Him laughing at Aemond clearly shows that he wasnt as innocent as they wanted us as viewers to believe. Maybe if they showed a scene where he attempted to apologize or atleast get to know Aemond as a adult then I would have been more saddened by his accidental death

If you’re talking about their ages, in the world in question, maturity and adulthood are very different to our 21st century ideas of it. 14 is considered an adult, and that’s generous. Most are married when they get their first period, you know how young that is?
At least Luke is a teenager and Aemond is close to him in age. News flash, young people (teenagers) have relationships with each other. They even, le gasp, have sex, or do sexual things. It’s almost like puberty makes people more horny or something, who woulda thunk it?
And obviously almost all fanfictions about them don’t have Aemond kill Luke dipshit, otherwise it wouldn’t be a love story. It’s taking their characters and making a story that results in romance. You do know what fanfiction is right?
Finally, Aemond killed Luke *by accident* and was horrified by his death. It’s obvious he was far more invested in Luke as a person, taunting him, getting reactions from him, and this manifested in some idea of revenge. But when actually faced with the prospect of him being dead he is horrified.
Aemond was messing with Luke, trying to scare him. Trying to make him feel the same helpless fear that they made Aemond feel when Luke cut out his eye and no one defended him. If he truly wanted him dead he would have killed him immediately. He had ample opportunity, his dragon literally circled around Luke for an extended period, scaring him. He chose not to.
It was Luke’s dragon attacking Aemond’s that triggered it to go after the dragon, and Aemond resisted when he realised Vaegar’s intentions. She’s literally a seasoned war-dragon who’s killed hundreds with battle instincts. Using her in the manner he did was foolish for Aemond, but not purposeful.
It’s extremely easy to take the core of their dynamic and make it into one fuelled by romantic and sexual attraction. Aemond is clearly obsessed with Luke and fixated on him, he burned with the idea of basically having Luke at his mercy, the way Aemond felt at one point. Can you really not understand how fixating on the idea of having someone on their knees at your mercy can be seen as a twisted manifestation of attraction mixed with bitterness and a desire for control?
But it seems your hang up is about the fact that they’re boys and not the actual dynamic. The types of people who write romances about two boys? Regular people. Because regular people also happen to fall in love with other boys. What century are you living in? 10% of the population is literally not straight. At least. Get educated and stop saying stupid things, it’s embarrassing.
