Sugar is not an enemy, it's the fact that sugary food is often nutritient-defficient (for example donuts? No fiber, no vitamins; just carbs and simple sugars) which people overeat instead of nutritient-dense foods.. But if you want your acai bowl with honey, maple syrup,... There's nothing wrong with it, you're still getting all the nutrients the fruits and nuts have
i would agree with you but she specifically mentioned blood sugar spikes which makes me think this was catered towards people who can’t have a large amount of sugar for medical/health reasons
I am tired of people saying that sugar is not the enemy when it's easy to overeat. we need to stop thinking of these foods as ate friends when they only cause more health problems. Sugar is highly addictive even when you balance it out with protein, carbs, and healthy fat it still makes you hungry when you stomach is empty

3 things 1. You recommend Shakeology in your comment about the ingredients. Shakeology is an MLM... I don't need to add more. 2. Saying something like "x fruit has more sugar than x dessert" misses so much nuance about nutrition. Getting an açaí bowl even with the sugar based on all the research we have is far, far nutritionally superior to donuts. Donuts are an ultra processed food (which these foods have been linked to cancer, diabetes, heart disease and so much more), that sugar in those donuts has no fiber unlike the açaí bowl to slow down it's digestion limiting the blood sugar spike, I could go on. 3. Sugar free sweeteners like stevia have been having more and more studies being performed on their safety because there are so many studies suggesting links to cancer. This does not suggest that adding more stevia is a good idea. (THIS IS NOT TO FEAR MONGER. We do NOT have conclusive evidence sugar sweeteners are dangerous. But actively recommending adding it to your food at home while vilifying natural sugar is just not right...)
Guys I make acia bowls all the time and the best way to make it is to get a acia packet like the one in the video blend it along with frozen strawberries blueberries mango and half a banana with some coconut milk and put some toppings like granola banana strawberries condensed milk it’s super good
Your version of an acia bowl is not healthy especially with too much fruit, sugar added granola and sugar added condensed milk. Too much sugar for anyone to start their day off and no protein. You need protein in the morning along with fiber and healthy fat.
@@brittanydaniels1102 well I don’t eat it in the morning and the granola and condensed milk is optional also there is no processed sugar just from the fruit and I can tell you this is way healthier from other sweets and not everything has to be healthy
@@brittanydaniels1102you don’t know how big the bowl is, if it’s a small bowl diversity in fruit is better than just one because you’re getting more nutrients.

Did you know little children climb to the top of the very tall tree because they are light and adults are to big to climb the tall treen. thats how you get acai is from sweet little ones climbing up a tall tree
Some of this women’s posts are honestly scary. I’ve seen so many posts where she creates food as the enemy I get not trying to eat a lot of sugar or processed carbs but having them once in awhile is ok.
Agreed. And as a diabetic educator I’m getting so f*ing tired of seeing content creators demonizing “blood sugar spikes”. Blood sugar spikes are completely NORMAL and HEALTHY. As long as your blood sugar isn’t spiking to 250 you’re fine. Thats why you’re checked for type 2 diabetes prior to eating and two hours after you eat. So that your body has time to regulate itself. Also lets not forget type 1 diabetes which causes horrible hyperglycemia even while fasting. It breaks my heart because type 1’s are usually diagnosed in childhood. Have to listen to everyone tell them what they should and shouldn’t eat and now get to constantly hear how blood sugar spikes are terrible. Type 1’s are 5 times as likely to develop an eating disorder 😢
@@melanie7068 that’s so sad. I had a family member who was pre diabetic and watching them have to prick themselves and constantly worry about there sugars killed me they couldn’t enjoy meal time.
Why do I even have to comment this on a diettians video? The sugar in donuts is very calorie dense with loads of other things, but the sugar in fruit is not. I always have loads of fruit with my acai bowl and just with breakfast in general. Also, you're literally showing off an MLM that are unethical and exploit people for money.
I appreciate your all foods fit approach, and I know it’s never your intention to fear monger, but I think your language is sometimes a little too close to the kind of language that is often used to fear monger, especially around sugar. I sometimes worry people will get the wrong idea from your content
Ok. Question from the peanut calorie 😂I meant gallery but spelled calorie. It's funny. Leaving it. So does calorie count matter as much as nutrition? I've cut almost all sugar and have implemented so much of your tipes... but i still struggle meeting my protein goal and I'm consistently 30-150 calories over.
Ok obviously im not the channel owner but i wanna call dibs on this question before someone rly opinionated does bc for some reason, this topic gets people acting like toddlers. It depends on ur goals. If youve struggled with an ed before, i highly recommend u dont bc a healthy relationship with food should be ur priority. If u feel like u can calorie count without that being a problem and u wanna manage ur weight, then yeah, its probably the best method to do that, but 150 cals over will not make u gain if thats what ur worried about. It typically takes like 500 calories over or under maintenance over an extended period of time to lose or gain weight. And finally, if ur goal is just overall health and u dont rly care about weight management and u havent struggled with an ed before than it, then it doesnt rly matter (low-calorie does not equal healthy) 💜 Edit: oh also, if u do count make sure to look up ur maintenance on a calories calculator. Dont just assume its 1200 bc thats what some halfway-to-the-grave ig model was doing

Are those DRIED chia seeds?! Never eat those without first hydrating them because they absorb so much water and expand during the process!
