Let me show you how easy you can create a waypoints flight without your drone turned on. Your done, like the DJI Mini 4 pro can even be packed away and you can still create a waypoints mission. The only thing you need to have is your DJI RC 2 remote turned on, and the drone turned off.

@@MK-Creator DJI says that waypoints can be created also on the DJI FLY app but it doesn't seen to be the case... have you tried?

Same, I had no idea. Even when you mentioned in your other video, that wp’s can be set using C1 without programming it or thinking you had to reprogram. Like I said earlier. Your videos are extremely detailed in every aspect leaving nothing out and not just saying it, showing it in a well versed way, but not making it seem like you have to forward the video because it’s slow or dragging. It’s so detailed, it’s worth watching in entirety and because of all the detail, you can easily save the video and revert back to it if need be😉👍

Tried this this morning and it says the aircraft has to be connected & Flying - to your knowledge as this off-line waypoint planning function being disabled with a recent firmware upgrade?
I also find that it is not possible with my DJI Mini 4 Pro with latest firmware
I’ve tried it in April 2024 on Air3 and Mini4 with the latest updates… it doesnt work. Anybody else tried it recently?
I've found same on my mini 4. Pop up msg says aircraft not in flight. Way point creation unavailable or words to that effect
So when I tried this I can get to the waypoint function, but can’t actually create waypoints. The map is greyed out and I don’t get a gps signal.
My method has been to turn the drone on, set a waypoint then I can turn the drone off and continue making waypoints.
So either this has been patched for some reason, or my RC2 can’t get a strong enough gps signal in my house without the drones antenna on.
I ‘think’ you’d need a wifi connection to the controller for the map to show up. Possibly worth checking …

@@MK-Creator I fly most the mountains and the woods. I fly my routes first. Because I don't know the heights of the tress. But pre planning a flight on the controller is really nice. I will think of a flight plan to try it. Thank you again. Nice jacket by the way

Dear everybody. My company bought me a DJI Mini 3 with screen RC. I need to set up this new toys a predetermined path thus I can download all photos and videos together with the associated coordinates to be shown in Google earth to make a presentation to the VIP investors. Quite a challenge, right? My restrictions are: 1) can't request another new, more advanced drone. 2) can't use third party app like dronelink or litchi to establish waypoints flight. So, what kind of solutions available to achieve the task? Many thanks to all possible advices!!
Well, tried it this moment on a new DJI Air3 with RC-2 but the RC-2 sais something like "Drone does not fly. Waypoint cannot be added" (Translated from german "Fluggerät fliegt nicht. Wegpunkt kann nicht hinzugefügt werden".
So obviously instead of doing things better, offering more convenience for their users (like adding SDK support), they made it even worse ...
Hi Mats! Thanks for another great tutorial. A question about this... Is it also possible to set Wapoints "on top of each other"? Example: I start at Waypoint A at 10m, fly to Waypoint B at 10m. Waypoint C should be identical in position to B - but the height should increase to 20m. According to the scenario, there should be a vertical climb of 10m at the original Waypoint B. Greetz from Germany!
Is the WPs on the lefthand side of the RC just a Mini Pro 4 function? I only have the take off option there and I can only access WPs via hyperlapse.

I get a popup message. Aircraft not in flight. Unable to add way point regardless of whether the drone is powered up or not?
So, this seems to be for a Mini 4. I can't see the waypoint icon on my Mini 3. Is this correct or do you know of a way to do it on a 3?

Someone said waypoints were available across the entire line of drones. My Mini 2 does not have the function. At least not in the DJI Fly app. Maybe in 3rd party apps via the SDK?!?
Waypoints are definitely not available on all DJI drones. Some have support via 3rd party apps as you mention :)
Litchi is a great app for waypoints on Mini 2
I might add that using Drone Tweaks app on iOS or Android mobile device enabling FCC radio signal strength mode for us within the EU. Using RC2 controller requires activation before each flight.
Furthermore at least on RC-N2 controller u're getting fully autonomous waypoint missions. Disabled in EU due to EASA rules and regulations. Works like a charm IMO ❤️🙏😂
Is mini 3 capable of doing so?
Hello, I am a DJI Mini3 Pro user and I was wondering if I could fly the device on a route I prepared in advance. For example, it will go to an altitude of 75 meters to a point 50 meters from the take-off point, then fly to the second point at a specified distance. In your video, in the newly released mini4 pro, this feature was added under waypoint and the user was offered the feature to perform these operations. As far as I read, waypoint for Mini 3 pro can only be used in hyperlapse mode. If there is another method to create waypoints and routes for Mini 3 pro, I would appreciate if you can inform me.

@@MK-Creator you must have been connected to a waypoint enabled drone at least once for enabling the function.
Once done, it remains there until the app is deleted.
Much more convenient to plan on a tablet. 😊

Man, thank you so much. It’s hard to believe DJI doesn’t let owners know this. What else don’t they tell me? Learning now that using litchi or whatever programs isn’t supported and hinted that they never will is making me regret this mini 4.
Any chance there’s a ‘trick’ to use anything but DJI fly on the RC to plan routes?
The SDK is not available yet that is necessary to be able for third-party apps to communicate with a drone. Hopefully it will be unavailable in early 2024.
@@MK-Creatoris it not odd that it’s not already out? I would imagine it’s not difficult or time consuming for DJI to produce.
And wouldn’t you want to motivate people to get your latest product?
With my luck the mini 4 pro will be the worst DJI ever 😢.
I've tried setting the way points a few times. I fly back to almost the original place from w.p.1 but when I press go the drone pauses and says obstacle in way, even when there is not. Could this be because a bad satellite connection (18 ) ?
I would say it has to do with light conditions in most cases.
Can you do this with the mini 3 pro as well?
I do not think so because M3P has only support for waypoints in Timelapse and you can only access that when the drone is turned on

Turn off RTH when the drone is close to You and land it manually. That will be safer for Your fingers.....
I switch to sport mode when close , turns off sensors , when ready to catch apply full decent down on control stick
