Watching "Forged in Fire" has me screaming when someone tries a water quench, just use oil, a water quench has much more chance of making the blade brittle! Anyway, it's slightly off topic but it's what I think of when I see/hear quench! I do love how after watching 15-20 episodes of it myself and everyone else suddenly feels like a master blacksmith!

I worked in IT at a community college where no one except me knew how to use remote tools. So they walked everywhere and did everything manually. It drove me nuts but after I got everything set up properly, I did notice how we were all gaining weight. I guess it's just taxpayer money you're wasting working inefficiently, right?
Just to add to the struggle, the vil that t90 points out at 26:23 seems to be deleted by 26:36, which then culminates in blue deleting the wall just to add more vils to that side. Ah, so painful...

@@JamieAubrey well, not quite. While the game enigne itself (Advanced Genie Editor) is the same as it used to be, the assets are developed towards more modern systems. So the system requirements are certainly higher than they are for a game that is *actually* 20 years old.
Still, if your laptop is less than ten years old, you should be able to run a version of the game. You don't have to buy the most modern version of Age of Empires II. They still have the older version on Steam, I think.@@IschmarVI

Hilarious game I respect the endgame from red at low elo you don't get to micro units that much and it is very fun. Suggestion for us filthy casuals watching, at the opening to the dark age it would be awesome to see a little tech/bonus summary for the civs on the side. Fun fact, Lithuanian is one of the oldest and hardest languages to learn. For many native speakers english/spanish/german/french exams are usually much easier too in comparison to Lithuanian. I believe Czechs are using this word too. At 0:56 you say it more correctly too :D
Hi T90, villager here, a trough is for both food or water. Considering its location on the forge however, you are probably right that it is for cooling worked metal. Incidentily that is also a trough, it is something called a "quenching trough," and quenching is done either with water or certain types of oil, and helps maintain positive properties of certain metals.

Watching this game gives me a little bit of hope, I've done 4 placement matches so far and of course got my ass handed to me every time. But i think I'm faster than blue. I'd be satisfied if as far as I got in this game was just being a low elo legend. Guess I need to pick one civ and learn it. Good civs for beginners could be a nice vid. What do you mean by "close to no hotkeys" at 500 ELO?! I almost don't use hotkeys at 900 ELO. They probably don't even know there are some. :D The only ones I use is Shift to build more and occasionally QQ for house, I don't remember more and not planning to, game is meant to be fun not hard work memorizing this stuff. :))
Unfortunately, there is no match on Baltic against Magyars for Convict according to AOE2 insights. I have to assume that the desync basically wiped this match off the record unless this match was played very recently and the record is yet to update.

People playing all-in defense pretty much always beat me, I end up throwing all my gold at them and having nothing left and the market abuse at this kind of elo is egregious so the sale prices are through the floor. I just get mentally exhausted and after a while of spamming trash at them I get annoyed that they don't finish me off and I give up.
The 540 eAPM is from rapid clicking unit production. You can click about 10 times a second if you are skilled, looks like he was doing about 9 clicks a second. Now you know.

OMG! I watch t90 while playing the game and guess what: I just played against convict parallel to watching this. He definelty became better. I was Hungary and we stalled out due to him walling me in with 3 layers of stone walls. But as hungary I bascially can spam upgraded hussars. And I got so tired (long day) that I liteterally forgot how to counter and just kept spamming and spamming. In the end he won and I resigned with "finally" and "Bg" in chat, yet he was very friendly tho!
I used to never build lumber camps, at least not until much later, because it seemed like a waste of wood when the TC serves that purpose, and also I didn't realize there were lumbercamp upgrades. I also didn't realize how important farming was and often didn't do it. Mostly I just used cheats. Then I was bored and thought, I should learn how to actually play the game.

I was playing a game a couple weeks ago and was finishing a guy off when my computer crashed. if he had resigned when it was inevitable I would have gotten the win, but because my comp crashed I got the loss lol
disregarding balancing wouldn't it be actually cool if idle villagers would get some kind of small buff for the next thing they gather the longer they were idle up to like a minute. Then they gather ressources 10% faster for up to 30 seconds or something. Some kind of resting bonus.
It brings me so much joy to watch T90 predict low elo behavior. Right or wrong, it's always funny.

The more you lose, the more likely you are to be matched with a lower ELO player, thus the easier your games should become.
