Let me tell you!!! I have been reading and reading and could not understand a single thing about systems theory. I mean like honestly why did anyone create this!
This was incredible! So clear and concise, no jargon and very informative. If all of my lecturers were this good at teaching I wouldn't need to come to RUclips for help! Thank you for this video!!!!
I read for hours on the systems approach in order to equip myself enough to complete an assignment, but have learned more in the ten minutes spent watching this video. THANK YOU!!!!!! Please do not stop. I will keep on coming back for more insight for as long as I study Communications.
I have been reading about this in articles, and my text book and it was like reading chinese and I don't read chinese. Thank you, thank you , and thank you for this simplified explanation. I literally cannot thank you enough.
Your channel is perfect for the business students and humans who willing to learn management knowledge and theories. We watch you continue teacher. The content is very good quality 👍 Greetings from Turkey 🇹🇷
I greatly appreciate this video you made. The texts I was given to learn about systems theory were beyond confusing. This was so much more clear in comparison. Thank you!
Your channel is just brilliant and most underrated 😔 . I have been it's part for about 1 year almost and it seems like watching all my doubts getting cleared here. Thanks buddy for helping
I’ve been watching this channel along with my scheduled reading in Comm 471 Org Comm class. This video enhanced my level of comprehension of the material.
Thank you for the informative video. I'm taking a Management course remotely and just had to read through several presentations which try-and fail-to explain the notions clearly. Your video has helped me to gain a lolid degree of comprehension in the items described.
I have a test in like 2 hours and i have not studied anything, i am doing a fast forward crash course from your videos thank you thank you for making these
I WISH!! I came to this video 2.5 hours ago, I read a looooooooooooong piece and was literally having heart palpitations, thinking I am dumb because Charles Perrow was making no sense to me.. T H A N K Y O U for this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing stuff! Coming from very independent perspectives, it would appear that as I attempted to unify classical mechanics and quantum mechanics, cognizant that Prof. Einstein had a problem appreciating quantum theory; believing that it was incomplete and had variables missing,it appears as I unmasked reality in the universe, I crafted a model in perfect harmony with the systems theory. By taking matter and radiation as inputs and immobile and mobile non-matter as outputs with the processes being interactions of inputs or outputs under a process in equilibrium, I have correctly account for Einstein's concerns about the incompleteness of the quantum theory. Thus, I could consider my new matter/non-matter equation published in october 2022 in the international IRJIRET journal as a true summary of the reality of how the universe ticks because my new equation is: 1) caters for both aspects of entanglement i.e it gives the immobile and mobile moeties that are on entanglement. and not just capturing electrons (mobiles) and leaving out the nucleus (immobile a) from which the electrons separate to become entangled with the same. This provides additional info Einstein and his EPR team considered lacking, yet Nobel Prize 2022 appears to have glossed over this concern. 2) Independently developed, my new equation that unifies classical and quantum mechanics and motivated by chemistry is electrifyingly similar with another version by Fotini Markopoulpu from a physics perspective, alluding at a consistency of thought across geographical regions and scientific disciplines. 3) My equation also has equally electrifying parallels with that providing for the cosmological constant. Overall, this developments merit constitution of a broad based panel of scientific experts to interrogate this scientific development with a view to making relevant and timely pronouncements, accordingly that may be needed to bring harmony and unanimity on matters that have bothered science for close to a Century now. 3,
I love your videos, the relationships are very well explained. may I ask you to do a video on network-based theory or the process theory of organizations? furthermore, I am very interested in your thoughts about the interplay of Luhmans system-theory and postmodern approaches such as hybrid or network organizations. that would be very interesting - looking forward to a new video :) greetings from Austria
Hi, great video, helped a lot, but where did you get your information from ? Tried to look it up in your book and did not see it, can you point me to some articles please ?
I pulled it from a variety of sources like textbooks and journal articles. I didn't cite any particular research because systems theory is in most books on organizational theory. But, years ago, I first started reading about it in Peggy Byers Book: www.pearson.com/us/higher-education/program/Byers-Organizational-Communication-Theory-and-Behavior/PGM791.html
This was great, I've been trying to figure out systems theory for days now, since i heard about it, everyone kept using these unhelpful allegories and examples.
Systems theory is a way of thinking about and viewing how organizations work. It is useful to describe and organizations. It is a way of looking at organizations. It's not one of those theories that organizations typically implement like the way they'd build an assembly line. However, I read an old article in Fast Company about the John Deere company that might be useful. The article talks about "complexity theory" but it's a related theory to systems. Chaos Theory/Complexity theory was build on top of systems theory. It just sounds more edgy. The article is a good illustration of what a company looks like when it moves away from an assembly line toward more systems thinking: www.fastcompany.com/35717/john-deere-runs-chaos
Thank you so much for this video, it is so well explained and informative! Could you tell me the difference between Systems Theory and Living Systems Theory? And do you have the original references you used for this video? Thanks!
My Theory of Organizations teacher basically handed her class over to you because of quarantine cause she doesn't want to give online classes so thanks, lol
Hi! love how you explained the theory well and easy. I would love to ask for a reference for the major concepts. and is systems theory of organization the same as the systems of organization?
I'm wondering if you could apply this as a theoretical frame for viewing the internet, to some degree I see it as a complex social organization/system? it has feedback loops, permeable boundaries, holism etc.
Do you have any videos or information on the difference of open vs. closed systems strategy? This video greatly enhances my understanding of open structures and their benefits but what about closed? Thanks!
I don't have any videos on closed systems. In fact, some people argue that they don't exist in reality and it's only a theory. From my view, I find it most helpful to think about systems in terms of degrees of openness. Some have limited and constrained boundaries and others have comparatively open boundaries. You may have Googled it already but I would start there if I were you and see what people say about the debate.
Normativity is perspective dependent in "nature".that's why perspectivity is modeled nomatively. Organisation structures and thus systems are typically positive. Organisation goals, vision, mission and tergets are typically positive because they are objectively and subjectively achievable with in a given space, time and consciousness framework. Organisation dreams, beliefs, thoughts, and wishes fall between normatism and positivism cause some are physically achievable and others are just mythical and illusions cause their achievement can not be traced any where in space or time, but achieved only through consciousness.

Great job breaking down the systems theory. I learned more in this 10-minute video than the hours I spent reading three chapters in my textbook!
Great. I'm glad the video was helpful. You from USC? I used to live in the LA area. Have a great summer.

Hi, Denise. Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad the video was helpful.
nice one sir!!!
i'd want to ask a question(just curious):-
Ques- what exactly is the 'machine' of classical theory and 'organism' of systems theory?
The terms machine and organism are metaphors for how people view an organization. People coming from the system point of view, think of organizations as if they are biological organisms. Our view of the company/organization changes the way we make decisions about it.
