Good stuff man! I’ve seen Emperor twice. Went to Milwaukee in 98 and they played about twenty minutes and had no keyboards for their set. Saw them again in 99 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

"Symphonies..." was my entry to Carcass but "Necroticism" will always be my fave! I´ve seen them so many times live, the best one was with Tiamat, Gorefest, Cannibal Corpse and Death in 1994.

Great update Simon. Imprecation was released October last year, so nice to see it finally arrived down there as well, killer album. Waiting for my Voidceremony, looking forward to that one. Nice OG score as well. Cheers.
Some killer collection additions in there. Was at EMPEROR too but sadly missed the performance being stuck behind the merch desk all night. Heard nothing but good reviews though. \m/
Funny, I like the soft side of the Häxanu guy - I think the outro of their first album is gorgeous and his other project, Ringarë - Under Pale Moon is fantastic. The fast & furious stuff feels too much to me but may give "Totenpass" another listen in your honor...
Another OG in the bag… Carcass are untouchable, particularly that early era. Sweet score on that LoM… looks like I'll finally be getting on, waiting on arrival… I don't mind the Immortal touches… if they go Judas Iscariot next time all the better, haha.
Necroticism is a top 3 DM record for me all time. I would almost be tempted to say the only thing that would make it better would be if "Tools of The Trade" was on the record, great song, but on the other hand why mess with perfection.

I've never heard of those bands before Simon but Carcass sounds familiar to me I can't remember if I've heard of their music before. Have you heard of a band called make them suffer. Simon? I think there from Australia the band has a female keyboard player and singer they sound really hard 🤘😈
Thanks mate! I know of Make Them Suffer, it's a bit too metalcore for my tastes. Carcass have been around since the late 80s and helped pioneer grindcore and goregrind in the UK, so pretty foundational.

You need more goregrind in your collection. At the moment, the goregrind scene is expensive with bands; Purulent Remains, Gestation, Mephitic Corpse

I've heard a handful of friends say that Necroticism is the downfall of Carcass and it just reeks of try hard bravado opinion.
That is a total baloney statement! I suppose if you were there at the time and expect pure grind, maybe, but I definitely wasn't.
