    You can use a cement slurry to prime the back of porcelain tiles or a sbr coat, both give excellent adhesion.

    Agree with you always have to use primer on a porcelain tile but I never buy it, sbr and cement for me, also I use a mix of sharp sand and building sand 70/30 for bedding as sharp sand for strength and building sand to help make mix pliable and to create more suction but liking your work tidy bricks. 👍

    We always prime our porcelain too, such a stronger bond, what are your thoughts on priming sandstone? i personally don't, as to me sandstone is porous and we use sbr in our priming what is a waterproofer and could blow the slabs when theres a frost. but have seen a few landscapers do it.

    Hi there tidy bricks. Great video. Alot of people ask me why i prime each individual flag. Now i can show them this video. Thanks. Also never had a come back using this method. When not using the primer had a couple of rockers to re do. Also i make my own primer which consists of sbr bond and neat cement and a coulpe of hand fulls of grit sand stirred up. Is that basically the Marshalls primer. Thanks pal

    Hi mate. Excellent videos. Quick question mate. Is Porcelain ok to be laid on an MOT Type 1. There are mixed reviews, lots are saying lay on a concrete base. Could I lay a lean mix concrete over MOT Type 1 to a depth of 20mm just to get the best of both worlds or would this be pointless?

    • @tidybrickslandscaping
      @tidybrickslandscaping  4 года назад +4

      Hi SW laying porcelain on type1 mot is the preferred way over here in the UK so ignore probably Americans saying lay on concrete but you could if you wanted but type1 is fine
      Bed depth is between 30/40mm normal mix not lean. I prefer a semi dry mix myself

    Myself and father in law will be installing porcelain tiles out the back garden this weekend. We have Evo Fix SBR waterproof bonding admixture, my question.... Does this need to be mixed with cement or can it be applied to the tile straight from the bottle? Your feedback would be appreciated. 😀
