The stars is just a security feature.
The number of asterisks (AKA: Stars) are meaningless from those hogwash vloggers and bloggers out there about their presumption. The fact behind the legitimate information is from the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. They quote "The Star symbol is not of any signifance". It implies the random security feature for the U.S. Department of State to prevent a forged visa sticker. We live in the quarter part of the 21st century, where scamming attempts are possible on all corners around the globe.
The Asterisks (*, **, * *, *** and more added combinations) are electronically chosen at random after the visa issuance to throw off the sequel pattern for any third party scamming attempts. It is not specifically assigned to non-immigrant visa in particular. I know this, because my B1/B2 visa (Also non-immigrant visa) contains both asterisks as so **
sir i have forgotten my old application no. and iam applying for the renewal of my visa, how to find my old application. even i have tried to find through retrieve module again its asking for application no. pl. help
Thank you
Hi Prof, if my visa is issued on 31 July and my program start date is 7 August and if I couldn't prepare within 1 week and go so I decided to defer my program to spring what happens to my already issued visa? Thanks
If you cannot prepare in a week, just ask the school for a late arrival letter. You can even come a little late. The most important thing is to get your visa approved.
I applied as an international student but my visa has ** stars I hope is not going to affect me
I don’t think it will affect you. The information on the number of stars is confusing. I have seen several different meanings for it.

There were different information on the stars online. You should not bother about it.
