You took the words right out of my mouth….although this adult toddler was probably counting on that as just one more thing to push her into saying yes.
You would think this was common sense...though I'm inclined to believe he knew the answer would be no, so he tried to make the situation so she couldn't refuse. Big 🚩
They make a public spectacle purposely to pressure the woman to say yes. Thats why he had the reaction he did, his intimidation and bullying didn’t work. He seems like the type that never hears the word NO.
If he's willing to act like that towards her in public when they're not even married, nor probably in a serious relationship, then how he is going to act if they are? She dodged a missle.

Agreed. I can maybe see why some people find it to be a grand and romantic gesture, but personally, I'd like something quiet, intimate, and personal. It should be about us in that moment and not a crowd of strangers.
Yeah. It's weird. I live in Mexico on the beach and there's a service here that puts out a red carpet, rose petals and HUGE "Marry Me" letters on the beach. It's always awkward and often accompanied by their friends waiting in the wings. 😮
If this were me i would be mortified. This would be way too much. Him grabbing her after she refused was incredibly disturbing. This is the moment when you let her go when this happens and you take the L and learn not to do this again.
WHEN are people going to learn that love has NO price tag on it?!!! It does NOT!!! If she accepted the car and started a relationship with him that would’ve been a horrible one. I am just glad that my fiancé loves me for who I am. It’s not what I have that impresses her. It’s who I am really.
@@Findpepperbridgewell yes, but is very upfront relationship, that is a talked and agreed arrangement. What he did is not good. The average person won’t want to get with someone if they havent known each other for over 3 months and bought something so extreme, PLUS a public proposal when you haven’t talked about marriage. Unless you are offering to give said luxury and they reciprocate such extremes (accepting), it will feel like too much.
Maybe money can’t buy love, but it certainly can buy marriages. Quantitative aspects still rank high in Asia. A man needs to have good income, a car, a house, and can buy her LV bags.
And that’s all he brings to the table it seems. Most people prefer significant others with more substance. You can’t buy love or a yes from a sane person.
@@lapris7380 Agreed, but tell that to the average "modern" woman. Most seem to prefer money over love and stability. They think true happiness comes from"stuff". I feel really bad for them, but it seems like thefeminism lie is working. The number of women over 30 who are depressed and medicated is increasing daily, while the number of men going overseas to find wives is on the rise. give it another twenty years and the only women in the USA will be cat ladies.
My husband went all out for a proposal… he rolled over in bed, looked at me and said “we should get married” It was everything I ever wanted! 😂 The 18th of this month is our 36th anniversary ❤
I proposed to my husband over the phone while he was out of state for 2 months for Air Force. He said yes, but wanted to move the date A year sooner. 34 years and going strong.
This is in China (read: normal behaviour). A super-rich, spoilt kid proposed to his Ukrainian girlfriend. She didn’t want to marry him because, according to her, he was a bad-tempered, entitled mommy’s boy. Money cannot always buy you love. She dodged the bullet with this one. Horrible!
Poor guy. Accidentally bought a bouquet of red flags instead of roses. [Edited to add]: literal red flags are used for warning of danger. In this case, him proposing after casually dating for only 3 months is a ridiculously huge red flag. Specifically this flag is referred to as "love bombing.'
I warned my husband very early on that I would LOATHE a public proposal. He ultimately made it in a park where other people were around but didn't have a reason to look at us. This, though? Horrific.
Him grabbing her like that was a tad bit frightening 😢 imagine what he's capable of behind close doors? Thank God she left. I really hope this was just a stunt 😂 cuz man, this mad wild. He won't be able to recover from that outlandish behavior
I have a few rich asian friends from high school, one is from hong kong. Hes okay to hang out with but he is a bit of a jerk. He doesnt go all out like this but his MO was to impress women with his money and then would go absoluetly balistic when they started dating if he didnt get his way. He perceives women as something he bought. He threw a chair in a restaurant once because his GF was sick and had to cancel a dinner we were going to. When were kids he was kind of like this, not as bad but when he started making his own money (his dad gave him a business to run, but hes actually really smart any way) he got worse. Hes always bragging about the women he slept with, even while dating someone, even when he had a fiance
He really thought she loved him for his money, She probably liked him because he seemed like a nice guy (at first), but he showed his true colors by the way he handled that rejection.
I had a sinking feeling these kinds of proposals were becoming more and more common, kinda gives the vibe of some people thinking "if I can force my partner to marry me I definitely will", eugh
I am not Chinese but I have watched some videos of people who are in China and the attitude towards domestic violence by the police. it is considered typically a family matter the wife is screaming and hitting the husband or vice versa things really have to get out of hand before the police will consider stepping in on domestic violence in public to a child as well.
This is why I can’t stand huge public proposals. Basically if the woman says no she’s seen as a bitch even if she has a good reason. My husband was going to propose to me at the movie theater where I first told him I loved him but was so worried about drawing a crowd that he proposed at home instead
So what she said was "I don't love you!" To which he responds "But I'm rich and you aren't going to embarass me in front of all these people." Glad I can finally put all my anime skills to use
Congrats to the Lady for dogging a bullet. That proposal was 100% all him and clout and 0 about her. He reminds me of a stalker...corner the lady in public so she won't cause a scene out of embarrassment
Hell, I wish somebody would buy me a lamborghini. I would have thanked him. I hope he kept the car. He's a spoiled rich guy. I'm happy she dumped his ass, but his behavior after she ran away was horrifying. I still had to laugh though😂
The guy clearly has issues, the girl was smart in rejecting him, respect for that girl for being able to give up on such an expensive car for the sake of her safety and well-being
Strike one: doing the proposal in a public setting. Strike two: buying her an expensive, useless car she probably doesn't want. Strike three: acting like a three year old when she says no.
My fiancé proposed last October…where tf is my lambo?! Actually it was an amazing proposal, it was our 8th anniversary and he proposed at the Biltmore in Asheville which is basically a giant romantic house, gardens, and vineyards
This reminds me of another story similar to this one but the guy was a stalker, he bought her a car and proposed to her. The poor girl begged him to leave her alone during that.
This is just love bombing to the extreme. I would die inside if someone did all this for me regardless if I loved them or not. The amount of pressure to say yes is intoxicating, especially in public! I feel so bad for her (seems like 90 day fiance now that i think about it)
Speaking only for myself as a woman, there is no greater red flag indicating a person prone to manipulation and controlling tendencies than public proposals and promposals. Because most people see it as a grand romantic gesture, the recipient is now socially required to accept even if they don't want to. And if the recipient is honest, and rejects the proposal, not only are met with the immediate vitriol of the in person on-lookers, but all of social media tears them apart as well. There is no winning. You either relinquish your choice to societal pressures or you are punished for exercising your choice.
So basically he's saying "I got money, I will buy whatever you want, marry me" when she started crying. I'm not from China but I believe could be parent pressure him of faster getting married
