    I’ll share a good story. I just had my 3rd baby and it ended up being my best birth! I love my ob and the nurses were supportive and amazing. Recovery is also going well.

    Had my c section yesterday i just want to say it was so much better than i imagined, super quick, anesthesia was fast and easy, the only hard part was me controlling my thoughts and emotions during the surgery breathing to keep calm, my baby was perfectly fine, the pain has been minimal and i actually am down to almost no vaginal bleeding on day 2 so it's possible! I've only been taking Tylenol and walking around and eating. 💞💞🙏🙏

    I gave birth to my son 21 months ago, and am currently 5 months pregnant with a little girl.
    Love all of your content, it got me through labor with my last baby and I’m sure it’s going to help me this time, too! I’m also taking one of your classes with my husband and we are loving it. 🤍

    Hi Sarah! My last birth was in hospital and I ended up having a lot of interventions that I still don’t feel were necessary and could have been avoided. Going into my next birth (I’m due in March! 🎉) how can I advocate for the birth I want even when some things go against “policy”? Like pushing positions and going past a certain amount of time after water breaks. Thanks so much for all that you do! Being educated gives me so much PeACE!

    Health insurance had been a nightmare, and I am very very limited with what providers I can go with. While I am trying to interview what little options I have, there is a good chance I won’t have the “ideal”. What would be your advice if I end up with a doctor who doesn’t align with my birth preferences?

    I've watched your videos on c-sections so far; but could you touch on what to expect if you go into labor before a scheduled CS? Currently pregnant with #6 and because #4 was percipitous labor (75 mins for total labor and delivery and it would've been faster if my OB hadn't tried slowing it down so my husband could get there) and #5 had a shoulder dystocia we are opting for elective CS. But, 4 out of 5 have all been born at 38 weeks (the quick one was technically at 39w2d) and CS can't be scheduled until 39.

      I had a client who went into labor, but was having a scheduled C-section due to her baby being breech. Because she was full term, they just went ahead and did the C-section then at that time. If it’s preterm though they might be able to give you something to stop labor from progressing. Hope that helps☺️!

    I have a serious question I really really hope you see and can answer.
    I have lichen sclerosus, and have for about 14 years now. It itched and my labia would tear in the folds between the inner and outers, and sometimes around my perineum. My skin went through the color changes over the years, and the itching and tearing would come and go. But I never got it diagnosed before I had my son because I assumed it from regular yeast infections .
    I had my son 3 years ago, and either during the end of my pregnancy or shortly after he was born, this condition that had been relatively stable suddenly got a lot worse. My labia actually fused completely together over about a year. My inner labia are just GONE, absorbed into the outer ones from the scar tissue building up every time those folds tore again. The tearing started happening constantly, with almost no stress on the skin. If I sat down or stood up too fast and my skin stuck to itself for even half a second, it would tear. My labia got so thin before they fused you could see through them. They literally looked like wet tissue paper. Even after the fusing, the skin still tears at the drop of the hat, but now it's in my perineum area and the fold up front where my labia meet the rest of my body.
    I've tried multiple dermatologists, close to a dozen medications, and none of the normal stuff works to make my skin less fragile. The only ones that have helped are dupixent as an off label use, and cyclosporin, which is an immunosuppressent, and I'm told it's not safe for pregnancy or breastfeeding.
    My question I need help with is have you heard of this kind of thing before, and what are my tearing risks if I try to do a vbac on the Second kid? I haven't found an obgyn yet in my area with a lot of lichen experience, and I literally can't even use toilet paper to wipe without tearing sometimes. I use baby wipes because there's less friction. And if I come off the current treatment for pregnancy, my skin will go back to tissue paper. I've already tried coming off it once to see what my skin would do, and in 6 weeks it reverted back. My dermatologist says it's not a safe medicine to be on for life, but they have nothing else for me to try. So I'm back on it while we try to figure something out.
    I really really want a second child in a few years, but my c section experience was horrible. I ended up having severe nerve pain that made me limp on my left side for a year, then an incisional hernia popped up in the spot the nerves were hurting while I was in line buying Xmas gifts. I had surgery to fix it a year after the surgery to have my son, then had a very slow painful recovery from that and spent months working with a pelvic floor physical therapist to fix it.
    I'm Terrified of trying another c section, but if I can't even use toilet paper or twist in my seat sitting down without a minor skin tear, how much major tearing is going to happen with a vbac? I haven't found a obgyno in my area yet with a lot of lichen experience, so I'm hoping you might know some things or have had lichen patients? Birth is obviously not something my dermatologist can offer advice or knowledge on.
    I know this is extremely specific but it would mean so much to me if you could answer this in your next coffee and questions!
    (I also have vulvadynia, and take medicine for that. I don't think it's relevant to my question but just in case.)

    After my birth of my twins, the first time they had me get up to go to bathroom, I was sitting there on the toilet and I told the nurse I felt like I was going to pass out, so she goes to get me up to get back in bed and I stood up and took a few steps and I guess passed out, my husband said it looked like a had a mini seizure, he said I was blinking a lot. But I came to and I honestly felt amazing it was so odd, I felt like a took a nap lol. But I also still to this day don’t know what happened or why it happened, the only explanation I got was my body just needed a reset after the birth, lol I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I had gestational hypertension with my first and ended up being induced to avoid preeclampsia. I'm pregnant with baby number two and really hoping to go into labor on my own this time. Am I more likely to have to have blood pressure issues this time because I had them the first time? My Dr does have me on baby aspirin and so far so good but just curious on my odds of being able to go into labor naturally?

    • @ShadesofSage
      @ShadesofSage 2 года назад +2

      I had preeclampsia with my first birth and had to be induced as well. That ended up in a C-section for me. But I was able to have 2 vaginal births after that and never had preeclampsia again. I went into labor on my own both times also. I didn’t take the baby aspirin either. All the best to you momma🙏🏿!

    Hi! I'm currently pregnant with baby number 3. My first labor was 6 hours total, 30 min pushing. Second labor was 2 hrs and 45 min -from first contraction to baby being out - in one push. What do you recommend for this baby? My birthing center is an hour away and I need to drop kids off before going to the hospital - which adds an extra 30 min drive. I'm scared for how things will go this time with an hour and a half just for the driving.

    I recently discovered that it is common practice at my birthing hospital for providers to use generic baby shampoo as a lubricant during birth?!? I have my 38 week appointment tomorrow and will discuss with my provider but I also wondered if you were aware of this practice and any benefits you can share. I personally have a hard time believing that putting a soap product not designed for internal use is beneficial to anyone during labor so why is this a thing?

    Question: I had GDM during my first pregnancy and just got diagnosed again at 26 weeks. The first time around my team at the hospital told me that they needed fasting blood sugar tests from the baby so they prevented me from breastfeeding on demand. If the problem they are checking for is low blood sugar and the treatment is food why would I hold back feeding? Is this the typical procedure? (Just watched your GDM video and it was so helpful! Thank you for what you do!)

I am having my 3rd and praying really hard that this baby doesn't end up in the NICU. First was in the NICU for 24 days and then the second was in for 12 days. Are there any natural ways or other medications besides zofran to help with nausea and vomiting during labor? With my son I vomited during active labor up until 7.5cm when my epidural was finally redone. Nothing helped and it made me unable to get in any deep breaths and relax. I had back to back contractions with only seconds in between… and those seconds were me throwing up! 😭 35 weeks pregnant with my second and want to plan if it happens again.

    Hi Sarah. Question (from uk) - i watched your meconium video. in my last 2 births my waters were broken and there was light meconium (faint yellow) - I was overdue when I went into labour. I was told I needed to go straight on the hormone drip to speed things up due to meconium. Id really like avoid the drip this time round - if there’s meconium is it essential to go on hormone drip if baby looks happy?

  • @heavenoverton416

    Hello! I love watching your videos and I had a question. I had my first baby in March and I had to be induced due to pre-eclampsia. I know for most women, when they have their 2nd, 3rd, etc babies labor is faster each time because their body already knows what to do. When I have my second (sometime in the future) should my body react as if it's my 2nd time giving birth or will it be like the 1st time all over again because I didn't have a natural onset of labor?

    • @jessicak7965
      @jessicak7965 2 года назад

      I can only say my experience, but my 1st was induced due to my water breaking and contractions never starting. With my 2nd labor started spontaneously and was quicker. So I would say it acted like a 2nd birth. My 3rd and 4th births were pretty similar to my 2nd.
