Making Brad Pitt's Watch Strap from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

- This week I'm crafting the leather watch strap worn by Brad Pitt's character Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I saw this movie recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, being a leather crafter I knew I had to recreate the watch strap for my next video.
The watch used in the movie is a vintage Citizen 8110 Bullhead.
I'm using a Seiko SKX007K Automatic Diver watch for this project.
The leather here is a Tan Montana side 3-4oz thick I picked up from Tandy Leather Factory a while back, which matches the color of the strap in the movie pretty well.
The hardware on the strap is 22mm ZULU nickel plated buckle and loop from buckleguy.com
Thread used is Ecru colored light-medium weight waxed polycord from Maine Thread Company.

Hi, nice video and end product! I'm a professional watchsmith and I specialize in Japanese watches from the 1960s and 1970s (and 80s etc). I'm going to be restoring the correct Citizen bullhead model that Pitt wore in this movie, and I am looking for the movie-correct strap for it. Are you up for making another one? I'm also looking for some custom straps to be made.
Hello! Thanks for watching my video. I tried to get as close as possible from reference photos and after watching the film. I could easily make another strap. I don't know the exact lug width dimensions, but if you know it I could easily replicate the strap/cuff again. Nice, enjoyed the video. Those bund type straps are perfect for smaller vintage watches with thin lugs (e.g., 18mm). They also work well with really thin watches. I own quite a few of them which were made in Germany and Poland.

Detroit Mint are producing replicas of the original Citizen watch
Maybe worth checking out since getting a original in good condition is nearly impossible
The only difference is the cuff in the movie was cut to nearly exactly the same width as the watch. Yours is considerably wider. I like the thinner look.

Should be veg tan an thicker leather for the cuff part.
Agreed. I made a custom one for someone recently and doubled the leather. Felt much sturdier and more appropriate for the overall watch.

I do and for much cheaper than most of not all people. I have a video showing them on RUclips. It's 11:21 long. There is a link to my ebay page where I sell them. It's EXACT to the movie strap.
