For the amount of money I spent on this fridge, I shouldn't have to reset both ice makers and run a test cycle every 2 weeks.
Literally every 2 weeks this thing stops making cubed ice, and the craft ice maker stops working as well.
I seriously regret buying this thing.

I followed the instructions in this video and found 3 craft cubes stuck in the ice tray. Save yourself some time and use the reset button but have a mirror so you can see what's going on inside the ice tray. I couldn't really tell just by feeling the space (until it was empty...now I know the difference in how it feels). I used a bike bottle with really hot water and squirted it into the open tray after I pressed the reset button a 2nd time and the tray was wide open. After a couple squirts the ice balls fell right out. Note: I tried this before using a turkey baster without hitting that reset button as I had a hunch I had frozen ice balls in there, but the baster didn't put enough water in the tray and without it being fully open, wasn't as effective. Also, I had a baking sheet and some rags in the bottom of the fridge to catch the water during the test cycle. Cleaned up easily. Good luck. I love my craft ice with gin and tonic! Worth the effort.

I’ve had so much trouble with this craft ice maker. It’s gotten so frustrating. Ice kept getting stuck to the molds. I tried to fix it several times with limited success. Prying the ice out, using a heat gun, everything short of removing it until today. I had enough and today I took the entire assembly out and noticed hard water minerals stuck to the molds. I used lime-a-way. I let it sit in the mold for 20-30 min. Used a tooth brush and a few other brushes. It took a lot of work to get it all off. After I had finally gotten all the hard water minerals removed and cleaned it all up, I reinstalled it. Set it for 6 ice balls a day setting. If this doesn’t work, I’ll have to buy an entire new assembly, as LG does not sell parts for it. Just the whole assembly. I don’t believe the craft ice maker is worth it in the long run. Problems with it are inevitable. It’s a certainty.
Hey there, David. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention as we understand the importance of having proper craft ice balls for your everyday needs. Our spheres get stuck and make a horrendous knocking noise. We wasted so much money because of the craft ice feature that now never works. It’s a brand new fridge too.

One very annoying thing is that lg support always tells you to put it in test mode by pressing the reset button…. But the carefully avoid telling you where this hidden button is..
I HAVE A FRNCH door model with the craft ice maker in the drawer under the fridge
It is hard to see what is going in with the craft ice maker… so get a flashlight
Once you can see the craft ice maker… you will see a wire underneath
This wire is a tester to make sure there is space for the unit to dump the ice
You will see it has the shape of a square “C”
So….the reset button is close to where this wire is attached to the front of the unit
If the power on the unit is on…. And you press the button… the unit will cycle
First ether wire will come down and check for space… then the plastic ice holder tray will lower down to dump the ice,
So… in my case… the problem was no ice… the reason was that the ice did not fall out of the ice making tray
So I sort of carefully poked at the tray when it was in down position and got the ice to fall out
Btw….an added symptom of my problem was I kept only getting one ball… not three
Now I realize the reason was ice was not falling out of 2 of the three ice making spaces
Hope this helps someone

Respectfully, I think your department could better understand the problem if you would pay a few people to be temporary test owners of your product. And offer to give them a bonus if they can figure out how to operate the craft ice maker test mode…. only by using the materials that you provide your customers. Ideally they would all get the bonus… and if none of them get the bonus… you may have a communication problem you should address

I got my new LG fridge with a craft ice maker Christmas 2020. In my first year I had the craft ice maker serviced twice, I just ran out of my warranty and it is broken for the third time. That doesn't include the 8 or so times I had to reset the ice maker. It is frustrating.

@@LGUSASupport LG you should try to help people like us . Spent over 4K on the " fancy" LG fridges abd it has been tbe worst appliance I have ever purchase. The craft ice maker has been broken over 4 times I the 2 years I have it. Horrible experience. Will NOT recommend to anyone e to purchase a LG fridge
You say to use test mode.. what is test mode?
Hello there! The Test Mode will make the fridge check its main control board and other crucial systems for problems. In doing so, the mode will look for problems with the fridge’s cooling system and other basic functions. If any errors or problems are found during the Test Mode, the fridge will communicate it to you through error codes. More specifically, an LED on the main control board will blink a specific number of times to indicate the problem it’s facing.
If you need any further assistance, you can get in touch with us on our Facebook or Twitter via @LGUSSupport. We'll be glad to hear from you. -Francine
Mine is not making ice anymore. I've reset multiple times and no water comes out. I don't think there's any ice stuck but since I can't stand on my head inside the freezer to clearly see what's going on, hard to say. Does anyone have a picture of the unit with or without ice stuck? I have a picture and felt around so I really don't think I have anything frozen/stuck. Thanks for any help.

My LG Craft Ice maker has stopped producing ice, water is filling the tray and freezing and also a thin layer of ice is forming in the bottom of the freezer, there is a load thumping sound once in a while.

When using the reset button the tray will go to the empty position but only returns to a position about 1/2 way back to the ice producing position. Anyone have the same issue and a possible solution? I try forcing the tray while pressing the reset button but this does not work either.

Same issue here but no solution yet
How can I tell my heating element is the issue. Power switch is on. Ran the test, functions work but does not eject ice. Is there a heating element test?

Exactly! It’s not clear where this is
That was my problem too. And that diagram was so small along with it's labeling... There needs to be a verbal description along with the diagram.
I now know that if you put anything inside of the ice tray it “thinks” it has ice in the tray (because it’s heavy) and the ice maker will not make any ice . I had put a half gallon ice cream container in the ice tray (bc I ran out of room) and this is why my ice maker wasn’t making ice- it detected additional weight thinking it was ice. Once I removed this extra weight it started making ice . Now ya know 😏😂
Where the heck is the reset button? I have watched this video over and over and I still can't figure out where that reset button is.

At the bottom front of the craft ice maker. There’s 2 little nibs on either side of a flat square button. It’s hard to find. But once you find it, you won’t forget. Mainly because you’ll be using it a whole lot.
All these videos but no video about what to do about ice cubes getting stock in the ice maker. Many people complained about this no one product a video that fixed the issue.

Forget the on off switch. You have stuck ice. Theres a reset button hidden under the ice making tray. When this button is pushed the tray system will rotate and any stuck ice will fall out. Problem solved.
Our fridge is less than six months old the top icemaker stopped working and now the bottom one has stopped as well. It is a real piece of S**H!

Bought this expensive fridge after Christmas 2020 and have nothing but trouble with the in freezer craft ice maker, including getting clueless service support. It randomly produces ice balls once or twice a week if at all. Went on vacation for two weeks and no production, a week later I find the ice maker has flooded the collection tray and powered unit off. This is poor design and or poor construction, do not buy this product!

Because LG makes garbage.
For a year LG had been promising to extend our warranty and send us a replacement craft ice maker and every month I contact them and start all over again.
Lesson learned, NEVER BUY LG
My refrigerator is 3 days old and not making craft ice WTF .....

Nothings helped…my fridge is like 5 months old and craft ice was working but now it just pops and will not harvest/release ice. Paid over 4K for a fridge and I’m cpu savvy and the Wi-Fi connections an utter joke thus far. LG has no support that helps unless you open your wallet some more. I’ll delete this post if LG literally issues some real advice on how to remedy this issue. FRUSTRATING to say the least. And I only bought this fridge cuz the supply was LOW….
