Hello Mark, I love your instructional video! I do have some questions before I buy this set up that you have: -Did you have to upgrade your fuse to support the TM275LHW add on to the NSS12evo3s? -Does the transducer plug directly into the back of the Simrad unit on connector #2 without any adapters? Thank you so much in advance, Ed
Hey mate this video was a fair while ago but I have the exactly the same set up and even to the point of the same boat. But I can’t get the low chirp option and that was the hole reason I brought this transducer and help you be good
When you are setting up your sounder, go to advanced settings or settings and select the source / input for each channel. By default all sounder views will auro default to one channel, the high chirp off memory. You can run one channel per window on your screen.
Hello Mark, I love your informative video! Hi Mark, I just purchased the Simrad NSS9evo3s and the Simrad TM-275LH-W (part number 000-13770-001). the cord from the Transducer has a Low Frequency port with pins that is piggy backed to the High Frequency port that has 5 pins. How did you connect the transducer ports to the Simrad NSSEvo3s unit? Thanks
Just a question. I am looking at the 275LHW but only fish between 10 and 40 metres depth. Do you think the 275 is overkill for that type of fishing or dod you find it good for those depth’s? Thanks in advance 👍
Hey Mark, I’ve just picked up my new boat & I’m running the Simrad NSS EVO 3 16 with the Airmar tm275lhw. When I have it on charts it doesn’t show the depth & I get no images when on down scan or side scan, do you know what would be the reason for this? Regards Grechy
Hey man, unfortunately I don't think that transducer does side and down scan. For that you need the 3 in 1 off memory. So just use the traditional sounder view with chart next to it. The high / wide works better than the low frequency in just about all situations. The side and down scan is more for Estuary situations tbh but the high chirp also works well there.
@@BaitBallin thanks mate, I’m not the sharpest tool when it comes to transducers. I’ve got another dumb question, can I hook up the 3 in 1 & the Airmar to the same EVO 3 & switch from 1 to the other ? Or would I need 2 sounders?
The 275 will take up the two available sockets. You could how ever also have 3 in 1 and just plug it in when you want to use it yes. Alternatively it's another unit yes....good luck
On your simard what have you set your transducer your running as. I see on my it doesn't say tm275 just a bunch of others an high chirp low chirp etc if you understand what I'm talking about haha
Great video, thanks mate. I searched on google and found other brand TM275LHW, like XSONIC and Furuno, a lot cheaper than Airmar. Are they the same ? Just the OEM products ? Do you know if can connect XSONIC/Furuno's on SIMRAD NNS EVO 3 12'' or not ? Thanks again.
Hey xsonic the same thing, no different and yes they are just as good. Just be careful to buy the right one that's compatible. Sometimes there are adaptors you can buy, but better to get the right one first time. Yeah the lhw is a nice unit
@@BaitBallin Hey mate, me again. Yamaha dealer installed the SIMRAD NNS EVO 3 12'' and TM275LHW for me, but sounder function only ECHO works, and nothing on DOWNSCAN and SIDESCAN, is that correct ?
Hi Mark. I read that others prefer the TM265LH instead of the TM275LHW for better bottom structure/ fishing definition., with the narrower cone angle. Your thoughts on this? Also, when using the TM275LHW and seeing fish on the sounder, the fish are not likely to be underneath the boat with the constant 25 degree wide angle cone. How do you locate the fish when using the TM275LHW when they are appear on the sounder? Cameron
HW is very much a game fishing unit and is by far the preferred unit for these duties. To find bait and fish etc. When I'm out wide trolling I don't even try to look at the bottom. Just the top 150m or so of water column. So it simply depends on what your main focus is. Nothing is perfect for all.
@@BaitBallin Thanks Mark. For the 275 LHW, and the wide cone angle (for HW), how do you locate the fish that appear on the sounder, with the high likelihood that these fish / bait may not be directly underneath the boat?
When I figure it out I will let you know. When I see them, they bite. I've honestly not had any issues with this inshore or offshore. I'd say it's an advantage tbh. Most done angles are just actually too narrow
@@BaitBallin great. Thank you. Is there any value in marking fish on the sounder that are up high / middle of water column and then track back to get closer to that marked fish?
Hey man quick question if i grab the same set up that you were running on the bar crusher do you loose the side scan and 3d scan because your running the 1kw transducer, hope that makes sense Thanks in advance
the question is whether there are the right ports free to run the standard transfer. I believe you can run both, 99% sure but please confirm with a dealer
@@BaitBallin sweet man on your current set up did you have more then 1 transducer also did you have side scan and 3d scan available through the 1kw transducer
Hello Mark. How well did this transducer hold bottom whilst underway? How well did this transducer articulate bottom structure and density of the bottom ocean floor whilst fishing? Cameron
Hey holds bottom well under speed, awesome up until about 100-150m the detail tapers off. Good for marking bait on or near the surface when game fishing. Low chirp I'd a little disappointing while under way, bur useful when drifting. Overall a good unit. Very versatile for range of duties, from reef to offshore
@@BaitBallin Thanks. Interesting to learn more as to why / how the Low Chirp is useful for drifting? I know you do not have your BC anymore, but hypothetically - if you had your time over again and had to choose between the single channel TM185HW or the double channel TM275LHW, which ducer would you choose?
It's still go with same transducer because the high / wide chirp mode is very similar to the 185. So you still have the extra benefit of the low chirp. The narrow cone / beam on low chirp just doesn't work well at speed, where the wider angle on high chirp does.
hi, love your videos, quick question, with your sounder flush mounted in ally boat - did you have to run external gps antenna? or did the units one still work surrounded in ally.
Hi Goz, does the live scoop work in deep water like say up to 100m ? as i have asked sales people and they yes yes no problem but i dont believe them as they are not fisherman ?
Good video mate! Hey is there a brand of that transducer mounting bracket? I have a barcrusher too and am getting ready to mount my new TM275 but the spacers supplied dont look like they will give enough of an angle to get it level..
275 is a low/ high wide. So it has a 25° cone. Not good for deep water. A TM260 is the older narrow cone, non chirp tranny which I have found to be slightly better than the the TM265(chirp) transducer in water over 300m deep.
Should have mentioned that its not wise to run 1kw Airmar transducer out of the water for long periods of time as it damages the unit as per the warning label attached to the transducer when you purchase it :)
this answered everything I needed to know mate. Much appreciated
Pretty good piece of gear, far beyond my fishing capabilities!

No upgrade to power fuse. You can plus into either channel ad they both have the same plug and configure either channel. It's very easy.
