This Masterpiece will always be Yvonne's song...... even interpreted by a great artist or not so great artist...it's forever her song....

I've heard so many versions of this song. Some sang it more beautifully, some hit notes unbelievably, some just had voices like angels. But nobody....NOBODY does it like Yvonne. She moves you. She puts so much into it. In the original video from the '60s or '70s. Whenever. The way she does the, "...I'd back away." Nobody can match that emotion. Wonderful.
I have loved Ronnie Spector for many Years and always thought Yvonne Elliman looked like Ronnie a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice, I love you YE you are special..
I was fourteen years old when I heart this song in 1973 for the first time and was very impressed by the way Yvonne sang this with so much emotion. Today June 2020, at the age of sixty-one I feel her emotion right through my ❤️ and soul. Thank you so much Yvonne 🌹

I always enjoyed Yvonne's version of this song a lot better than Helen Reddy's version. I love Yvonne, I saw her perform live with Eric Clapton back in the mid-70s and was fortunate enough to be seated around the 4th or 5th row dead center bottom floor. Eric was phenomenal as usual, the mid 70's is one of my favorite periods for Eric Clapton and having Yvonne with him on these tours was the cream on the top. God, I miss those days!
