1 ups to all the percussionist out there. I was in a band when i was younger and was in love with the drums. I will always show love to all percussionist out there as we are the ones who get everybody hyped to move and feel the soul coming from the music we deliver.
It is really great I feel like they can always add a little more low end but I guess they’re tryna stay true with how it actually sounded while it was being made which is cool too
Zaytoven is one hell of a composer! Its crazy just hearing this trap music turn into contemporary jazz with a change of performance style. One talented group he assembled here.
@@rjgthuro at its core trap music is essentially modal jazz with 808 drums so i can sort of see what you're getting at but just running up and down scales isn't playing like a jazz musician. theres no form approach to the solos, no development of motifs, and the phrasing could use tons of work. the originals sound jazzier bc zay got those blues licks nailed, like on peacoat

This is real dope. Im a future fan, but Im glad Zay got his chance to be creative and shred some keys. Love the vibe and would live for him to release some stuff like this.
Damn...he really is the black bethoven....dudes a musical genius of this era in my opinion. No one else has real instruments consistently in their beats - its like orchestra with a beat line.
Zaytoven really knows how to grab an opportunity when he sees it. I can see how he has gotten to where he is. Most people would have just canceled the show.
Been listening to Zaytoven since way back. This right here really showcases his talent. Enjoyed every single moment. Some seriously talented musicians. Thank you npr and Zay-tiggy
Wow! Zaytoven is the truth. In fact, if Future had shown up, I would've skipped this video. The last song, 'Mo Reala' , brought tears to my eyes and I don't quite know why, but I felt something very powerful in that crescendo.
To fill in for a no show, this music was so wonderful to listen too. The cords on that last song wow. The flutist jammed. This concert was amazing. Thank you. Your NPR tiny desk was a big stage today! Buying this song.

that flute sounded soooo clean, the mixing on these shows is incredible
It is really great I feel like they can always add a little more low end but I guess they’re tryna stay true with how it actually sounded while it was being made which is cool too
they def have some incredible setup for the musicians.
Was that solo not a tribute to "Maggot Brain", or is it just one's own hoping?!?
Zaytoven is one hell of a composer! Its crazy just hearing this trap music turn into contemporary jazz with a change of performance style. One talented group he assembled here.
lol this was ok but theyre nowhere close to even decent jazz musicians
this isnt jazz...it's still hip-hop, just will more soul cuz it's live
If you really listen to a lot of their runs there's a ton of jazz influence. I just wish their audio mixing would've been more balanced.
