  • I will take you on a cab ride along the two decks of my model railroad. I have cut out tunnel time and crossed over tracks on the upper level a couple of times again to save time. I have lots more work to do.

    It's a great layout & when your scenery & detailling is complete it should be an incredible cab ride. Great job so far!!

    Very nice ride on the Eastern Slope Railway! But, l do prefer to see more of an outdoor type of scenery with lots of trees, buildings or bodies of water etc. Well done!🚂🚊👏💯

    Very enjoyable to watch, especially without music.

      Thanks Robert, I try to keep the music to openings and credits and let the trains do the talking.

    And the extra side truss bridge to accommodate a curve, the railroad would use several deck bridges end to end instead.

    Nice ride, thanks. There's some very good civil engineering here and I see what you mean about lots left to do. Are you retired ? What a great hobby we have - as you demonstrate very well

      Thank you Martin for the kind words. Yes I am retired however this layout was started in 2006 well before I retired. I completely agree this is an amazing hobby.

    Good track work. Somebody must own a straight edge. When you making an updated video?

      And personally I don't need to see the inside of tunnels.

      Hi Robert, thanks for the complement. I posted an update about 5 months ago called eastern slopes railway update and it does have more tunnel time. I plan on another one in the spring (I hope) after some club members have a chance at an operating session.

    great video cab ride Richard, what camera are you using? Dave

    • @ve6rla
      @ve6rla  7 лет назад

      Thanks, Dave. I am using a GoPro Session camera loaded in the front of a gondola with a D-cell battery behind for added stability. The camera is a 1-3/8" cube and fits on a flat car as well. The gondola allows for the camera to ride on the sides and for added weight to stabilize the image.

    Not enough tunnel scene's...it's repeating itself...

    • @ve6rla
      @ve6rla  6 лет назад

      I have plans for an updated cab ride and will include more tunnel action, however to appreciate the layout fully I feel there needs to be views in both directions and this will cause some repeating.

    Nice layout, what about stations?

    • @ve6rla
      @ve6rla  2 года назад +1

      That cab ride was done in 2017 and since then two stations have been installed one on lower deck and one on upper deck as well as an oil loading facility. I hope to do another cab ride or combo shoot later this year.
