This guy is like Anthony Fantano. If he gives an album anything below half, I know I'm gonna love it.
“I didn’t like their most acclaimed work so I also don’t like them trying to recapture their most acclaimed work.” Is certainly a take.
We can all be hyped for the new Shadows Fall album coming this year though
Yes we can! That should, and hopefully will, be very cool.
@ I did thing the new album was fine though but true in the realm of all those metalcore bands you mentioned yeah those are better hell even AILD is better lol
@@themetalmeltdownofficialI want a review of the new shrieking demons album the new jinjer album and the new 16 album
@@themetalmeltdownofficial on a side note, are you going to review Dream Theater' s latest sleeping pill fittingly called "Parasomnia" 😅 ?

Antifragile. An album from a Metalcore band that doesn't sound like every other Metalcore band pretending to be Bad Omens. 10/10
Yall are wild in here. All are entitled to your opinions.. but this album absolutely slaps. Some songs are a bit off. But even the songs that are soft do have some really nice instrumentals and I can appreciate that. If you like death metal then they probably aren’t your taste cause they were never that. They’re a metalcore band. Which in my opinion is better cause the vocal ranges you have to hit are at both ends of the spectrum and Phil does that perfectly. Guess I’ll have to street to disagree with 90% of yall on this channel.
All That Remains is to me an above average metalcore band.
This is honestly my favorite album of the year so far. I can understand why people don’t love it. No Tomorrow is a corn fest for sure. But it just hits for me perfectly.
More power to ya bud
@@themetalmeltdownofficialthank ya lol. Full agreement on the concerning political aspects though. I wasn’t aware he was all that close with Timcast. I thought it was just something like when Eminem did a song with Tom McDonald in that he was just paid to work with him once. That’s a shame.
@@alexkennedy6618 WAIT... EMINEM AND TOM MACDONALD??? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?? 💀
@@themetalmeltdownofficial yeah Eminem produced a song for him called “Dear Slim”
@@alexkennedy6618 god thats so fucking cringe... cant wait to check it out lmao
As soon as i saw the thumbnail, I thought to myself, 'yup, time for another drinking game...'
So far, nahh not really. But we'll see.
5:48 woah thats an oxymoron and a half
I did like this new All That Remains album. ATR is one of the gateway bands into metal back in 2010 alongside Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Lamb of God and a few others. The Fall of Ideals and This Darkened Heart still hold up two decades later, I’m going to have to disagree there. Once 2012 hit, they went the FFDP route and made some of the most generic and cringe worthy butt rock. I thought Victim of the New Disease was a step in the right direction but this new album is I think their best since Overcome. Jason Richardson who played on the best Born of Osiris album definitely injected new life into this album. I can separate art from the artist here, people praise black metal bands who have worse beliefs and have done worse things.
Pretty sure the new Dream Theater Album gonna have a drinking game!
You give blumpkiins at truck stops
I appreciate that you've provided your honest opinion for Antifragile because I typically don't enjoy when a RUclips channel reviews a popular release i.e. 72 Seasons LOL. I'll be honest, I've only really tolerated the song This Darkened Heart. It randomly pops into my head from time to time and takes me back to the early 200s, watching Much Loud (in Canada, Much Music's answer to Headbangers Ball). Having to review All That Remains is a harsh punishment. Make sure you listen to something you truly enjoy. Curious, did you have a chance to check out Unreal Overflows?
I have not lmao, partially because I forgot. Thats on me. The reminder is appreciated, cheers bud.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial It's all good. Falling asleep to All That Remains can make a man forget a lot of things LOL. Here's one of the singles, and probably my favouite song from the UO album:
ruclips.net/video/c4FCqFWiuKc/видео.html
all that remains making a boring album??? im shocked. absolutely shocked
I had absolutely no idea of any of the band's political affiliations when I listened to the album yesterday. I thought it was fine, but it didn't grab me as exceptional. I don't think I'll return to it, knowing what I know now.
Can’t say I’m surprised surprised that someone with a MLP profile pic and their pronouns listed would avoid any form of art from someone who has conservative leaning values. So tolerant and understanding of you. Great job exposing yourself as a leftist whack job! 🤡
Ironically, they actually made probably the best song in their whole discography on this album: Cut Their Tongues Out
I tried to listen to all that remains when I was a teen and I thought these guys were we have at killswitch engage at home and I can't wait for the drinking game lol also i can't wait for the new album from killswitch engage
Doing the 'Reviewing EVERY Killswitch Engage Album!' video kinda made me realize just how good and important they are, they stomp All That Remains.
Also I'm not sure I see a fanboy drinking game but I love that some of y'all are already pumped for one lmao
Nothing to do with all that remain,s but I just finished your killswitch engage video and had to go listen to In Due Time, friggin love that track.
I love this album but yeah kerosine i never would have put those together
Been a fan since the Fall of Ideals, seen them live many times. The last couple of albums were a bit disappointing but I’ve heard worse music. I understand your opinions, I still like them. Waiting for the new album I always have an open mind to new music.
Why separate the art from the artist though? Does anyone have a convincing argument other than they feel that holding artists accountable is 'left wing' and they are not? Or that they selfishly just want to like something and that's more important than damage done to real people in often violent and sexual ways? All this 'you can't criticise people that make things I enjoy' bull shit is soooooo tired at this point. Not actually looking for a back and forth here, and I won't be responding to replies. Feel free to waist your time though.
Despite its cringe title, I actually really love the new album. I separate the art from the artist with ATR (and more particularly Phil Labonte) nowadays, because I have had too many great memories with their music as a teenager back in the day to even begin to *consider* stopping listening to them.
As a side note: it’s annoying and exhausting that discourse around musicians in general has reached a certain point that I have to say that to almost anybody online that I talk to about the album so far; I really wish I didn’t have to say that, tbh. It’s almost like every third band nowadays, you have to say something like “I love the music, BUT*”. You know what I mean.
U should've tried the Kamala tongue twister at the end of an Angry Fanboy Drinking Game...
Brb, writing this down
I didn't even know about all of Philip's activities until I watched this video, that's entirely because I just don't care about this band, love Jason Richardson though the guy's a beast.
All that Remains was Five Finger Death Punch before Five Finger Death Punch. Not many remembers when Phil Labonte was the vocalist in Shadows Fall in which Shadows Fall became a much better band when they gave Labonte the boot
This is the most 2.5 album that I have heard in a long time. Closing January so mid.
Conservatives can make good art just like liberals can make bad art. Good example is in terms of music is early Hank Jr for good conservative art and the last ministry album for bad liberal art.
Anyways. If you’re conservative and want to get your point across, don’t make it like ATR. Seriously, y’all deserve better than “haha libs suck” every other song
To be fair, ATR don't really write songs like that. But other than that, agree with everything you say.
2/5 this one is boring
Get ready for the drinking game that this video might spawn Lmao. On a serious note though, I love the albums Fall of Ideals and Overcome. But I do understand someone not liking them, and I agree the vocalist is a terrible human being outside of music.
It is definitely an album
You should have reviewed the Pentagram album. I can see this turning into a very messy but entertaining drinking game 🍺👍🤘🏿
No drinking game. Besides, the Pentagram album was supremely boring (and I'd rather not give Bobby Liebling a platform)
I was happy with the album. Nothing crazy, but just decent enough. I’ve had a few huge disappointments over the last few years so I’m good with just being content.
So given the information that Phil Labonte is working with Tim Pool, I think it’s only fair that we try to get Bryan Garris or Craig Reynolds on Hasan Piker’s stream.
Haven't even heard it and this seems to be exactly what I was expecting. Man Jason Richardson has this weird curse of being in bands that he is WAY too good for (Born of Osiris, Chelsea Grin, Falling In Reverse now this) I'm sure all of his parts sounded amazing and the only parts worth listening to but man Phil Labonte hasn't been good since the fall of ideals and his general vibe makes it damn near impossible for me to validate anything past that album because all of it is just so over produced and desperate for radio attention. Frankly I'm kind of amazed they haven't collaborated with Ronnie ratfuck yet
This band’s name suits them perfectly- it’s synonymous with “leftovers.”
I saw All That Remains opening for The Haunted back in 2009. They put on a good enough live performance that I checked out a couple of their albums afterwards, but they seemed a bit 'meh' and didn't stick with me. Anyway, Tim Pool is an actual, genuine idiot. Just saying.
I was actually digging this when I first listened to it. Guitar work is clean, rhythm section sounds good.
Then Phil sings, and good Lawd, he sounds like he ate a pack of razors when he screams, and he sounds like an autotune robot when he does cleans. Yikes.
In this case, separating the art from the artist is like separating two heaping piles of garbage
uhhh... aren't you the one who did a video on AxCx (2)
@@joshwest53051. What does that have to do with anything? Pretty sure I made the exact point in that video that I made with this comment.
2. I’ve seen your account before. It’s very clear you dislike me. That’s fine and all, but honestly, continuing to reply to my comments for the sole purpose of starting shit is simply pathetic on your part. Feel free to keep doing it though, whatever makes your cock feel bigger.
@@joshwest5305it's only when artists have right wing opinions that they're garbage. When someone's an actual garbage person like Seth Putnam, then it's ok
@ uhhhh you do know that Seth Putnam was right wing ? Lmao
@@joshwest5305 I've never heard that and I can't find any information about Seth's politics at all. Irregardless, thats not why he's controversial, so even if he was right wing, it still lends to my point
Ah yes now I remember your channel minutes after listening.....anyway 💀
The vocalist is the ONLY bad part about the album lmfao
I thought it was an okay album for me 2.5/5
Can you ever do a video where you’re not spreading political nonsense? Why people sub to you is beyond me.
I've made PLENTY of videos that aren't political bud. And frankly if you're annoyed with me talking about Phil Labonte and Tim Pool and real things they've said and done, that says far more about you than it does about me.
@@themetalmeltdownofficialWhat “real things” has Phil said and done? I know he’s a bit more right leaning, but is that all? I guess it would be enough huh... 😂
This new All That Remains album...
IS NOT GOOD! *[explosion]*
It's toilet water in musical form.
I really do have a bias for those couple of albums, some of my favorite metalcore albums, I always loved the guitar work with this band. Phil’s vocals I liked during that early 2000s era. But then they decided to throw that all away to become a fuckin diet FFDP Military buttrock fake tough guy cringe band. The last album was “better” but ya know its not hard for bland and boring meat and potatoes to be better than rotten meat and moldy potatoes. The bar is low for me with this band. I expect this to be fiiiiiiiine
I prefer Beyond The Within's last album: "As She Lays Sleeping".
FANTASTIC ALBUM!
Check out the song "Parkway Burns The Horizon"
YOU. GONNA. LOOOOOVE IT!
Parkway Drive* and yeah, that album is great although I imagine it's not really Metal Meltdowns cup of tea
Listened to the album earlier today, and I personally enjoyed it. However, I don't regularly listen to All That Remains, partly because of the drop after the first 4 albums but also because I don't trust Phil and I probably won't like his views (I haven't looked into his politics much, but before this video I knew he was right-wing and tweeted, after the first assassination attempt on Trump, "get this man in and destroy the left". After I saw he said that... yeah. I listened to other metalcore bands anyway, but I definitely don't want to listen to ATR that much anymore)
The Fall Of Ideals was so HUUUUUGE for me and I still even really enjoy Overcome, but this bands fall off was something special. Appreciate that Jason Richardson was able to breathe quite a bit of life into this album, even if I cant stand Phil as a human being. Not bad at all, I expected to fucking hate this.
same lmao, especially from some of the singles. Here's hoping Jason continues to flex his muscles with these guys for a bit more, maybe he can convince 'em to try something new.
@themetalmeltdownofficial Divine was great, rest were pretty ass. I was ready to write it off, lol.
From interviews it was said that Jason came into the band as an OG fan and wanted to write a typical ATR album. Now with that out of his system I imagine there might be a chance that the next one might be more interesting.
I felt the production on this album to be a little boring tbh, its done well but its missing something. Not really striking me in any way
I never got into the band. Respect to them being OGs and inspiring a whole number of bands I do love.
But when it comes to the band itself. I cant separate the art from the artist. And yeah, fine. Its cool if Phil has opinions I fully disagree with. If someone likes him, awesome. You do you. I just won't be listening to it.
The only two albums that I can Iisten to by them are Fall of Ideals and This Darkened Heart.
Military butt rock 😅😅😅😅
That made me laugh.
Just finished the record and… I don’t know why I keep giving them a shot.
I'm pretty much done with 'em. Unless they make some big changes to how they write their songs and present themselves I can't imagine I'll be tuning in again.
@@themetalmeltdownofficialIf they went left wing you’d be giving them a chance, commie! 🤡
Yeah nothing says 'commie' quite like... not liking All That Remains lmao, goofy ass
@themetalmeltdownofficial You like to bitch, don't you?
@@Derek-gj8wzProjection
Mid AF album with excellent guitar and drum work. Just makes me want to listen to The Fall of Ideals😅
I felt that. I just bored thru the whole album. Im not sure, it's the composer fault i guess...
Great album
I feel like all bands have to do to impressive this goober is say " left wing stuff good and conservatives evil" and he'll treat them like they're the second coming of christ.
Not the case. This "goober" has criticized bands such as Ministry and Otep for writing bad music even if it had left wing messaging. He's given positive reviews to bands such Megadeth and Slayer (containing band members that are notably conservative) for writing good music. Don't believe me? Watch his discography reviews of Ministry, Megadeth, Slayer and his most recent album review on Otep.
While political bias certainly can play a role in his analysis of lyrical messaging, I see more of the focus of his reviews being on the music itself beit the songwriting, production, guitar riffs, etc.
I got the Twitter libs real mad when I talked shit about Otep and Ministry too lmao
@@matthewroberts3125 well he's a goober , the intro alone is just goober energy.
enjoying legacy bands like Slayer and Megadeth isn't proving much that he's open to conservative performed bands nor is using later era Ministry and Otep which is universally disliked as proof he's open to criticism towards left wing bands. saying he's reviewing music isn't convincing either when half this video was him talking about the conservative biases he clearly has issues with , showcasing that politics out weigh music to a large degree . Nothing wrong with that as politic are important regardless of bias but trying to persuade he's open to both evenly on the musically side of things isn't working here.
@ Congrats youre bragging what Steven Crowder and Ben Shapiro do . Just an edgy leftist mindset with surface level wannabe activist crap.
'waaah he's a leftist waaah' go outside bud lmao
That album title-Anti fragile is terrible. This Sunday my thoughts on a new is it that bad?
Well anti-fragile is a term because use to describe being emotionally stable so…
Kerosene is the best song on the album imo.
Sassy lil Sissy is reviewing emo metal now, what a good lil Twinkletoes
Ohh nooo Tim Pool 😱😱
Other than potential taking money from Russians and having some shxt takes, there's nothing wrong with Tim Pool. He's a champion for liberty and free speech with one of the biggest platforms out there.
Phil is one of the only musicians that has cohesive well thought out worldviews and not just vague emotional platitudes to describe complex things they obviously don't understand.
That being said ATR is kinda lame. Don't disagree there
@@bobbybobbinson69
>taking money from Russians
>champion for liberty
🤨🤔
@themetalmeltdownofficial yes, one can in fact champion liberty in America while taking money from Russia. Tim Pool has had the same opinions throughout his whole career a decade before the Russian money, which occurred in 2023
Yeah bro nothing says 'champion of liberty' quite like being paid by Vladamir Putin and his government to spread misinformation and propaganda. Totally.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial
I'm not saying it's good that he did, but your dichotomy of "taking money from Russia means you're not pro liberty" is false. Especially when your opinions don't change when Russian money comes. He has been entirely independent up until 2023. And now the Russian organization is disbanded, so he's not taking their money anymore, and only took Russian money for under a year. A small fraction of his career
@@themetalmeltdownofficial nothing to say now huh
I actually do agree with a lot of Phil's politics. That said, I never liked his band. Gave this a quick listen, and regretfully, this album didn't change my opinion of this band at all. Still think they kind of suck.
I love that thanks to AI now we are able to call metal albums slop, they’re generic
After 2 listens yesterday on the album, the result at least for me, is just a lame album, yet another one....
It surprised me but mostly because they have sucked for years
I've been looking forward to this since I became aware of Jason Richardson's other work. I'm not much of a metalcore fan. I'm a Libertarian like Phil, but I'm glad that this isn't a political album.
I like this a little more than uncle Melty because I don't hold the butt rock elements against these guys. Jason's guitar work certainly elevates the music, but I probably shouldn't have hoped that they would become prog metal.
Basically when this stuff comes on Octane, I'll turn it up rather than switch to Liquid Metal.
Every all thay remains album: 😴😴😴😴
