Got this game for Christmas and your video was absolutely EPIC for consolidating knowledge from the book that comes with it. Also your commentary is god tier :D
when you use an action with an ally, the ally takes damage on health if there's a pow sign under number on thwart or attack. One of thors allies has 2 under attack so when he attacks he loses two health for example.
Oh. I haven’t been tapping my character when I block - just subtracting block from the attack. That’s probably why my games have been so easy! THIS is why I love and hate these videos. Good to learn, hate finding out I don’t know how to read a rule book as well as I think I do :)
Subbing. Your explanation and green screen of the zoom in of the cards is incredible Thank you for putting together an awesome video. A lot of others quickly gloss over the rules/don't go as in depth Much appreciated :)
I'm only 2 minutes in but your enthusiasm is making my day. I just got this game last week and still trying to figure out how to play, especially since I'll finally get to play with my best friend soon. I've never played a game like this before so I have a ton of questions that aren't covered in the rule book so I'm excited to watch the rest of this video and see how it's done right.
This video is amazing! I'm like LOL all the way through it... while still learning how to play! And if before seeing this video I was pretty happy with the game itself, now I just can't wait to play it over and over!!! Thanks Rahdo!!!!
Love the view. I get so tired of seeing people's face on my big screen and i'm trying to see more of the game, not some talking head. You done a good job. From all the videos, this convinced me to buy this game. Thanx bruh
Great video, thank you. Just in time when I managed to hunt down a copy over here in Germany for a reasonable price - game had sold out at Essen Spiel before I even arrived 😤 really looking forward to playing it solo though you really managed to show how easily you can lose track of some of the rules..
I'm new to Marvel Champions and have only played once so far. First, Great video! I was testing my own knowledge and caught a couple of things. 1) 17:00 - I believe Tigra should have taken consequential damage when she used her Attack. 2) 28:46 - On the villain attack phase, you look for Boost icons which I know you know that, but (Star icons were mentioned, but Star icons actually do something different). 3) 30:40 - if you would have been Jennifer and the villain schemed, I believe you would have added 2 threat to the scheme not 1 as mentioned, because the card that came up during that phase had 1 boost icon + 1 from the Rhino card.
thanks for watching and the goof checking! all three of those were called out in the klingon subtitles, so definitely turn those on if you're going to watch any more of my vids (I actually pay a fellow named paulo to keep me honest, and all of his good corrections appear in the klingon captions!) :)
Hey! I haven’t tuned in for a while just because life/responsibilities have kept me from buying new games recently. Anyways getting back into the hobby and I have to say your video quality is phenomenal compared to just like 8ish months ago!!
I am trying to choose between this and Lotr LCG. I am not a fan of Marvel universe, while I like a lot Tolkien's universe. At the same time Marvel Champions seems to be a better game and easier from a deckbuilding perspective... help!!
lotr is definitely heavier and more complex, and longer as well. all those things make me prefer marvel actually because it's more streamlined and doens't require as much rechecking of rules
This looks good and all but is it worth getting if you already have Sentinels with every character? I still need to play it more. Only have 30+ to try! Thanks Rahdo as always! 😎🤘
I own everything of Sentinels as well. I got Marvel Champions (MC) because it looked good and interesting. Here is a quick assessment from owning and playing both. 1. MC is a much quicker game. The set up and tear down is about 5 minutes each. This is outside of building a hero deck but that can be quick as well. A solo game (1 hero) has taken between 30 - 60 minutes and it is less fiddly compared to Sentinels. 2. Sentinels has more variety due to age. With Sentinels being complete, you have 24 villains, 37 heroes, and 27 environments. And that is not counting variants, Team villain game mode, and Oblivaeon game mode. However, I could see in a few years MC having a similar amount of variety. 3. MC has a nice player to hero ratio. You can play from 1 to 4 heroes facing the villain and it works well. In Sentinels, you have to have 3-5 heroes or the game breaks. Trust me, I have tried with other numbers. 4. In MC, you can adjust your hero deck in how you want to play that Hero. As Rahdo states in the beginning, you can have play Spider-Man as Aggro (wanting to punch everything) or maybe as a Leader (having a bunch of allies and helping teammates. All in all, I like both games. I will choose MC if I want something quicker or want to try something with a hero. Sentinels will be chosen if I don't want to worry about building decks and I have more time. Hope this helps.
Jim McEwan wow thanks for that detailed review on both games. I guess I need to head back to bass pro shop to sit in Santa’s lap this weekend again! 😎🤘
Since you activated Rhino (II)'s effect as though he had entered mid-game, shouldn't She-Hulk's alter-ego interrupt have triggered, and prevented 1 of those threat?
For Rhino's Expert Difficulty the rules has you play Rhino card 1 with Rhino card 3 behind it, instead of 2 to 3. Love your videos and the set up to show cards larger! Always a job well done!
That close up view of the cards is top notch for this game.
I haven’t watched the videos in a while and I’m blown away by the close up green screen cam! Such a good idea
His camera set ups are awesome now. Super impressed.
Came here to say the same!
came to say this. no need no more. have a like.
He needs to bundle his setup and sell it to other board game reviewers. He has perfected it.
Got this game for Christmas and your video was absolutely EPIC for consolidating knowledge from the book that comes with it. Also your commentary is god tier :D
A fantastic way to teach the rules. Learned very easily this way.
The moment I saw that zoomed in green cam I subscribed. You are brilliant.
Thank you for this play through. Love the new Playthrough format. You in the top corner and the zoom in overlay space. really cool!!
Out of all the playthrough vids I’ve seen, this was the most clear and concise. Thank you Rahdo!

yup, watch with the klingon subtitles turned on you'll see it's noted. plus i fixed it later on :)

Much appreciated :)
Just bought the base game. You're channel is always the first place I go when learning a new game. Thanks for the video
This video really helped me out. Just got the game and the directions are good, but this is better! Love the card camera you have setup.

glad to hear it, but make sure you've got those klingon subtitles turned on because i do make a few goofs here and there! :)
@30:08 - another reason why I love this channel. LOL
This is how runplay video should looks like! Perfect one! I am new in Marvel Champions and you get me overview and fun time! Thank you!
Great video! I love your instructions and enthusiasm.
This video is amazing! I'm like LOL all the way through it... while still learning how to play! And if before seeing this video I was pretty happy with the game itself, now I just can't wait to play it over and over!!! Thanks Rahdo!!!!
This video was actually perfect for me. Advance was also the first boost card I drew and I wasn't certain whether the scheme activated or not.
This is helpful. I’m new to card games and have struggled to remember the steps. Thanks!
Nice work with the green screen cam. Nice add to the game play to get those close ups!
Love the view. I get so tired of seeing people's face on my big screen and i'm trying to see more of the game, not some talking head. You done a good job. From all the videos, this convinced me to buy this game. Thanx bruh
Thank you for this! Had some trouble figuring out how the game works, this made things a lot clearer!
YESSS!!! Ive been waiting for you to play this

Been waiting for this !!!! Finally!
Thank you
So clear and concise, thank you
always keep aunt may. she comes in really handy and on of the best cards spiderman has. loving this game and great playthrough 👍

Cool video good job
first time trying a game like this a lil overwhelmed THANKS
Very helpful, thanks for the video! Looking forward to play
Cool gameplay good job 👍🏻

here's a thread where folks discuss this in depth: boardgamegeek.com/thread/2565174/your-opinion-lotrlcg-compared-mc
Quality playthrough as usual
Great quality video. Really helped
Thank you sir. As always very helpful.
I always want to play the villains.
Great video thanks man!
Doesn't the side scheme go back into the villain deck discard pile rather than being removed from the game?
timestamp please
I think im going to miss the locations like Arkham Horror LCG
i wont
Doesn't break-in and takin have 6 threat on it because it starts with 2?
timestamp please
Nope. BnT only requires 1 threat token per player, not 2, so the right amount is really 4.
How does the fair vs lord of the rings lcg from a gameplay perspective?
lotr is definitely heavier and more complex, and longer as well. all those things make me prefer marvel actually because it's more streamlined and doens't require as much rechecking of rules
Consequential damage on Tigra ;)
yup, mentioned in the klingon subtitles :)

Tyvan TV yes because Marvel Champions is actually a good game
Vincent J. Rubio thanks for the reply! I to like that artwork.

What about the obligation cards?
they're very cool! :)
Can tigra defend if she doesn't have a defence?
any minion can defend, they just take the damage
err, i meant, "any ally" :)
breakin and takin goes to the villain discard pile . Why did you throw it away :D
my discard pile is just off camera :)
This is incredibly helpful. Thank you for this video.
Unsleved cards make me anxious
i find them exhilarating! :)
When my grandkids get hold of my old games, I want them to look like they're old and been well played!
Since you activated Rhino (II)'s effect as though he had entered mid-game, shouldn't She-Hulk's alter-ego interrupt have triggered, and prevented 1 of those threat?
timestamp please
FINALLLYYYYYYY!!!! ;)
Your card shuffle made me cringe a little lol. Ah the cards are bending! 😅😅
Metal organism designed only for killing / komputing.
Modok
that's it! :)
30:42 When he schemes you also draw boost card ;)
yup, noted in the klingon subtitles
BEHOOVE!!!! (sorry , my favorite word).
For Rhino's Expert Difficulty the rules has you play Rhino card 1 with Rhino card 3 behind it, instead of 2 to 3.
Love your videos and the set up to show cards larger! Always a job well done!
Not according to Rhino card, or learn to play book.
It's me
I want to get the starter set but it's over $60 on Amazon
