someone who is the literal personification of the fear of change.
Unlike some of these other angry commenters calling the entire game trash because they died and had to restart, I still think the game is in my top 5 games of all time. But jeeeez, having all my healers suddenly get wiped, get booted back to the title screen, and having to redo an entire 1 hour boss fight with unskippable cutscenes really killed the hype for me here in this final boss...
I think 3 should have done what FC and 2 did and tell you more explicitly that if you lose to the final boss, you have to restart the fight from phase one. I don't really mind restarting the fight myself, deflating as it can be, but I think they should have made it more apparent you'll need to redo it from the start instead of simply asking if you're ready.
Buddy this boss is terrible game design, I was grossly overlevel'd and even found it to be a tedious slog, and then it was GG for every phase if I got Ashera in the chain attack command. Garbage!
Glad I beat this the first time through. This boss fight was like an hour and 30 min 😂 although I almost lost when they split the team into three. But I had 2 signifiers they just kept adding buffs to everyone Fiona and Lanza definitely came in clutch at the end
@@LeocaprioDinardo I dunno, based on the promotional art (I assume it's the actual art for the story DLC much like with 2) it could be a prequel again with Noah and Mio in the first city with Rex and Shulk.
@@Ethral_ I highly doubt it. It's heavily implied that Noah and Mio's present is set hundreds or even thousands of years after Rex and Shulk's adventures. I know it'd be nice to see those characters again, but I'm pretty sure they're long dead and buried. They'd need to make some contrived reasons to bring the previous two protagonists into XC3's story. Furthermore, i'm not sure how that'd translate into gameplay, since Noah and his friends are all kids again.
@@AlvinEarthworm See I disagree, I believe Rex and Shulk died on Aionios and separating the worlds likely brought them back to life as it’s shown everybody in the main cast goes back to being the age they were before the worlds collided (10 or so). I’ve played a lot of single player games and JRPGs. This is up there for me as one of the most epic and well crafted final boss fights I’ve experienced. The absolute grind of it (took me close to 2 hours), with the constantly changing setting and mechanics, with the EPIC music changing through each stage, ending with an explosive climax…i think this is up there for me. Monolith and Nintendo are really some of the only developers these days that create final boss sequences like this. Nothing else in entertainment can bring you tension and excitement quite like this.
On the one hand, the spectacle of this boss fight easily makes it the best fight across the 3 games. As a villain/antagonistic force though, man was this a letdown. Having Z being the embodiment of refusing to change instead of being this awesome character like malos and zanza was monumentally disappointing. N and all of the other moebius were much more entertaining personally. Watching N just become an absolutely broken incel (more like N-cel yahaha) was just so interesting in comparison to "he's the manifestation of the darkness in us all". That's some kingdom hearts shit😂. Still even if I didn't like the boss itself, the fight was beautiful and the game was just incredible. Cannot wait to see what the big dlc story gives us.
I completely agree with all you said here - this game was almost perfection in every way, but Z was so weak as a character compared to pretty much every other Xenoblade villain. Still absolutely a terrific game overall, just wish they handled X, Y, and Z better, or had a more interesting villain behind them.
@@Midas526 agree. It also didn't help that I saw him being "Z" and thought that we were gonna be fighting another zanza the whole game with how the moebius names work. I thought he would've had a link to the xenoblade 1 version of zanza and, seeing his failure there, would've created his world to exist in perpetuity so no one would overpower and over throw him... But nah, he's just our bad feelings🥺. I feel like they had much bigger and better ideas for him but towards the end of the writing they kinda tapered off. Like the ending itself was beautiful, but the rest of chapter 7 just felt way to **insert cliche lines about us ALL being part of the evil** stuff. Still like you said though it definitely didn't ruin the whole experience, critically i say its the best of the 3, and personally its only just behind xenoblade 2 for me.

I legit thought that Moebius was gonna be revealed to be the Ghosts from X (or, at least the people that the Ghosts take over would be the ones referred to as Moebius). The color scheme matches, the Origin interior is really similar to their ship designs, even Taion's comment about how the enemies here are neither organic or inorganic was pretty accurate for them. Black Tar even mentions how they can possess people. I feel like establishing the Ghosts as, like, this interdimensional threat that spans across multiple universes would've been a lot more interesting than what Moebius actually ended up being. Like, they could've been this parasitic race like the Aurum from Kid Icarus: Uprising, with Z being their first victim from Aionios. Maybe they need a host to survive, and give them a ton of power in return to ensure the survival of the host and the parasite; I dunno. As much as I loved the game, the Moebius reveal and some endgame stuff disappointed me just as much as Zanza's reveal back in the first game. Oh well!
For the record, David Whittaker said in an interview that the lyrics for Black Tar were pretty much nonsense. But I still think Takahashi is cooking something here…

Wish the final boss wasn't just a giant head you fought 5 times. I was hoping for a form like the last two games where it was a giant humanoid that was themed around duality or a Satan-like figure with the heads of X, Y, and Z. I was surprised Z had nothing to do with Klaus though. I know the last two games made it pretty clear both sides of Klaus were destroyed, but I thought it was a possibility considering the game takes place in a mashup of the X1 and X2 worlds.
I used to dislike this but I really love it now that I clocked that the head is the heart of the giant Ferronis and the long strands of hair are like wires that connect him to the rest of the mech

Because they’re dead. The Bionis and Alrest merge happens way after the endings of 1 and 2, and even the ending of 3 only shows Poppi and Nia from Alrest, basically confirming Morag, Zeke, Rex, and their blades are dead/back in their core crystal.
My healers just got one shot on the second to last phase on hard mode. This is the one time I'm turning the difficulty down because screw going through like 5 cutscenes and 11 phases again.
Ill probably get slammed with hate but whatever. Z bores the hell out of me. At least i can enjoy watching Zanza or Malos/Amalthus do their thing, and actually charge at you. Z reminds me WAY TOO MUCH of the Architect from the Matrix, though i actually really like the idea of him residing in a theatre, never seen that before in fiction. The Moebius were interesting(half of them anyway), and kept my attention. To me, the only good thing about Z is his boss battle.

@@asprinjuice425 Seriously, Moebius X was more interesting to me, though Z being the definition of humanity's stagnation was ok, he served his purpose. Either X or D would've been better choices as the villain. Or hell, a version of Shulk that was possessed by Z, but due to Shulk's power, intelligence, and status as someone who had Godhood potential, ended up assimilating Z and destroying his personality, while simultaneously darkening Shulk entirely and make him CLAIM his rejected Godhood to rule Aionios. That would've been better then Z by a million miles.
This was a good game. The final boss fight? Very disappointed. Expected more when earlier in the game there were much unique fights. We got generic Boss head # 547773 which is lame. They could have done more with Z.
Z was using Origin´s capabilities, a supercomputer, reason why his final form is a gigantic hologram, makes completely sense within what is happening in the story. And rushed final boss? are you serious, this is the longest and most cinematic final boss in the entire xeno franchise by a good margin. There is nothing in 1 and 2 climax fight that comes close to Melia and Nia using giant mechs (again anther homage to the xeno series foundations) to fight their hijacked creation (Origin).

This has to be the saddest ending in the Xenoblade series so far. Man, it's got traces of happiness and the promise they'll find each other, but other parts of it are so vague that idk what fully happened yet. I hope the next Xenoblade after this will give us answers as to what happened. It would be really cathartic as well and a happy reveal if the next protagonist ended up being a descendant of Noah and Mio, showing they did get the happy life they deserved.
Technically Mio and Noah do have a son but his fate is left unclear. So maybe he becomes the protagonist of Xenoblade 4.
i wouldn't count on that being a thing since we don't know how long ago their son is alive and the people of the City are probably their descendant

Trust me. This ending is happy compared to the ending that is xenosaga episode 3.
The part where they started bringing in so many of the different Hero characters truly helped make it feel like a final battle for the fate of the universe. I just wish that they brought in absolutely everyone, because they only bring in some of them (seemingly randomly based on which you bring into the final battle)
They're not random! They're the Heroes whose Ascension Quests you've done.

Z is probably my most favourite of the Xenoblade final antagonists.
For starters, he's the most "alien" out of the three antagonists (Zanza, and Logos (Malos) being the others I refer to). He looks human, but all those marks on his face, the energy horns on his head and even the way his skin looks determines he's ANYTHING but human. Even his body, which has energy lines going through what appears to be his clothing, show that he's not a normal being. At least Zanza and Malos had human appearances; this guy full-on looks like a demon! How fitting it is to find out he essentially was one...
Which brings me to the next reason I like him: while it's nothing new (dare I say a bit meh) he's not a sole being, but in fact an amalgamation of negativity itself. Zanza was a god and Malos was (more or less) an AI, but this guy is emotions and thoughts put together to form a monster. It also explains why Moebius is referred to as an energy/race rather than a singular being, since Z IS Moebius. Which also means the Consuls, in their base states, were merely extensions of his will. Pretty creepy...but that's what I like about him. Unlike say, the Bittercold from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, he's not just a mindless force who remains in one place while the world goes to shit. He actually does things himself and does them so efficiently that it makes him horrifying; breaking people's wills, tricking them into fighting each other, all the while he remains a mere spectator to their displeasure.
And thirdly, his actions in the game. This guy is as cruel as they come. He constantly killed the first Noah (N) to break his spirit and prove his point about the world itself being too cruel, and made him into one of his strongest minions alongside the first Mio (M), who he basically used as a bargaining chip to get N to join him. And that's just what he's done to N and M; Z's probably done just as bad stuff all around Aionios, which he (in a way) created to preserve his own life. Even worse is that he treats everything like a show for him to watch from the hijacked Origin, watching as two worlds ravage each other without ever coming into proper contact (by that, I mean they haven't completely formed together yet.) Zanza and Malos did some pretty evil stuff too, Zanza having killed off Meyneth, turning most of the High Entia into Telethia solely to wipe out the resistance on Bionis and considering all who exist mere food to him, while Malos just rampaged around Alrest and, somewhat similarly to Z, treated it all as entertainment. But Z...he created a stagnant world just to amuse and sustain himself. That's beyond cruel.
Finally, his fight. I can't say much on this as I never directly played this game (nor will I since I'm not very fond of XB's battle system), but seeing him go from a well-dressed demonic man in a theatre to a bodyless mass of negativity controlling a world-recording device that was ravaging the world was insane as hell. There's just something about fighting a formless being that really gets me, something that Zanza nor Malos have. Zanza may have a warped form that becomes even more warped during the second phase of his battle and Malos...Malos only controlled a giant mech for his (which was still cool, all things considered), but Z has no concrete form, because he is an energy. It's just really cool.

@@neilbowes7214I, too, am also a Z fan XD I'm a sucker for villains who are manifestations of desires and, though he's not a super deep character, I'd argue that he isn't supposed to be. He's something that's easy to understand but hard to challenge: the very fear of change itself. He's probably my second favorite main villain in Xenoblade now, tied with Zanza but just behind Malos.
I too, like Z as a villain. I like many types of villains, but I particularly enjoy it when a villain has (and I'll borrow some on Nia's words here) world spanning web-like plans that they manipulate behind the scenes or in the shadows. Z reminds me of Emperor Palatine, which connection I noticed after seeing people compare N to Anakin Skywalker. Both these connections made the Star Wars fan in me very happy.
I love that Nia makes use of the Agnian Annihilator, since it was never destroyed, unlike the Kevesi Annihilator. I'm sure Melia would have made good use of it, though.
Bruh the KH fan inside me, was screaming when Noah & Mio were saying goodbye. I was just waiting for Noah to say, "I'll come back, I promise."
I like how origin just turned into Deus from Xenogears. Specifically the one merged with Merkava you see from the world map
And that party members from the previous games built Deus! I love the way this takes and twists so many Xenogears ideas.
The ending took me by surprise, up until that point - especially given Z's lines - I assumed that the worlds were paused on the verge of intersection and that when they did they would destroy each other and Origin's purpose was to repopulate or help create a stable fused universe, and it was fear that if this didn't work and what that new universe would look like that created Z from Origin's operating AI and the souls of the people on board. Instead Origin serves to recreate the universes because they're not merging but passing through each other and that passage/impact would leave the two empty after they separated. I never got any impression that it was the latter until the that last cut-scene.
His boss fight literally takes place on a stage. I already love Z so much. ♥️ Can't wait to play this game and see more of these characters!!

This fight is long, but not difficult. In fact, I beat him in my first attempt, as comparing to Zanza and Malos, who I took about 3 attempts each.
But in this long fight, on the part where the Hero we recruited come in to help when the party got separated, and especially in the final phase where the party is together again, with Melia and Nia also joining, are the best thing ever in this whole sequence.

I really do appreciate all the hero characters getting a chance in the final fight. When you form connections with party members but feel bad you can't bring all them into the final fight.

I know its supposed to be Noah' s face when Z's face starts changing, but the long 'hair' combined with Noah's bangs and face really makes it looks A LOT like Zanza.
RIGHT? That's soo what I initially thought and to be fair it would make a lot of sense!! Xc3 didn't have any traces of Klaus, and Z/Moebius kind of represents the driving force behind Zanza, his desire to maintain control over the world forever and never move forward.
I lose more than 5 times in hard mode on the first phase. After that, I won the battle. This fight is no JOKE.
I really like the monologues during the first phase. I've seen many people say after Chapter 5, the story misses the mark, as if it became another story... I mean, maybe they didn't pay attention to the Final Boss, each of your main characters are reaffirming their beliefs and experiences gained throughout the game. It's excellent storytelling through gameplay.
After chapter 5 the characters just keep repeating the same lines over and over again, which make most scenes extremely boring. In the end, nothing really matters because the party can't do shit to Z. M and N defeat him while you are just left there watching. Ouroboros was useless too. Not to mention that there are no real stakes here because even if the party failed to beat Z, someone else would show up after a few years. Z was essentially playing a game of RNG all this time. Statistics say that it was only a matter of time until he rolled the possibility of someone showing up and stopping him. Not to mention that his sole purpose was to maintain this world, yet in the end he says that he hates it and wants to destroy it. That's pretty radical for someone who is the literal personification of the fear of change.
Unlike some of these other angry commenters calling the entire game trash because they died and had to restart, I still think the game is in my top 5 games of all time.
But jeeeez, having all my healers suddenly get wiped, get booted back to the title screen, and having to redo an entire 1 hour boss fight with unskippable cutscenes really killed the hype for me here in this final boss...
I think 3 should have done what FC and 2 did and tell you more explicitly that if you lose to the final boss, you have to restart the fight from phase one. I don't really mind restarting the fight myself, deflating as it can be, but I think they should have made it more apparent you'll need to redo it from the start instead of simply asking if you're ready.
Buddy this boss is terrible game design, I was grossly overlevel'd and even found it to be a tedious slog, and then it was GG for every phase if I got Ashera in the chain attack command. Garbage!

Glad I beat this the first time through. This boss fight was like an hour and 30 min 😂 although I almost lost when they split the team into three. But I had 2 signifiers they just kept adding buffs to everyone Fiona and Lanza definitely came in clutch at the end

@@Ethral_ I highly doubt it. It's heavily implied that Noah and Mio's present is set hundreds or even thousands of years after Rex and Shulk's adventures. I know it'd be nice to see those characters again, but I'm pretty sure they're long dead and buried. They'd need to make some contrived reasons to bring the previous two protagonists into XC3's story.
Furthermore, i'm not sure how that'd translate into gameplay, since Noah and his friends are all kids again.
@@AlvinEarthworm See I disagree, I believe Rex and Shulk died on Aionios and separating the worlds likely brought them back to life as it’s shown everybody in the main cast goes back to being the age they were before the worlds collided (10 or so).

I’ve played a lot of single player games and JRPGs. This is up there for me as one of the most epic and well crafted final boss fights I’ve experienced. The absolute grind of it (took me close to 2 hours), with the constantly changing setting and mechanics, with the EPIC music changing through each stage, ending with an explosive climax…i think this is up there for me. Monolith and Nintendo are really some of the only developers these days that create final boss sequences like this. Nothing else in entertainment can bring you tension and excitement quite like this.

On the one hand, the spectacle of this boss fight easily makes it the best fight across the 3 games. As a villain/antagonistic force though, man was this a letdown. Having Z being the embodiment of refusing to change instead of being this awesome character like malos and zanza was monumentally disappointing. N and all of the other moebius were much more entertaining personally. Watching N just become an absolutely broken incel (more like N-cel yahaha) was just so interesting in comparison to "he's the manifestation of the darkness in us all". That's some kingdom hearts shit😂.
Still even if I didn't like the boss itself, the fight was beautiful and the game was just incredible. Cannot wait to see what the big dlc story gives us.
I completely agree with all you said here - this game was almost perfection in every way, but Z was so weak as a character compared to pretty much every other Xenoblade villain.
Still absolutely a terrific game overall, just wish they handled X, Y, and Z better, or had a more interesting villain behind them.
@@Midas526 agree. It also didn't help that I saw him being "Z" and thought that we were gonna be fighting another zanza the whole game with how the moebius names work. I thought he would've had a link to the xenoblade 1 version of zanza and, seeing his failure there, would've created his world to exist in perpetuity so no one would overpower and over throw him...
But nah, he's just our bad feelings🥺. I feel like they had much bigger and better ideas for him but towards the end of the writing they kinda tapered off. Like the ending itself was beautiful, but the rest of chapter 7 just felt way to **insert cliche lines about us ALL being part of the evil** stuff. Still like you said though it definitely didn't ruin the whole experience, critically i say its the best of the 3, and personally its only just behind xenoblade 2 for me.

I legit thought that Moebius was gonna be revealed to be the Ghosts from X (or, at least the people that the Ghosts take over would be the ones referred to as Moebius). The color scheme matches, the Origin interior is really similar to their ship designs, even Taion's comment about how the enemies here are neither organic or inorganic was pretty accurate for them. Black Tar even mentions how they can possess people. I feel like establishing the Ghosts as, like, this interdimensional threat that spans across multiple universes would've been a lot more interesting than what Moebius actually ended up being. Like, they could've been this parasitic race like the Aurum from Kid Icarus: Uprising, with Z being their first victim from Aionios. Maybe they need a host to survive, and give them a ton of power in return to ensure the survival of the host and the parasite; I dunno. As much as I loved the game, the Moebius reveal and some endgame stuff disappointed me just as much as Zanza's reveal back in the first game. Oh well!

Wish the final boss wasn't just a giant head you fought 5 times. I was hoping for a form like the last two games where it was a giant humanoid that was themed around duality or a Satan-like figure with the heads of X, Y, and Z. I was surprised Z had nothing to do with Klaus though. I know the last two games made it pretty clear both sides of Klaus were destroyed, but I thought it was a possibility considering the game takes place in a mashup of the X1 and X2 worlds.

Because they’re dead. The Bionis and Alrest merge happens way after the endings of 1 and 2, and even the ending of 3 only shows Poppi and Nia from Alrest, basically confirming Morag, Zeke, Rex, and their blades are dead/back in their core crystal.

Ill probably get slammed with hate but whatever. Z bores the hell out of me. At least i can enjoy watching Zanza or Malos/Amalthus do their thing, and actually charge at you. Z reminds me WAY TOO MUCH of the Architect from the Matrix, though i actually really like the idea of him residing in a theatre, never seen that before in fiction. The Moebius were interesting(half of them anyway), and kept my attention. To me, the only good thing about Z is his boss battle.
Honestly most people didn’t like Z so you’re not alone. I think he’s the weakest villain because while I love the fact that he’s the culmination of humanity’s unwillingness to change, I hate how he’s so bland as a character. At that point why even make him look human?
@@asprinjuice425 Seriously, Moebius X was more interesting to me, though Z being the definition of humanity's stagnation was ok, he served his purpose. Either X or D would've been better choices as the villain. Or hell, a version of Shulk that was possessed by Z, but due to Shulk's power, intelligence, and status as someone who had Godhood potential, ended up assimilating Z and destroying his personality, while simultaneously darkening Shulk entirely and make him CLAIM his rejected Godhood to rule Aionios. That would've been better then Z by a million miles.

This was a good game. The final boss fight? Very disappointed. Expected more when earlier in the game there were much unique fights. We got generic Boss head # 547773 which is lame. They could have done more with Z.

Z was using Origin´s capabilities, a supercomputer, reason why his final form is a gigantic hologram, makes completely sense within what is happening in the story. And rushed final boss? are you serious, this is the longest and most cinematic final boss in the entire xeno franchise by a good margin. There is nothing in 1 and 2 climax fight that comes close to Melia and Nia using giant mechs (again anther homage to the xeno series foundations) to fight their hijacked creation (Origin).
