The tightening torques for piston bolts are 20 Nm and 90 degrees. For common rail pipes 40 Nm and for injector harnes 1.5 Nm. I did the same job for CLAAS XERION OM 473 engine yesterday.

Ay Carlos, absolutely appreciate your content! My brother and I did our valve lash and EB recently and all thank's to your vids!. You and Fransisco Amaya are my go to guy's. I have a question for you.... last year my motor seized up from lack of oil psi. I had a low mile used dd15 installed, however I don't think they ever reprogrammed my ecm with the injectors on this motor. I've read that if the mechanic doesn't do the programming there can potentially be issue's, such as power loss/gain, hot spot's from certain cylinders or cold spot's, rough idle at start ups. Simply bc the emc is still programmed with the old injectors. All that I mentioned I'm getting. However, would you advise me to grab those code's off the injectors and program them? Also, do I have to grab the P/N off all injectors or can I get it off bank 1 and use it for all of them? Will I be able to get the S/N with injectors installed? I have the DDDL software so I can just hit "read" so it'll pull all the code's.
Thank you in advance and as always, keep up the GREAT CONTENT!!! 🤙🏽

      I appreciate the compliment.
I would recommend inputting the injector codes and it will ask you for the part number. That you can grab off the injector and it should be the same for all of them.

Ay Pedro. So I finally had the opportunity to try to get my injectors updated in my ECM. The issue now is that, when I press "read" it will not read the code's on any of the injectors, it just shows 4 question marks. Then on the right side window it shows the value of .0497 on all 6 injectors, im assuming the ECM automatically sets that value when it doesn't recognize the injector(s). Is this happening because my ECM doesn't recognize the injectors and will need to input the code's manually? 🤔. I thought of pressing "reset learned data" but didn't want to chance messing anything up. I'm in Fontana, so I might have a mechanic I know check it out as I need him to realign my driveline(s)(yoke to yoke, u-joint to u-joint)
Again, I appreciate your advice, content and knowledge! 🤙🏽

What was the code that came up for injector replacement? I have code fail 5 spn 653 on my 2014 dd15. We just replaced the engine sensor harness 120 pin and the ecm from some other mutiple code problems that were inaccurate . I got this injector code two days later. After the repairs Had loss of power. Definitely no communication with injector 3. From the lost of power and rough idle. After getting the code and lost of power. The code came off on its own next day. Worked the truck locally for two days after that and the code is back. My guess it could be the injector harness or a rare thing i could have bought a bad new engine harness from freightliner. What you think? And let me know the code you got for the injector please. Great video. I'm subscribed buddy

Anytime I have a fault code for an injector, I always go with low hanging fruit or the easy option depending on what is going on. Based on your fault code, it looks like your injector could be bad but it could also be the injector harness.
Is your injector harness the original?

Thank you!!! Quick questions regarding Detroit Series 60 14L
My mechanic recently replaced 3 injectors and all 6 injector cups and my trucks performance became worse that just white smoke from the exhaust. I was unable to get to 60mph and I had trouble starting my struck. it would take about 10 secs for my truck to start due to needing the fuel to get going. I recently learned after taking my truck back to the shop they didn't replace the O rings or torque down bolts on injectors 4 5 and 6. Could this be causing air to leak into my fuel lines and for my performance to be worse. Also, there was a high pitch knocking sound from front of my engine. My mechanic stated injector 4 could be causing injector 1 to make that sound. (not sure if this is accurate). He also stated it was easier for him to diagnose what's going on if we replaced the injector harness. Due to the cost of the harness we decided to do so. We will continue to trouble shoot what's going on tomorrow. I have purchase o ring kits for injectors 4 5 and 6 along with the torque down bolts.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!!!

Hi there, I've just finished the installation of a new injector on my 2014 freightliner cascadia dd15. I've fired the engine and run at idle and all injectors are firing as they should. Im on the road in a location without computer equipment.

    • @CarlosDieselElectric

Desvaríos de un Camionero Detroit recommends a valve adjust be done at 100K miles, then at 500K miles. So if your truck is at 554K miles, I would recommend it. Over time the valves will wear and the clearances are not the same, sometimes they get tighter and the engine will not run as efficient.

    • @CarlosDieselElectric

Each injector has a code specific to each injector. When an injector or injectors are replaced the code has to be entered in to the MCM (engine computer). Chris Hale no, it would not require that you realign the injector since it is secured in place. I always remove the valve cover just to make sure I am centered when I install the fuel line. • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  5 лет назад +1

Chris Hale could be diesel, when the tube meets the injector there is a small o-ring on the injector. I recommend to spray brake cleaner around the seal, start the engine and see if you can determine if it’s diesel or just motor oil. You may have to keep the RPM’s up for awhile to see where the leaking is coming from. Does it smell like diesel? Also, check the Hi Pressure lines off of the Hi Pressure pump. One of those may be leaking.

I purchased the one in the video from Snap-On (P/N 1250), I am pretty sure you can something similar from Harbor Freight or some place similar. Also, I know Detroit sell an injector puller (J-47391), I have seen some online from $500 on up towards $900 but the tool I use works just as well and less expensive.
