    *It is a good detector for the beginner, gets good depth it found a 1853 half time at 7 inches deep, and it is a rugged machine, only draw backs is the control housing is not waterproof and the pinpoint is not accurate, but other than that it’s an amazing machine it's helped me find and save some history and it made me upgrade to an AT-PRO which I'm also getting from the same place.*

    Guys one question, between at pro and omega 8000 wich one you think is better?

    • @RAdams
      @RAdams  10 лет назад

      The Omega 8000 and AT Pro are very similar. It's depends on where you plan to hunt. You can get a rain cover for the 8000 but if you want to hunt in the water up to your neck or snorkel with it get the Pro.

    @6:14 mark....Right before you go and fish out what you found in your sand scoop...what are you placing your Metal Detector on? Is it some sort of gadget to steady it from falling off your thigh? (I'm assuming it's some sort of gadget because your MD is steady and never falls/wavers when the waves come in. ) :)

      It works fine for me. My normal saltwater setup is always the same Pro Zero mode, sensitivity as high as I can get it about 3 bars shy of full then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. But keep in mind TAKE OFF THE COIL COVER (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus I use divers grease on all the O rings for the coil, head phone connectors and battery . Let me know if this helps or not. Good luck

      High Plains Prospectors- Metal Detector & Gold Prospecting Supply I found everything in the area so there is no need to bring your metal detector. I haven't been to the keys though so I can't say for sure but there could be some beaches that are off limits because of salvage claims or

    I don't know much about this. My daughter is a kid who wants to start doing it. Is it better during low tide on the beach? What about after a hurricane?

    • @RAdams
      @RAdams  9 лет назад

      +Bill Brown I like the low tide because I have a better chance of spotting and getting out of the way of things that can eat or sting me. I don't hunt on the dry sand much unless there has been a storm that has removed a lot of sand making it easier to detect the deeper stuff. Visit www.treasurenet.com and search the beach and shallow water section. There is a lot of posts from helpful and friendly people. Good luck to your daughter and happy hunting.

      @@RAdams Thank you so much for the information. I took my AT Pro to the shore today and it was a nightmare. It rang for every thing and nothing, I dung for so many things to find an empty scoop. I used the same settings, Pro/zero. I even knocked down the sensitivity and it was still ringing; change frequencies and still nothing. I'm on the east coast, jersey shores area and it was raining so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. I bought an equinox 800 just waiting for it to come in, hopefully that won't give me a hard time. Thanks for your reply buddy, preciate it.

    Hello friend, I have the same equipment as you, but here in Argentina, in the wet sand or in the water as samples, it is impossible to use my equipment, detect many false signals, it is impossible to detect something, try to discriminate and lower the sensitivity but nothing, do you achieve any special configuration? some say to use the menu "coins" xq discards iron or other garbage, how do you do?

      @@RAdams Hello! Speaking of which, it occurred to me to remove the stiker from the coil and it had a small hole! Just below the label on the left side that is near the cable, they forgot to seal it, lifting the stiker. I discovered! and seal with silicone, and also distrust the cable, the idea of grease is good! I set up Pro Zero too! The sensitivity that appears when it is on, I do not touch it! and the balance of the earth, in water or dry sand does not matter, gives false signals in the wet sand, could it be that there is more iron ore here than there? I decided to select coins! The manual says that discriminating iron, just detecting coins, metals and jewelry, would it be useful?

    I'm in between a Sea Hunter and an AT Pro .. and leaning more towards the Sea Hunter cause I was sicouraged from comments that AT Pro is not so good in saltwater and that also looses substantial from it's depth potential in the water. What is your experience? Hunting style is more or less like you in the videos .. mind you this will be my 1st metal detector (so clearly no experience here) and there is no agent in Cyprus whatsover of any brand so basically I need something reliable not to have fault probs as will be a real pain having to send it abroad. Thanking you in advance for your response.

      Panayiotis Sevastides if you don't have a dealer in the area to try out the AT Pro in your salt water then go with the Sea Hunter but plan to dig everything. Listen to some of the Tones videos I did and that may help you decide. Thanks for watching.

      @RAdams  9 лет назад

      Nicole Spencer From Haulover beach to South beach and both sides of Key Biscayne, Hobie beach and the light house side. With the AT Pro you get a good idea of what's there before you dig from the tones and the readings on the display. Check this video out ruclips.net/video/eoI9IEsFRNI/видео.html Also a friend of mind has a metal detecting store in Hialeah near Miami Lakes. Call 305 818 9844 and ask for Jose or Melissa they will let you try them out if you want. Thanks for watching and happy hunting.

      Nicole Spencer I own an AT-PRO also and it does just fine in dry and wet sand. I set the disc to 30 and I get no false signals ever. Plenty of trash to pick up but the machine is far from lousy. I haven't gone into the water though. It's outside my comfort zone.

    How does the AT Pro work around the saltwater? My machine goes nuts! Thinking about making my next machine an AT Pro.

    • @RAdams
      @RAdams  9 лет назад

      ***** Hi Dan, My AT Pro works great on the South Florida beaches. I have heard all of
      the problems at other salt water areas and I even had a problem in Puerto Rico on the west side on Rincon beach (it went nuts) But keep in mind take off the coil cover (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus use divers grease on all the O rings. Anyway my normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. Let me know if this helps or not and thanks for watching my videos.

    crusher1944, how is this BS? Are you suggesting the metal objects magically 'swam' into the sand scoop, or was he just jabbing aimlessly at the sand and hit lucky, or possibly he changed the internals of the MD to a PI machine to make it look like an AT pro? Trolling at your age is just plain sad.
