*Some History*
This tiny little village has been famous for Caligula's ceremonial ships recovered on the bottom of its lake, for the majestic Diana Temple found nearby (one of the most sacred temple in roman antiquity) and for being the inspiration for James Frazer's "The Golden Brough",as being a favourite town of George Byron during his Grand Tour of Italy.

Simply a hidden gem my spiritual home, the scenery always takes my breath away the strawberry tarts and ginseng coffee are simply divine enjoyed overlooking the lake

Does anybody know a store in Nemi that sells souvenirs and had a grotto with statues and a sign at the end that says Te amo? Please let me know
Hi Claudia, I remember this shop, it's at the end of Nemi, before the arch and towards the panorama on the lake. There's always a middle aged man there, the owner. He someones plays the guitar outside

Good question Sharon ))) we do have them, we have several in forests around and in private plantations down the lake )
Saw it on Wikipedia. Also saw the small population. By the way, those were mailboxes in Sapino. Here I saw mail sticking out of some.
Yup, Nemi Is very tiny but very cosy at the same time. Quite touristic too!
