Excellent video! Looks like you are along the causeway there...I remember me and my pals hunting that same area using our Fisher 1280X back in 1984...we were pulling up silver coins and gold rings like mad back then. Glad to see the area still has some great finds to be made! HH&GL! - Jim
R Adams We were water-hunting back then we'd wade out up to our necks at low tide scooping half-dollars up en masse. I remember my buddy Kevin having a couple of guys motor up to him in a johnboat and ask him if he was digging "clams" there. He answered: "In a way, I guess..." Yea I hunt mostly beach-hunt Cocoa Beach and New Smyrna beaches nowadays, Ocassionally I get down south to the old treasure beaches of the Sebastian Inlet. Stuff still coming ashore there after a storm, but in minuscule amounts. Good luck in your search! - Jim
Spiaggia molto tranquilla, dalle vostre parti le temperature sono estive,da invidia, ancor di più a vedere ragazze in costume addirittura con il cappuccio da Babbo Natale!!..Complimenti per anello gran bella caccia Video molto bello. Ciao Endriu.
Endriu Detectort Thank you Andy in Italy. I will translate to English. He said Very quiet beach for your area with summer temperatures I envy you even more to see girls in costume with hood from Santa Claus!! Congratulations for very good hunting rings and nice video.
98 degree water temp.. great scenery.. and good finds... what in the hell am I doing in Wisconsin looking at frozen lakes and winter jackets? LOL GL and HH Van Jr.
PullTabMiner1122 Thanks PullTab, The winds have been around 15 to 20 from the east so Miami beach is rough. I went to a local Key on the west side and it was calm that day.
The one thing I appreciated the most was how you edited out the hunt and just shown the rinse and your find. Unfortunately though, lol, there are some girls that aught to keep their butts covered but just don't know who they are. Continued good hunting sir!
Thank you for this vid, just found you today and subscribed. Best views I've ever seen detecting!! I live in MT and don't see much other than a moose or elk. Keep up the great work and thank you again:)
R Adams You are welcome, I forgot to ask you if you rinse your equipment down after a hunt with fresh water? Stupid question I know... I don't like salt. Happy new year by the way:)
brian70Cuda Yep I flush everything with the hose when I get home. Also, I forget but I saw that someone even has a 5 gallon container with a pump in the back of there SUV.
The 5 gallon container sounds like a good idea if you are not close to home. It might just be me but dried salt water on my hide feels sort of like antifreeze, not good. Good luck on your hunts and I'm looking forward to seeing them.
I just got my AT PRO after work yesterday. GOT it together, went out around my place to start learning, found two coins in 30 minutes. They were just pennys, just like my detector said they were. this AT PRO is so easy to use once you watch the video that comes with it.
All right your hooked. The AT Pro is a great machine. Try to start using it in Pro + Zero mode and you will hear the difference of things a lot better.
you seem to find a lot of nice stuff and you keep the beach clean as well and the view is in-figging-credible!! I got a metal detector and should probably start using it!!-(
High Plains Prospectors- Metal Detector & Gold Prospecting Supply Thanks Josh sorry you couldn't meet up for this hunt, maybe next time your in the area.
i'm glad you dont talk, read the detector number and then say got it, the say fill in the hole every time.... that is the most heavy duty sand scoop i have ever seen
Some of the condos and property owners believe beachfront and access points are private property. Inn on the Beach, on the southern tip of Longboat Key is one of those, I've wanted to detect that beach, lot of celebrities have stayed there, Cher for one. As you probably know areas covered by water are termed public though. Heard tell Anna Maria Island beaches supposedly give up a gold coin occasionally. Siesta Key near Sarasota is kind of a ritzy beach.
Hahaha you sly fox. Seriously though, I didn't think you could use the AT pro in salt water. Excuse my ignorance as I'm from Perth Western Australia. Cheers.
Thanks for the reply back on the questions. To answer you first question, no it is not me but is my pen name on the net. I was a detective the same time the series was playing and watched just about every program during the run of the series. I will check out the scoop with your friend and try also locally where I am and on the metal detector, I will have to settle for something less expensive with my beer budget ! - LOL/ Thanks.
+Don Johnson It was a good TV show with great visuals for it's time. It is a pricey machine. Check the forums on treasurenet.com for a machine. Good luck and thanks for serving.
I love your videos man. Brings back the old days when Dad took me metal detecting with him, it was a blast. Now I'm 41 and just bought my first metal detector. Anyone looking for an amazing hobby give it a shot you'll get hooked. Just wish I had the same background when I went 😛
TNikoli it didn't leave me the option to reply but In Florida almost all the beaches are open to hunting but you should always check with your local authorities first. Some of the well known rules are, Don't dig in into the dunes or around sea oats. Don't go near Cape Canaveral for obvious reasons. Don't hunt in the water on the the Treasure Coast from Sebastian down to Jupiter there are many salvage claims to old ship wrecks and you will be arrested.
Numisaccent I know what you mean and those early morning hunts are great especially when it's calm and at least one hour before low tide. Good luck and happy hunting.
Hey R Adams, thanks for sharing. I just started watching your videos and I think they're really great. Quick question though, what bag or container do you use to put what you find in? Sorry if this question was already answered in a previous video.
My normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. But keep in mind take off the coil cover (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus use divers grease on all the O rings. Let me know if this helps or not. Good luck
Was that a freshwater lake or was it saltwater? I live in Florida too. I have an AT pro but with high mineralization the saltwater can get a bit wacky with it, so for in the saltwater I use my Excalibur. Also nice Scoop, never seen the Howie, looks like a TRex, Stavr or Stealth
Hi Brian, That hunt was in saltwater on the west side of Key Biscayne. I haven't had a problem down here with mineralization, but there are two things I would say to all AT Pro users in water. 1st remove the coil cover, sand and air gets trapped in between and will drive you nuts. 2nd make sure to use divers silicon on all rubber O ring head connections including the battery gasket. What part of Florida?
R Adams I am in Palm Beach County. I mostly hunt Palm Beach, Jupiter, Juno, Lantana, Lake Worth, Delray, etc. I love the beaches in Miami however, and best of all people in Miami LOVE to where jewelry to the beach (its all about the bling!). I do scuba with the Excalibur, AT Pro mostly for my land beach stuff.
FYI? Magnet Fishing DOES NOT CATCH COINS, Gold Or Silver( Most jewelery) Mostly just Steel, Iron for Scrap Dealers to buy and Have to Collect/Catch at least 500-1,000 Lbs to be worth while.. Or your might catch some Lawn Furniture, Bikes and even a Lawn Mowere or a Watch that has a Metal Clasp..... Best of Luck..! When you Get 4500? Buy a Decent Metal Detector and shovlel and Pointer..
G lalonde Just a swim suit and a long sleeve white T shirt so I don't fry in the sun. The water around here during the winter is in the low 70's and in the 80's during the summer.
Enjoy your videos--what setting are you using for the AT pro and do you ground balance it in the saltwater? I just got one and plan on using it in Lake Ponchartrain near New Orleans looking for jewelry from the 1800's.
brewster102 Hi Brewster. my normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. But keep in mind take off the coil cover (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus use divers grease on all the O rings. Let me know if this helps or not and thanks for watching my videos.
Two questions: What model and brand metal detector are you using and approx what did it cost ? Secondly, where did you get your aluminum scoop with a magnet and pole ? Thanks and enjoyed your videos and have thought about this several times.
+Don Johnson Is this the real Sonny Crockett? The detector is the Minelab CTX 3030 and depending on extras they start around $2,500.00. The scoop, is the Howie Scoop. It's hand made by Howie here in South Florida. It's all aluminum and very light. He has stopped making them for now but you can ask him.. Search Google + for the Howie Scoop and send him a message and tell him I sent you. Good luck and happy hunting
+Edmond Richmond The least expensive one I have is the AT Pro but I'm not sure how it would handle the minerals in the sand on Hawaii. Try asking in the forums at www.treasurenet.com someone will know and suggest a good detector for you. Good luck.
I've seen your video with the Sea Hunter and the Garret AT Pro. To someone starting out and purchasing their first beach detector, which would you recommend and why?
Tom Stewart Tom, There is no simple answer to that question. They both work very well but they are two different animals. The Sea hunter finds deeper targets but plan to dig everything, It was hard for me to tell the difference in tones. But a plus for the Sea Hunter is it can be used for diving up to 200 feet. The AT Pro's max depth is 10 feet and that's fine for me in three to four feet of water. A plus is you will get a good idea of what's in the ground before you dig from the tones and digital display. So the AT Pro is a better choice for me and my hunting style. Try searching the forums for the pros and cons of each. One of my favorites is www.treasurenet.com/
nice video. I have an AT PRO. Do you have any issues with it submerging it? I have been reluctant to try it. Also what type of headphones are you using?
My normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode, sensitivity as high as I can get it about 3 bars shy of full then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. But keep in mind TAKE OFF THE COIL COVER (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus I use divers grease on all the O rings for the coil and head phone connectors and battery. The head phones are the blue water proof ones from Garrett. Let me know if this helps or not. Good luck
Thanks for your reply. I went out this morning and hit the local beach. I hit an 18K 5.17 gram wedding band after about 15 minutes. I have two excal's and the at pro has been in the closet. i was at the same beach with my Excal for four hours the day before. it was rough and I could have just missed the ring. It was strange to get the ring with the AT Pro. I just ordered the water proof headphones fro Kellyco. I am coming down to your neck of the woods the first week in June for a few days to hit Miami beach. i am looking forward to it. I will be bringing my At pro with me. Thanks again and Happy Hunting
Thomas Pinta Thomas, The scoop I'm using is called the Howie Scoop. It's hand made by Howie here in South Florida. It's all aluminum and very light. Search Google + for the Howie Scoop around $175 thanks for taking the time to watch. Happy hunting.
That was the Howie scoop that is no longer made. Howie stopped making them and now I'm using the Extreme scoop by John in Texas here is a video I made to demo it ruclips.net/video/fXDkWUfYGlk/видео.html
Joseph Garcia I'm not sure if Howie is still making them. It's hand made by Howie here in South Florida. It's all aluminum and very light. Search Google + for the Howie Scoop around $175 thanks for taking the time to watch. Happy hunting.
Wow dude! Nice! I am getting a Bounty Hunter metal detector and i hope i become someone like you! Keep up! Subscriber number 2071 :D Just subbed! Also liked! Ur my inspiration right now!
nice video sir! quick question, I just got an at pro and I'm dying to get in the creeks. is there anything special I need to do to the machine before submerging in it water? I'm afraid water will get in through the plug outlets or something. didn't know if I need to silicone anything or not? thanks
I don't hunt fresh water but the is what I do: My normal saltwater setup is always the same Pro Zero mode, sensitivity as high as I can get it about 3 bars shy of full then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. But keep in mind TAKE OFF THE COIL COVER (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus I use divers grease on all the O rings for the coil, head phone connectors and battery . Let me know if this helps or not. Good luck
thanks so much for the response, yes it absolutely helped me. wanting to get in the water very badly but didn't wanna ruin my machine. thank you very much. BTW lovely videos and new subscriber here!!
God damn ! I went there once, we stopped at the beach either to drink something or to eat a sandwich since we were coming back from there, but it started raining like crazy so we left. I'm from Canada and went to Florida once, it's crazy that I recognized this place !

LostandFoundMetalDetecting LOL I'm picturing cutting a hole in the ice for the metal detector like they do for fishing.

Nice movie best regards from Joop Holland.

It's a tough gig you've got there in Florida

better check that stretch again...I think I saw a gold doubloon slosh out of your scoop when you were distracted for a moment!
Thanks Greg, I think you are right
Bikini and Santa hats are a good look. I also enjoy Christmas lights on a palm tree. Ahhh the Florida beaches are calling me.
Look like an amazing hunting spot
That's one of my favorite beaches to hunt. Thanks for commenting and watching.
R Adams ever trying below head level in water
Wish you would announce the VDIs. Always good to hear how objects ring up, including trash
Great videos RA. I enjoy using my Excal in the Palm Beaches.
Tony M
Thanks Tony, I picked up an Excal II last month and I'm in the process of learning the tones. Happy hunting.
That lightning strike always scares the hell out of me
Grenades4Days Sorry about that I subbed you to make up for it. Do you play BF4 ?
R Adams No worries man, the lightning strike just comes out of nowhere. Yes, I play BF4 but I don't do RUclips anymore.

wadoman699 Thank you
Great video top finds enjoyed watching
Yeah 1 gold per 80 pull tabs is about right. Nice way to earn a couple hundo's though!
High Plains Prospectors- Metal Detector & Gold Prospecting Supply Thanks Josh sorry you couldn't meet up for this hunt, maybe next time your in the area.
Sounds like a plan!
I think I might go detecting down the beach, I like what your seeing/finding.
+Graham R Dyer LOL someone has to do it
+R Adams Yes it must be hard.
I like that there's not nonstop chattering.
Shelley Hinch Thanks Shelley I just let the camera run.
05:30 I'm liking that Penny ;)
i'm glad you dont talk, read the detector number and then say got it, the say fill in the hole every time....
that is the most heavy duty sand scoop i have ever seen
That was a nice find at 5:25 of the video :)
nice!! I guess no use in me hitting that local beach now lol
ps38292 lol I think I cleared out most of the pull tabs. Thanks for watching.
The two things I do miss, treasure hunting and check out the honeys on Bradenton/Sarasota area beaches
***** Funny, I was planning to spend a few days over there this year. Are any areas off limits?
Some of the condos and property owners believe beachfront and access points are private property. ***** Thanks Lloyd, a lot of great information. I almost want to delete it. Hopefully no one reads the comments.
9:39... AWESOME! ;)
Beautiful place and nice finds.
Jiri Miketa Thank you
Nice finds.
Tom Benz Thanks Tom
Hahaha you sly fox. Seriously though, I didn't think you could use the AT pro in salt water. Excuse my ignorance as I'm from Perth Western Australia. Cheers.
Chris Barrett Cheers Chris, I have heard that before but works for me here in South Florida
Those were a couple of nice...... Rings!

Seriously? You can't hunt the treasure coast because of salvage rights?
That's bs.
5:23 Now i get it, metal detecting is only bonus ;)
***** Metal Detecting around the Beach's can be very rewarding.
we all know what the best finds were !!! :) ….. and 98.6 too funny !!!!
6:45 one ring to rule them all;)
Looks like the AT Pro did good in the saltwater, nice ring...
+John Saldivar It works good here, thanks John
Your 2nd good find was at 5:24!
Your videos make me want to move to Miami! Too cold in Colorado!
Thanks for the slow mo :D
the bikinis are always nice but I prefer to water detect with minimum detraction. That is the reason I choose to go from 6 to 9am.
Numisaccent I know what you mean and those early morning hunts are great especially when it's calm and at least one hour before low tide. Good luck and happy hunting.

Always amazed me why people break off the pull tabs. I had a step daughter that put them down the sink disposal.
+Bill Simpson I know and the new ones are designed to stay on the can.
I can see why you like to metal detect there!
5:25 I never saw the penny lol
I would think you would be a leading candidate for re-engineering pull tab to can retention
THOSE PULL TABS WERE DESIGNED TO STAY ON THE CAN ,I FIND IT HARDER TO DRINK FROM THE CAN WHEN THEIR NOT ON THE CAN , !....////
Hey R Adams, thanks for sharing. I just started watching your videos and I think they're really great. Quick question though, what bag or container do you use to put what you find in? Sorry if this question was already answered in a previous video.
Greed - UOMacro I use a fanny pack, I show it at the end of this video ruclips.net/video/YfoGmB-4pIg/видео.html thanks for watching
R Adams Right on, thanks for the info. I'll check out that video and your other ones too. ^^
To tell you the truth, I was hoping to see more bikinis and less pull tabs.
Pull tabs can be treasure also. For example you can donate them for medical treatments for people that are less fortunate.
Thanks I'll look into that I have been saving them for some unknown reason

my at-pro hates ocean water....what do you set yours on to stop the chatter? you change frequencies?
My normal setup is always the same Pro Zero mode then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it. But keep in mind take off the coil cover (sand and air get's in and will cause noise) plus use divers grease on all the O rings. Let me know if this helps or not. Good luck

Brian Feeny Wow your just an hour away from here and yes you are right about the bling. I've been thinking of getting a used Excal.
FYI? Magnet Fishing DOES NOT CATCH COINS, Gold Or Silver( Most jewelery) Mostly just Steel, Iron for Scrap Dealers to buy and Have to Collect/Catch at least 500-1,000 Lbs to be worth while.. I understand a permit is required in FL to metal detect offshore?

What kind of clothing works best for you when hunting in water? Seasonal of course to say the least.

How many metal detectors do you have? and which is the best beach/water detector?
+777dingo I have tried 5 and currently have 2, the AT Pro and the Excalibur II. I'm using the Excalibur more lately but will be getting the CTX 3030.

What scoop is that you're using?
Thomas Pinta
Thomas, The scoop I'm using is called the Howie Scoop. It's hand made by Howie here in South Florida. It's all aluminum and very light. Search Google + for the Howie Scoop around $175 thanks for taking the time to watch. Happy hunting.
Some how I missed the item before pulltab #57...😉
why do you wear the gloves? sun protection?
+Circadin I imagine lots of sharp metal bits could be under the sea. wouldnt wanna catch tetanus..
Nice video and great find on the ring.
What scoop are you using? Where did you buy it?
That was the Howie scoop that is no longer made. Howie stopped making them and now I'm using the Extreme scoop by John in Texas here is a video I made to demo it ruclips.net/video/fXDkWUfYGlk/видео.html
@@RAdams thanks a lot!
Say excuse me, where might I be able to purchase a Howie Scoop ?
Joseph Garcia I'm not sure if Howie is still making them. It's hand made by Howie here in South Florida. It's all aluminum and very light. Search Google + for the Howie Scoop around $175 thanks for taking the time to watch. Happy hunting.

Hello! I Want your opinion. Is the Bounty Hunter gold digger good for me to start hunting like you?
At pro?
nice video sir! quick question, I just got an at pro and I'm dying to get in the creeks. is there anything special I need to do to the machine before submerging in it water? I'm afraid water will get in through the plug outlets or something. didn't know if I need to silicone anything or not? thanks
I don't hunt fresh water but the is what I do:
My normal saltwater setup is always the same Pro Zero mode, sensitivity as high as I can get it about 3 bars shy of full then I do a manual ground balance in the water that's about it.
Have you ever found a Spanish Doubloon?
Penfold8 Nope, not yet. It's on my bucket list. But if I do, you'll see it here
the women make up for all the soda metal found
Stinking Lincoln lol
IS this on the way to Miami Seaquarium !?
+tarond57 yes and if you look you can see the gold dome.
God damn ! I went there once, we stopped at the beach either to drink something or to eat a sandwich since we were coming back from there, but it started raining like crazy so we left. I'm from Canada and went to Florida once, it's crazy that I recognized this place !
And it was two years ago
You show the pull tabs up close so can you do better when showing the good stuff. Not a very busy beach.
Mr Adams, why do you go in the water in a suit and tie?
pull tabs suck, nice video mate
+Derek Lang They do suck and they sound like gold.
