I've been looking for someone to show me how to go into gospel drumming.. I'm currently a worship drummer.. Well I'm gona check out your site thank you for the lesson
Hey Carlin. Amazing lesson as always! I've been meaning to ask, what interface do you use to record your drums? Checked your video description but didn't see it there.
Thanks man, ive been drumming since 2nd grade of elementary and now im in 12th grade and i am a self taught lefty drummer thst plays on a right handed drum, open handed, and coordination is so hard for me because though im a lefty but in drums only and im using my right hand in all that i do, my form is so confusing because when i ghost note my left is stronger than my right but my right is in the snare, its so hard to criss cross to make a single chop, what advice can you give me with that bro, btw im a new subscriber, also a church drummer i want to improve bro, i hope u can help me with that, love ur vids! From the Philippines 🇵🇭
Hello sir, I've a question for you. Which method did you use or which learning program did you follow to master the drum rudiments with all the bulk of rudiments we're to master 🤲🤲🤲😭😭
Maaan this is so difficult for me. I grew up in a old school baptist church so I didn't even know what chopping was. What's a good way to start getting into chopping? I don't even want to do any of the crazy stuff. Just add another dimension to my musicianship.
@@KTBD242 I like to consider myself a professional drummer in the sense that I definitely can drive a groove and create patterns that other gospel drummers don't but I never was exposed to the chop thing. Just grooving and playing for the emotions of the song. I love the sound of chops when they fit the context so part of me loves it and part of me hates it. It feels like a different muscle that has to be developed.
@@carlinmuccularAppreciate the reply. I came up only seeing grooving drummers and listening to old blues or RnB music so I have a love hate relationship with chopping. I just started finding myself wanting to explore 32nd notes and I'm starting to feel a plateau in a sense. I can groove for days but I feel like learning this would give me another skillset for when the time is right.
Use a metronome. Start off slow. As you get comfortable gradually increase your speed. Practice practice practice. The more you play the better you’ll get until one day you’ll look up and be like; OH SNAP!!!
Morning Carlin, could you tell me where the extended version of this is on the website. I have the Concepts Chops & Creativity module. If it's not there I'll go get it where ever it is. Thanks Carlin. I'm getting better everyday.
Sure! It’s under “All Drum Lesson Modules.” It’s #13. Thanks for your support! You can also email me from my website with the “contact” tab if you have questions!
@@carlinmuccular Mostly a pocket drummer is the drummer to be👍 With a bag of ghost notes that are most definitely not chops. Fan question: has a man of your young age seen Pulp Fiction the movie? Where there is that chopper reference? Peace 🖖

Gospel chops is a name that the church put on old fusion combinations of Vinne, Weckyl etc. Its just chops. The church steals everything..

Great video! I'm curious what the huge looking dampening ring on your floor tom is?
It’s the Remo Sub Mufl system. Check it out on their website! Helps my floor tom sound like a cannon! (But it’s not everyone’s preference.)
And thanks for the compliment!
Pls continue the video on how to share it around snare next
We love you u d best
