Hook doesent want to kill Peter Pan
He just want to chop of his hand and replace it with a frying pan
Underrated comment
Uhh
LMFAOOO YESSSS
Captain Hook did wanna kill Peter Pan don't even go there
yea like he doesnt want to kill him, just do that
Peter pan was a bully yet we all cheered for him when we were kids......
Yeah it's kind of weird, but he was a "pirate." Thanks for watching!
it all depends on how you tell the story
@@Underworlder5 Yeah for example in the Disney one you figure out Peter doesn't do anything wrong. And then in the second movie he was an even better character.
ya but peter never learned how to not be mean because he ran away from his parents to go to never-land ya know peter wanted to be a kid forever so he got his wish and went to never land and James hook will all ways be the bad guy unless he changes hi ways and is on peter pans side
True
Captain Hook is my favorite because he's so likeable despite him also being a major threat. Walt Disney himself saved Hook from being killed off at the end of the original film because he thought audiences would be too in love with him to be happy he dies at the end. That is something almost unheard of in a Disney film but once again Walt was right and so that really says something about the character Hook.
Disney had no problem with killing off characters to make the children orphans. Jesus Christ look at how Disney killed off Tarzan’s parents. We didn’t get the scene of it happening but the after math of the attack. Blood all over the floor, bloody paw prints, echoes of the attack, bullets along with the gun on the floor and I think the fathers dead body was still there. We couldn’t see the body but still. I remember watching it with my ex’s daughter and she just started crying. A few of the Princesses were left behind to their evil stepmothers who did nothing besides abuse them or try and kill them. Disney is dark.
Peter Pan is the villain.
Remember how Once Upon A Time switched things around by having Captain Hook as Anti-Hero/Villain who becomes a Hero and Peter Pan who is Pure Evil?
I'd like to see a Movie Adaptation of that. Perhaps something along the lines of Wendy, John and Michael go to Neverland with Peter Pan under false promises. Wendy comes to her senses and tries to escape but needs help from Hook?
peter is the bad guy in the original books and hook is the good guy who fights peter to save lost boys who has grown to old. (in the original peter pan is the only one who dont age, and he kills any lost boys who survive their "adventures" long enoth to grow up)
*+Theldras Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis* Hook was still never a good guy. He was an anti-hero.
*Sings Ruth B lost boy* WATCH THAT SONG PLEAS3
Theldras Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis not true . You learned that on Facebook . In the book pan is neither hero or villain . It's all a game to him and he gets what he wants . Same with hooks. They are different sides of the same coin
Matt Thornton yep has always been my favorite character in once upon a time
Just realized: Tinkerbell must be really old...
I'm not sure if fairies ever really age tho, but if they do, then yes you're right.
Carolina G. I'm not talking about aging. I'm talking about time. She probably lived a lot.
Beca A. M. Marques Yeah, I get what you're saying
Actually, the neverland faries don't get very old. By the end of the Book, when Peter comes back to Wendy, Tink is dead (and he forgot, she even existed).
fairies has no age cause they use magic dumbasses
I have always believed that Captain Hook was once a lost boy who had escaped Peter Pan when he (hook) came of age and grew up. I have always believed Pan was not a good guy but a villain himself. He would kill the lost boys before they grew up and Hook would try to recruit them to his crew before it was too late.
Then how come he never told the lost boys this? Simple, the lost boys would never believe Hook and Peter would always talk bad about Hook.
Peter is a perpetual child, he is prone to violence because he chopped a mans hand off and fed it to a crocodile. He wouldn't be above murder.
Jessica Ellis you have always? Im pretty sure you got that off the internet because there no way in hell that when you first watched the movie and probably a few times after, that you came up with that
YeahhBaby WhatsPoppin' yeah that's really an insult to all the characters. I'm not implying anything horrible to you I'm just saying that it does not fit the characters.
troll
That’s. Messed. Up.
I recall a fantasy story in Realms of Fantasy magazine where Hook (and his wife) were in the business of rescuing the 'lost girls' - young girls Pan flew to Neverland who went under the thumb of Wendy, and were forced to do cooking, cleaning, etc. while the boys had their adventures and tormented the girls.
It's because Peter Pan let Hook's brother die, it's as simple as that.
Erin Keough yes, oncer, yes!!! :D
Erin Keough omg yes
The Lillo is 25th
YESSSSSSS!
E. Keough Ya dreamshade Liam
all i ever wanted was disney making a movie on how peter pan found never land in the first place.. welp some dreams dont come true i guess
yentlcloud well the film pan a live action film on pan first going to neverland
Brad Treais And terribly bad
there is its called pan
I thought it was good.
SantiLokyyo are u srs omg plz go, i hate you as much as you hate pan
To be honest I like Captain Hook wayyyy more than Pan. He's one of my favorite villains, along with Ursula.
I like Mother Gothel best. Then Frollo.
Scar is amazing tho
Tbh I think Peter Pan is the villain. He's a fucking bitch! He cut of his hand and fed it to a crocodile. I love Mr.Smee 2!
Saliha Nuzhat I think so too. like in the original movie (I think) they don't even tell you why Pan cut off his hand. I'm not sure about that so don't take my word.. And oh Jixie dye, I hated frollo sooo much, out of all the villains he's my least favorite. I hated how he treated the poor hunchback x.x
Saliha Nuzhat watch once upon a time's version of it,hook is a good guy and Pan is the villain
I scroll down the comments to see a sea of Peter Pan nerds.
*I HAVE BEEN REUNITED*
It's so weird to watch pan being good when he's pure evil in once upon a time 😂
in chip and dale movie Peter's a villain that does a business of making crapy remake movies. because after the 1st movie he done they rejected him because he was getting older.
I am slightly disappointed in this video. It focuses solely on the Disney version of Hook, as opposed to the Literary or his depiction in other media. I find his similarity to Moby Dick's Captain Ahab fascinating.
Same. There are other origin stories like "Lost Boy" that are so much better.
"Discovering Disney's Captain Hook"
Hey here a thought We all know Captain Hook is a villain and we think at Peter Pan it's a good guy but he's actually A villain think about it he kid naps kid and takes them to never Never land and the repeatedly lets them get captured so he and play the Hero
Maybe hook and pan or in it together
Dog Cat OMGosh that hero part got me that sounds exactly what a little boy his age would do get glory in all. And the repeatedly getting caught. Congrats you have now inspired me for a new theory for my channel. And no I am not advertising it cuz it has no videos yet
the original version of peter pan is actualy even darker then that, in the original peter is the only one who dont age and he kills any lost boys who survive their "adventures" long enoth to grow up.
hook is actualy a former lost boy who fought peter and survived, later he fight peter to save lost boys who has grown to old, his entire crew is made up by grown up lost boys.
Technically, Wendy, John and Michael volunteered to go with so it's not kidnapping if you want to go with.
Theldras Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis That is only a theory though...
DAY-V Entertainment™ m
I love Captin Hook! :) I feel that people forget often how villainous he is because he gets over shadowed by other villans.
Briar Rose I know what you mean. Plus he shows he's fearful. I think he's a great villain. Thanks for watching!
No thank you! Maybe sometime you can add how he was in the Peter Pan book series. :)
He’s a cunning ruthless manipulative pirate who goes after children and tricks people like Wendy(in the book), Zarina, Tink, and Jane. He’s also a coward who hurts people weaker than him like Tiger Lily, the Lost Boys, Wendy and her brothers. It’s unknown why Pan cut Hook’s hand off but it’s likely Hook had bad intentions coming to Neverland since he was already a bad guy before he got his hand chopped off as we see in the Pirate Fairy.
Hook also kills his own men and treats Smee badly.
@@IsaacCarlsonseriously i understand no one wants to be eaten by a crocodile but the way hook simply refuses to be eaten by the tiktak crock is so amusing 😂
I always thought it was interesting that Tink had met Hook years before Peter and not through him. And also since Jake and the Nederland Pirates is a children's tv show, it never really gets too dark for the audience,(besides the fact that Hook had already lost his hand by this point, and the story of Peter cutting off and feeding Hooks hand to Ticktock Croc is actually pretty gruesome) his later action's in both "Peter Pan" and "Return to Nederland" only sell your statement even more, "by the time we see Hook in Peter Pan he is an aged and experienced pirate."
Shirley Arias. Well, there goes my theory. I believed Hook's mum was an abusive, overly strict MAN HATER! Like Ed Gein's mum to put it in a nutshell & you know what he became. Another thing is that Hook was JEALOUS of Peter because he (Hook) was NEVER allowed to behave like a normal boy when he was a kid while Peter was living it all up since the day he started living on Neverland.
Jake and the Neverland Pirates should be omitted from the Peter Pan series altogether and not part as cannon for the franchise. The Tinkerbell movies on the other hand deal with the franchise a lot better, and should be considered part of the lore. Also, you never touched basis on the Peter Pan musical plays, the Hook movie, or the actual novel. If you ever watched the musical play by Mary Martin, Wendy's father and Captain Hook are played by the same actor. This could be one of two reasons. One, they just couldn't budget for having an extra actor, or two; because Wendy's father is the personification of Captain Hook in the alternate universe of Neverland. Even in the Walt Disney's Peter Pan, Wendy's father and Captain Hook are voiced by the same actor. Coincidence? At the end of Peter Pan, Wendy's father looks up at the clouds in the night's sky that resemble the Jolly Rodger and says, "I remember that ship when I was a boy... A long time ago..." This could mean one of four things. One: Peter Pan took Wendy's father to Neverland the same way he did with Wendy, and went on adventures. Two: Wendy's father was a lost boy that grew up and became an adult, and went back to earth. Three: Wendy's father, like Hook, sailed on a ship that looks like the Jolly Rodger when he was a kid. Or four: Wendy's father is the personification of Captain Hook in the real world and has flashbacks of his alternate universe persona as Hook. Lots of different theories.
Tasukihori this is a underrated comment-
@@aq374 yes it is
I'm not saying your wrong for wanting Jake and the Neverland pirates not to be canon but I don't think it deserves to be cut from the Peter Pan franchise altogether (not just for the obvious reason that Peter is in it) I've been rewatching some of episodes and I think it's a lil better than some older fans of Peter gave it credit for (at least the later seasons where they stop talking to the audience and the stories become more grander) and if you look at peter's agelessness to be contributed due to the forever tree, it does make sense and I don't think there's anything in the movies that disproves it
I also think that "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" is not canon! and "fairies" is canon!
technically he didn't die after Jane as years later when peter pan leaves neverland and has grown up with his own wife and children, Hook once again tries to seek revenge and kidnaps his children trying to convert them to his side.
I agree that Hook was still alive, but that movies is not canon (I think).
Jonathan Sayah I believe it is but not 100%
Amuyashi De Casane Well I am not even sure it was a Disney movie. (or was it?)
”IMA CAHD-FISH!" 😂
This is so weird, confusing and incredible funny when you watched "Once Upon a Time" so often, that you forget how the Disney-Hook looks and acts like! :D
I am glad that J M Barrie portrayed Hook with dignity up until Hook's defeat, Hook says 'bad form' jeering to Peter after inviting him to kick instead of stab, hook then goes contented to the waiting crocodile ( who Barrie states 'stopped the ticking' to keep Hook's dignity by not knowing it's waiting below). Was happy after reading J M Barrie's original story.
I understand Disney's reasons for wanting to keep Hook alive as well though.
@@PattyKins764 I have read the book too and I liked it very much.A lot of theories and questions about the book can be easily answered if you have read the book.
@@Halfling4 I have read the book to. My reaction is whoever the hell said this was for kids, what is wrong with you😂. (No seriously though I kind of loved the fact that Peter was evil. Don't question it)
@@mysticwolfdog9553 I know! At times, it got kinda dark and I was wondering what was wrong with Peter Pan😂
My favorite Disney villain is Maleficent without a doubt, and Scar is a close second. Also for your next video or one in the future I'd love to see something about the not so well known Disney film The Black Cauldron.
knightlessmoon yesss that would be great to see a black cauldron origins or even a Disney dark age explanation
knightlessmoon, that's definitely something I'd like to see!!!
As for villains knightlessmoon, I have a lot of favorites, but my absolute favorite is the one I created... Darth Nemesis.
Maleficent is a really cool character. I'm going to be honest and reveal a dark truth about myself... I haven't seen The Black Cauldron or The Sword in the Stone or Robin Hood. I will look into it though! Thank you all for watching!
Wotso Videos
Yes watch all the Disney movies! The Black Cauldron has the creepiest villain and villain death in the history of their movies. He's called the Horned King. Won't say more then that though, you need to see it for yourself along with those other two ;)
This song floats through my head: I am a lost boy from never land usually hanging out with Peter Pan when we’re board we play in the woods!
The 2003 live action Peter Pan is probably one of my favourite versions of the film. (I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES XD)
Neko the Stray OMG SAME HERE 😍😍😍
SAMEEE
I think the Tinkerbell series is more cannon then that dumb Disney Jr.
Disney. Nick Jr. doesn't have the rights to Jake and the Neverland Pirates, but I can see why someone would think it's Nick Jr. with the art style.
Opss! I meant to say Disney Jr. But at the time writing this..I think brain farted! lol I forever mix words up in my head,
Since Disney/Nick both share the tern JR. in their own programing...it confuses me when am siting sources or something.
yeah

I'M A COD FISH!!!! 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
The original James Hook from the book/play Peter Pan written by James M. Barrie was actually supposed to resemble the writer himself and actually every other adult. Peter Pan is your inner child. The one you try to get rid of, but you never actually succeed in doing so (until the end of the play where peter dies and you're finally grown up). The cocodile who swallowed a clock is time. Everyone is haunted by time. For kids this play was just fun to watch, for the theater-loving adults it was a masterpiece. That's why it became so wildly popular.
I honestly loved this video, because it goes deeper into the Disney captain Hook we all know and love today.
Peter definitely did not die in the play.
Wait you forgot why he hates Peter and how he got the hook.
luchiagirl818 he got the hook because of the crocodile and he hates peter because it reminded him of his past when he got bullied
Ajudithh ooooh thank you
+Ajudith You always get what I'm trying to say! Thank you for helping me explain my ideas to others. Thank you for watching!
Wotso Videos No problem!
luchiagirl818 and the
hook was a lost boy who escaped peter pan and actually tries to recruite the lost boys and save them from being killed as they come of age... as they are no use to pan anymore.. Still adore the film though ✨
chmills isn't that the book? Cause Disney loves to change things that are really dark into things that aren't rated more than PG
chmills no it's the original story the Disney one is less dark
chmills you got that from the "childhood ruined" picture. Thats what it says
but the lost boys can't grow old in Neverland. The theory is false in my opinion
peter pan is under a contract with the fairies as long as he kills he can be a boy for as along as he wants and go on adventures all the other boys he convinces to join him grow old in the original book
i look forward to these videos everyday. it's so much fun hearing about the histories/Theories you come up with.
Saphira Banes I'm glad you look forward to them and appreciate the work I put into them. Thanks for watching!
Wotso Videos no problem! anytime. 😊
I still love it on Peter Pan about Capt Hook being afraid of the Tick-Tock croc. I mean that one always made me laugh.
Captain Hook is my favorite Disney villian because I like his design, he's very intelligent, and he's Funny and Scary at the same time.
Captain Hook is one of my favourite villains of all time. Disney or not, he has always had me interested in his character. I definitely loved Jason Isaac's version of Captain Hook a lot. Even Dustin Hoffman played an interesting take on the villain. I have always used to love pirates, which might give you the idea that I love Pirates of the Caribbean. The sense of adventure in the ocean, while taking on terrifying sea monsters, myths and legends, while just being free-spirited in doing what you love. I've always wanted to see Captain Hook and Jack Sparrow meet face-to-face. Even Blackbeard interests me. However, my favourite pirate character of all is Captain Hook. He has a great sense for fashion, and has a ruthless, yet gentleman personality. He is extremely cunning and manipulative. He is even a skilled swordsman. I didn't mind the Once Upon a Time version of Captain Hook, though I really just saw him as a bad boy excuse for fangirls more than anything else. Still, he had an intriguing backstory. He is also one of those few villains that work well for having a desire for revenge kind of motive. Like a character ruined his life, torments and humiliates him endlessly, which makes him so motivated to get revenge of the character. Also, Peter Pan DID technically cut off his hand. However, in the film, Mr Smee said that it was only a childish prank. Guess what? Hook actually seemed forgiving about that! The only reason he hates Peter Pan so much is because he fed his hand to the crocodile. Even Captain Hook admits that Peter Pan is not a boy, but a flying demon. I really love Captain Hook. He is cool!
No Peter Pan is not a demon, he is one of the good guys but also a pain in the neck.
Peter is soo petty making hook call himself a codfish 😂😂
As I'm playing Peter Pan in our school musical, I am searching RUclips to find out more about my character. This video has really helped me, thank you!
Hook is such an interesting, complex character. In all the versions of Peter Pan, i always enjoy seeing Hook.
I'm playing Captain Hook in my school play
You know why peter pan always flies?
Because he *NeverLands*😂
And to think, he had to watch "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" AND the Tinkerbell movies. He's more of a child than I am
It completely explains where he came from and why he became the way he is. An they are both canon to Peter Pan. Especially since Disney canon and make way more sense than Pan. An help compete the Peter Pan universe.
Rude.
why was he shown with a hook for a hand before he actually lost it?
Assassins used them as weapons so I am supposing that pirates used them too since they're almost alike...
To distinguish him for us I guess
In the fairy pirates he didn’t have it
Same reason his son Harry has one in Descendants 2: as a weapon.
Some of the best villains we know and love aren't always pure evil. Sometimes they're just broken from their past and end up misunderstood and only know wickedness. That's always been my head cannon for the villains that I feel deserve it, and I feel Captain Hook fits this well.
I just started watching your channel, and I love it!!!! You should do a series on Once Upon a Time
There is a play, Peter and the Starcatcher, which explains how Peter Pan came around and started his rivalry with hook back when he was called Black Stash. There are a few small issues with the story, mostly with the fairy dust being starstuff instead, but it still lines up with everything else. I’d recommend watching it!
One of my favorite Disney villains is Cruella De Vil. I mean, the song, the hair, her sheer instanity - its amazing. If you could do her, or perhaps other charachters from 101 Dalmatians, that'd be really cool.
I really want to do her. Don't worry! She's definitely coming soon. Thanks for watching!
Wotso Videos
My pleasure!
ugh, no
Jake and the Neverland pirates should not be included.
captain hook is Peter Pan's nemesis because he is the father figure/adult figure Peter fears. hooks character is purposely voiced by Wendy's father character. he represents time and the ending of childhood, the evils of growing up, being bitter, old, angry, etc. hook wants to kill Peter pan the representation of his forgotten self. it is actually a beautiful analogy and you messed it up
I do really enjoy your analysis. I wasn't trying to mess up this analogy because I hadn't thought about their relationship in that way before. Thanks for watching.
Wotso Videos guess I am a little fanatical about the book. I think the story is much deeper than even Disney allowed it to be especially new Disney. sorry, guess it is not really your fault that new Disney doesn't understand that Peter pan and captain hook are really two halves of the same allegorical figure.

I'm happy you enjoyed. Thanks for watching!
This explains so much super thx for the upload

Love Capt Hook and always interested to listen to the few versions of his life story. Just ordered a book 'Capt Hook- adventures of a notorious youth'
Written by J V Hart
Patricia Young is there a sequel to that book? I have read and own Adventures of a Notorious Youth.
hook: I'm a cod fish peter: louder hook: I'M A COD FISH
Ngl i laughed in that scene but i felt so bad for him 😭
Interesting theory and very clever how you meshed all of Disney's Hook content together.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
I mean, if someone cut off my hand and fed it to a crocodile I’d be pretty peeved off too.
my favorite Disney villian is Dr.Facilier and favorite movie is Alice in Wonderland
Very interesting video!! I always found Hook to be a interesting villain though and liked him more than Pan. While I think I like his portrayal more on Once Upon A Time, even the man who plays Hook on the show has mentioned he enjoyed his character from the original Disney cartoon
I'm glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching!
I love your videos and i've subscribed. Your videos have great research and organization. but i would also like to give some feedback. i think your narration needs to have a little more enthusiasm. There are lots of other you tubers that have narration that sounds much more monotone and flat, but yours doesn't compare. Just a little more oomph and your videos will be perfection!

My two favorite villians are Medusa (Geraldine Page) and Mr. Snoops (Joe Flynn) from the rescuers pt. 1 (Joe's last role he was also Dean Higgins on the Dexter Riley specials.)
Hook is my favorite Disney Villain, followed by McLeach from the Rescuers Down Under, Rourke from Atlantis the Lost empire, Scar from The Lion King, and Shere Kan from the Jungle Book. Might I suggest comparing traits of the villains and how they inspired each other.
P.S: I often refer to Hook as my one true Disney villain love.
Not gonna lie I LOOOOOOOOVE Captain Hook a lot. I like the idea that once upon a time gives were he’s a anti-hero but still has mischievous ways. He a good character and probably one of my favorites of all time. Make sure to have a magical day and give this a like if u like Captain Hook!
I have to say one of my favorite villains is Maleficent ^-^
Thank you for doing this video. This answered many questions I had about Captain Hook. My favorite Disney Villain is Captain Hook and my second is Yzma.
I'm glad you appreciated me making the video. Thanks for watching!
You're welcome!

King Ching Just got Bling just additional information
Ajudithh Could be the crocodile reincarnated
King Ching Just got Bling I don't know maybe definitely like the idea
King Ching Just got Bling oo or maybe they were friends and the octopus was trying to avenge his friends death 💀
If you've ever read Peter and The Starcatchers, you'll get a good idea. Though it is just a different interpretation, it's licenced by Disney and us a good read.
Captain Hook was originally called The Black Stache when he ravaged the ocean.
one thing is incomprehensible to me? in the first peter pan movie i counted the number of pirates and got up to 47 pirates but there were only 4 including Sme who rowed away from the ship? in film 2 there were more pirates and some of them were in the lifeboat together with Sme and Krok and where was the rest?
can you do a story over tinkerbells life
es da queen that would be pretty easy..they kind o have a movie franchise for her..
Erin Pamela 3 do fairy’s never die?
wow you learn something new every day
I'm happy you learned something! Thanks for watching!
Well THIS was a trip down memory lane as well as a roller coaster of emotions...
In the orginal book, the author points out that Hook's hatred comes from Peter Pan killing his mentor AND cutting off his hand. Also, Peter Pan orginally owned a sword taken from said mentor, and is an incredible swordsman, which is why my biggest pet peeve with the children's adpatation is that he only has a dagger. Peter is a very skilled at combat, but no one has really shown that
My favorite Disney villain is scar
You do Professor' Ratigan full story 💖❤️💖
This would be interesting.
I love the full stories :)
Thanks! I'm happy you enjoyed them. Thanks for watching!
where did he get sharky and bones from though pretty much all the background members of hooks crew from the first two films are missing except hook and smee themselves
Once I became an adult and watched movies involving Captain Hook, I started to relate to Hook. He's not actually evil, just misunderstood... and Peter is kind of a jerk.
Hook kills people who annoy him...
Dude he was straight up *bullied*
He’s my favourite villain ✨
That's how a lot of villains start out, unfortunately.
also look at the books Peter and the Starcatchers. It shows how much more ruthless as the black stache before he loses his hand to the crocodile and also covers that event
Great story on Hook. Wish you could have included the finale parts from the movie Hook, starring Robin Williams.
Still love it.
My favorite Disney villain is Peter Pan
Honestly, how can you not like Captain James Hook xD
I agree. I think he's so fun and entertaining! Thanks for watching!

BTW I hate Tinkerbell in the Peter Pan movie because of how mean and jealous she is.. hate me XDDD
Peter Pan's easily one of my top 3 favorite Disney movies! It's the first Disney film I saw and holds a special place in my heart. As for favorite Disney villain, it's a tie between Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty and Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog!
Captain Hook is my favorite villain, both by Disney (2nd favorite is Judge Claude Frollo) and by British Novel means (2nd favorite is Lord Voldemort). After all, Walt Disney wanted Hook alive because fans would get to like him afterwards.
favorite Disney villan is jafar
Poor captain hook😥
Oh no wonder he was so nasty. If only people shown him lot more love. And of Peter Pan was nicer to him he wouldn't be this way.
Lmao you had me at illegal pixie dust
i was thinking of simbad on the beggining before u showed jack tha sparrow lol
I LOVE PETER PAN 💖💗💕❤️❤️❤️❤️💚💚💚💚💚
sorry, as far as his history, your explanation isn't very good. even if it might be canon. you should read the book Capt. Hook. it's written by the screenplay writer of the movie Hook. it gives him a way better story and shows how brilliant of a villain he is. he has no mother and his father is a disgraced Duke or something. James there fore was raised to have good form and to be proper, but he's a devious little squirt with good swordsman skills. he's very intelligent and ahead of his time. he falls in love with a princess who he cannot have and dreams of a better place. a better world. so after commandeering a slave ship he sets out to find His Neverland to one day rule with his princess by his side. but I believe that when he finally finds His island Peter is there and ruins all his dreams. thus his hatred and his adventures with the Pan begin. in the end he failed and died alone never seeing his princess again. Captain James Hook is my favorite villain/ pirate because of how devious and clever he is. It bugs me when people see him as nothing more than a dumb greedy pirate with a grudge on a kid. but I love your videos. you do great stuff
Lari Fleming For this video I focused on Hook as a Disney villain. Thus the title Discovering Disney. I agree that there are some cool other interpretations of the character though. Thanks for watching!
Out of the movie series, I would have liked it if they made a part three. Not only for there to be an explanation of how Peter became Peter Pan,but to show Jane’s daughter “Margaret” and to show Hook and the Pirates be defeated (for good this time).
Wotso Videos, PLEASE make more Videos of Peter Pan! And my favorite (not only Disney villain, but favorite of ALL) is Captain Hook. When I grow a little older, I want to play the role as Hook (as a girl) and make a series of movies based on backstory, and all the way to where the Disney’s Peter Pan ends.
I'm a huge fan of peter pan, I've read the book.
His origin is actually his father sold him and his brother Liam into being slaves for Captain Silver until once the two grew up Liam made a deal with Hades allowing the two of them to join the Navy captaining the Jewel of the Realm at one point they were sent to Neverland in order to get a plant for healing for the King and his army but when they get there Peter Pan tells them it is a poison because Liam had so much faith in the King he uses the plant on himself poisoning him but Killian gives him water from Neverland healing him but right after they leave the water doesn't work and Liam dies they burry him at sea and Killian leads the crew on to become pirates renaming the ship the Jolly Roger he soon meets a woman named Milah the wife of Rumplestiltskin he tricks him into thinking Milah is dead while in reality he took her to join his crew as they were in love but once Rumplestilskin becomes the Dark One and tries to get a magic bean from William Smee and Smee is captured by Killian and Milah Rumple kills Milah and cuts off Killians hand to get the bean from him but it is the wrong hand so Killian buries Milah at sea has Smee join his crew and goes to Neverland to stay young while he plans his revenge against Rumplestiltskin now taking the nickname Captain Hook
Xpler779 Once upon a time comes up with some good back stories.
Xpler779 um no thats only from the show
XplertheUnusual in my opinion once upon a time made a way better story.
XplertheUnusual and don't forget that later he met emma the daughter of snow white and Prince charming and they were kind of enemies at first but later he started to develop feeling for her, at first she wasn't interested in him but later she had feeling for him too, they became a couple he died a couple of times and came back to life each time oh and also he and emma became the dark ones and then they become normal pepole and in the end they got married and now she is pregnant.
You forgot to take information from Once Upon A Time, I've watched a lot of it, and it gives some good information about who Hook was before he went to Neverland
Isaac, I think it's time you sat down and had a Once Upon A Time marathon... saying we enjoy Captain Hook after watching OUAT would be an understatement.
I like the version in once upon a time where Peter pan is the real villain and hook tried to stop pan from taking children from other worlds because pan is a selfish emortal who takes children becuase many years ago pan was told that in order to live he had to take the Heart of the truest believer in which it shows that all magic comes with a price
And also Hook and Pan were friends before Pan fed his hand to the croc...
+Robyn McLean Not in Once. Peter Pan is indirectly responsible for Hook's brother's death. He told Hook what would cure the guy but didn't bother to mention that it would only work if he remained on the island - something which I can't imagine endeared the pirate to the demon who looked like a boy in the slightest. He's also a brutal and manipulative sociopath who abducts young boys, often against their will, so that he can find the one boy whose death would ensure that Pan will live forever. He's a murderer and a trickster who is so evil that he makes the morally questionable pirate captain, who killed his own father in cold blood and nearly sentenced an innocent man to death just to get his ship back, look like a saint in comparison. And in Once Upon a Time, Hook losing his hand had very little to do with Pan. It was Pan's son, Rumpelstiltkin, who took it, in retaliation for Hook running off with his wife and leaving his son motherless.
Great theory. I absolutely love it, but how is it supposed to fit in to "Once Upon A Time?"
once upon a time doesn't follow all the rules of canon. it's basically all fanon, because the plot is a) mainly centred around the original characters and b) diverging from canon when dealing with preexisting characters
Anna Keller
I don't quite understand what you mean.
When I started to watch the show, I got irritated because it didn't follow a lot of the original telling of these character's story, I'll tell you what my friend told me, when you watch the show, put aside what you remember and realize they are telling their story. Although there are a few elements (if you watch at the beginning especially, Hook uses "good form" a lot, something in the original telling of Hook he's obsessed with) and instead of it being a literally crocodile that takes his hand, it's a "crocodile" in the form of Rumple. I find Hook's story in Once more interesting because he has changed a lot over the last few seasons.

I know. He literally goes from villain, to anti-hero, to hero. Plus also, after he died, Zeus sends him back to earth as a living person to be with Emma. And besides, the actor who played him wasn't, and still isn't done with being in the show yet.
It's just a theory that he was possible bullied frequently as a child and didn't have friends and that even his parents were not nice to him. and that he might be nicer if frequent bullying is in fact what made him cold that if the bullying hadn't happened he'd be a nice guy.
What about the movie Pan that shows a backstory to Pan and Hook? They were originally friends in that. I don't know if this video was made before that movie.
The Pirate Fairy takes 20 years before Peter Pan, wow! I am did not know that and I am glad I heard it. I am currently writing a prequel to Disney's Peter Pan and this info helps. Unless I read wrong, the the Great Fairy Rescue supposed place takes in 1900 and I read somewhere that the Peter Pan takes place in 1904, giving (I think) a possible four year gap between when Peter may have come Neverland.
