I love using this weapon to strip away armor. And the grenade makes quick work of groups of ads. I use it on Nidus, larva the enemies together, and then once I kill a few, throw the grenade. Very awesome weapon! And at least fits the theme of Nidus for being an infested weapon
yeah but you only need 1 ammo left in magazine to trigger full reload, then you can stop reload to reload again, only halfway through and repeat. For unknown reasons sometimes magazine will also refill itself to full, don't ask why, be grateful it happens I guess?
I remember building this years ago. It's good, it was good even before this mod. But, ultimately, what ruins it is the reload mechanic. No auto-reload is just a killer downside when there are so many other good weapons in the game.
If you haven't already try cascadia empowered on a pure crowd killing kuva Nukor setup (using galvanized mods instead of the non galvanized versions that'd be better for primer builds) it's stupidly fun
@@chucktownattack dont worry about it, someone tested and it is just base damage, not damage amplification, it does more damage on target with how many cold proc are active on it.
i like this method of "buffing" old weapons. they can make a mod that makes the weapon perform stupidly amazing in a very specific way, without breaking other weapons, and tailor the mod so it isn't too broken.
Might I add: you might want to add "catabolyst" in you title or tags. I was searching for this video and your 2 very old guides showed up while this vid didnt
Well, I WAS gonna skip out on this mod, but seeing this convinced me I want it. Helps that I was already planning on farming Cascadia Empowered for my Kompressa Riven.
Catabolyst is too unreliable to use without primed sure footing. Every little thing interrupts the reload animation and prevents the grenade and this augment from functioning.
There are other ways to be stagger immune too, it doesn't HAVE to be psf. Basically any status immunity works, like Voruna passive, Lavos passive, having overguard should even do it too
@@torunsmok5890yeah and many melee attacks prevent any stagger effect, I know for the lession double attack normal allows me to walk through thumper waves without knock back or knock down.

@@justinfarias255 if a weapon can't do damage without needing to remove armor or addin mirage eclipse just shows the uselessness of the weapon. hell you can make the stug kill by removing armor, this argument is pointless
That augment used to be strong, then DE nerfed it into the ground, why nerf a mediocre weapon like catabolyst when incarnon secondaries exists. It's sadly now in the mastery fodder pile
Always wanted to love this thing, but man! Does it have a lot of useability issues: - Punchthrough doesn't work for the beam - Primed Fulmination doesn't work on the grenade - Multishot doesn't work on the grenade - No auto-reload is just obnoxious considering every other weapon in the game has it and you constantly have to remind yourself to press reload. Could just have been "kill X amount of enemies with beam to charge the grenade toss", but they had to get all fancy >.> - Hidden timer matching the reload time that makes it so if that time passes and THEN you try to throw the grenade, it'll just not come out and the weapon completely reloads Yeah, it's always been a very powerful weapon but it's just a very awkward weapon to mod and use >.
Try it with Mag. The bubble treats the thrown magazine like a projectile, making hitting 3 enemies pretty easy.

The grenade counts as a last shot, so you can use the mod that doubles the damage of the last shot

You missed on a few updates ago when this mod let the Catabolyst not only do easy red crits, but even hit the damage cap
