Those windows make all the difference. I love it. I love looking out the windows while I eat. Watching the trees and all the squirrels. I love it.
It's all so exciting! It was nerve wracking seeing the house cut like that but the windows look amazing! Now you can see the beautiful trees changing color and the room is so bright.
The windows make a world of difference to an already beautiful space. The fireplace will be the icing on the cake.

What a fabulous video!. You took us from a wonderful walk in the country side (I do love N New England) to your home via the library which I love....wish I had a library that looked like that. I too have remodeled an old home and yes, one wants to make it her own so it works. I don't believe there is the "perfect" home....there is always something to do to make it your own. And I love to decorate. Those 2 new windows are a fabulous addition. Even the outside wall looks better with the two new windows. I like the idea of the fireplace also. I took a walk this morning-my long drive is lined with the Red October maple trees and they are brilliant....and at 74F I had a hard time coming back inside to get some work done. What is the location of your store and are you online??? I so much enjoy your presentations. Many thanks.
So enjoyed this update. My initial thoughts were that I would not have given up wall space and put in those windows. Now that you have shown it, absolutely the right idea. So much light flowing in that room and I thought the outside of your house looked much better than the solid wall.

The windows look great...even without paint and trim. Brilliant idea asking them to use the existing windows until the new ones come in. It is going to be so beautiful when it is all done.

O my gosh-who cares if the windows are temporary. The light coming through is just beeeeutiful and that almost fireplace! You should be excited, you lucky girl! I'm excited and it's not my house. Glad all the bugs are getting worked out. And that stove-achh-what a piece of jewelry for that kitchen. I'm living your dream and am thrilled (no really) when I see you've posted. You are so amazing and gifted. I am sorry that you have health issues. My dad had mini strokes and they were frightening-maybe more for us because he didn't know who we were. But once they got the right meds he never had another. So girl, relax. No more stressing. Holidays are coming and that means lots of family, fun and COOKIES! OK, I'm excited again. Have a blessed day...oh but you already have.
The windows and fireplace are great calls. They not only add symmetry outside but inside as well. You can never have too much natural light, especially in winter!

What a great difference those windows make in this room. Much brighter.
In reference to "it is what it is"...I am working on that one too and I think of it in this way: When something is not to my liking, is a conflict, or stressor, I stop, breathe, and tell myself, "This, too, belongs." And I am noticing, with this new level of acceptance, I don't take it into my body. I feel much calmer. There is a sense of wholeness and ease that comes with accepting what 'is'. Also it helps to know that things always change.
Really love what you’re doing in your kitchen. The windows are a great addition to your room. Can’t wait to see a beautiful fire in your fireplace on a very cold winter day. How yummy!

Linda, of course your little shop is doing well because everything that you have there is so nice and the prices are good! 🥰We are also wanting to build a really nice barn, possibly a post and beam, but they are so costly and so that project is on hold for a while. I also love to have a project at all times in the house, so I know what you mean! Putting those new windows in was genius…more light in the room and a beautiful view! Oh we are keeping them for sure! We have newer, more energy efficient ones coming that look exactly like the temporary 9 over 6 windows.
Looking fantastic!!! It's going to be so warm and inviting. Not sure if this is in your plans but it looks like you might have room for 2 side mini closets/cabinets possibly to store glass and or entertaining pieces. Just a thought. Ugh contractors did some of the same crap costing us so much more money to fix.
Oh my goodness, how great the windows are. When you first talked about putting windows there, I just wasn’t sure but it just added so much light to the room and I’m sure the view is beautiful.
I can’t imagine doing all that you do, Linda, regarding house renovations. I get secondhand anxiety and exhaustion just watching. I’m living vicariously through you because I would go nuts having a mess for months on end. I’m sure in the end you’ll love it all.
My husband and I are moving to Maine in one year and we are having a home built. I’m the type who wants it all done right away because of what I said above. Home renovations stress me out so much.
