Follow our journey as we renovate an abandoned ancient old farmhouse we bought and creating a off grid homestead by being self-sufficient growing our own food and creating an orchid for fruit, managing our own fire wood with our two woodlands to give us free heating and hot water and making every thing we need in our renovation like the doors, windows, floors, staircases, Kitchen, panelling, bathroom, porch, and many more projects as I'm a Carpenter & Joiner using my skills to build this dream which you can see in lots of our videos we have all ready loaded up on our channel and also we will be sharing our crafts and also Tracy will be doing all the soft furnishings in our farm house on our homestead. So come join Tracy and I Budo on this amazing journey and way of living.

Don’t you love the Timbers. So beautiful and then we have the treat of seeing the workmanship on the barn door. I often think of the hands that have fashioned our lives. So much love and hard work.
Yes we do as well jean thank you for watching and a happy easter to you 🥰🐣
Everyone knows wood comes from trees.I find it fascinating seeing a tree trunk being prepared and done so professionally by Budo. Happy Easter both x
Thank you Phil happy Easter to you to buddy 🍺🤠👍🏻
I love your motto. Life in every breath. Even if you're moaning in pain like me sometimes, I always say thank you for every breath.
Budo, you are amazing to watch. Reminds me of some of my brothers and nephews. There is nothing like what you did with your own hands. It's your baby, and you know how to care for it. It is a great feeling to sit back and think, I made that. Same for you, Tracy. That chutney looked great, and you are very skilled in the creative world, too.
Have a wonderful Easter.❤
Thank you Peter as you know buddy you have one life you can't live it twice so have fun and be happy now 😀 have a great Easter to mate a the best Budo 😀 👍🏻

Budo I am sorry about the porch😮😢 but I am sure you will make it even better😊
Thank you Zlata yes he will 🤗
You could saw toothpick and I'd still find it a satisfying watch, Budo. A bit of a bugger about the porch. I bet you said a few choice words when that happened. Keep on keeping on guys! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John yes I was a bit mad at myself but I'll fix it when the weather warms up buddy 😀
Ooh woodland pictures in the opening section, I feel at home😉
i thought you might like that Darren 🍺🤠👍🏻
Beautiful timber. The smell in your kitchen must have been wonderful with the chutney making ❤
The timber is beautiful 😍 and yes there has been some lovely smells coming from the caravan kitchen 🤗xx
Hi Tracy, love the look of your chutney. Yum. I made beetroot chutney and tomato relish this year. Nice being able to process home grown produce.❤😊
It sure is Susan and that sounds yummy too 🥰😘🐣
Since the lovely porch was damaged accidentally, consider moving all those building materials away from the front of your home to an discrete area on the side so that the vehicles are parked in a parking area and the materials are on the side of the house. I would enjoy seeing the front of the house in one of the opening scenes. You do great work!
Hi Jeannie for us to move all the building materials from the front of the house were we need them for ease of access would take us around a week to move which would completely be a waste of time for us so we won't be doing that any time soon but thanks for your suggestion all the best Budo 👍🏻 😉
What an accomplishment!! All that wood sourced and hand cut- amazing! The kitchen is going to be stunning! The Chutney looked amazing- I wish I could have smelled it cooking! Very impressive work😊
Thanks so much Pam there is a story which Budo will tell you both tomorrow regarding the Chestnut 🙈 and yes the chutney was very tasty sweet with a hint of spice 🤗😘she you guys tomorrow xx

Glad you enjoyed it! Luminyam 🥰😘
So sad about your porch gable getting busted. It was so pretty. But I know you are able to repeat the process and bring that beauty back. I’m excited to see the kitchen make some progress. Hopefully your weather will settle down, but Springtime is a volatile time of the year. You never know what is coming at you! Crack on with what you can! ❤️😊
Thank you so much! We appreciate your comment 🙏 happy easter 🐣 to you
@@FrenchFarmhouseDiaries Happy Easter! ❤️😊
It will be beautiful.❤❤
Thank you we hope so 🙏
the slabs looks so nice , and Tracy , you got so much strenght lifting them :) you have a lot of courage redoing the porch Budo , happy easter guys :)
Thanks so much guys
Shame about the porch but I'm sure you will make it good, just loved the fleur des leys. Could just reach in and get some chutney. Loved the old doors with the dowels, I have an old window with no nails at all, just dowels, I love it, it's a reminder of old traditions now long gone, people say I should replace it but to me it's like looking at a masterpiece.
Hi Dorothy thank you and glad you enjoyed the video it will all be fixed in time 🥰😘🐣
❤❤
There must be something in the name Tracy. You work as hard as Tracy from Château de Lalacelle. She the mother of châtelan vlogger, Terry, if you haven't seen their vlog, Escape to the Dream. The two of you work like my mom did. Both your work ethic and stamina are amazing.
Budo, you know if you ever need a side gig in your dotage, you could mill lumber from your neighbor's woods. As I'm sure you're aware, the value, as determined by price, of the wood going into your home would bring most hardy men to their knees. Only the wealthiest can afford to have the finished product you will undoubtedly have throughout your entire house. From what I hear Brit expats say about the price of the poor quality French milled lumber, you could buy Tracy a new Range Rover. LOL!
Speaking of quality, we've all seen the beautiful master bedroom you created. I have no doubt that the kitchen will be done to the same impeccable standard. Tracy deserves nothing less. Both of you deserve all of the bounty you reap from your enormous effort. You have my utter respect and admiration for creating a masterpiece of the builder trade. Bravo!
❤ from TX!
Good morning rayn thank you for your lovely comment except for the part about that family at lalaclle we have nothing to do with them what you see on camera is not what you would see in real life as I have been with them behind the scenes and they are total different just look at there set up the son is a gay man living with a gay man he married but still living with mummy also what happened to Tony he was quickly despossed of by there boss the chateau owner for not fitting the narrative 😀 😉 any way glad you are enjoying our videos
@@FrenchFarmhouseDiaries You know, I've always wondered what happened to Tony. When I first started watching their vlog, Tony was there doing most of the work. Tracy and Terry were still in the UK. Tony was the reason I initially watched their blog. Then, POOF! He suddenly disappointed back to the UK on 'family business'.
I respect other people's privacy. I can understand wanting to keep your personal life private. It just seemed odd, especially since he's never returned for any sort of closure. Frankly, I miss seeing him. He seemed like such a quiet, gentle soul. He was always so respectful of Tracy.
So sorry that you stucco was damaged. The fleur d'lis was beautiful. But you will make another just as beautiful if not more so. Nice to see all of lumber milling. I couldn't agree more about lumber first, then firewood. Chestnut is such a beaufitul wood.
Thank you Sandy 😊 we will get it repaired ASAP xx
Dear Tracy and Udo,
Hello, there guys, another expat from the U.S. just have some trees cutdown at their Chateau, that maybe you could use, by milling it, it looks like a good wood, maybe you could use it, if they might sell some of it. Their vlog is Our French Chateau, Amanda and Lincoln. I love your chutney recipe, I’ll try it sometime.
Mary
Hi Mary thank you I just checked them out and the trees are rotten and look like beechwood so no good to us thank you 😊 all the best Budo
Yum! Homemade chutney!
Thank you so much
You both are incredibly talented and artistic. My husband watches your channel with me and comments on how beautiful your woodwork is and the attention to detail in your work. Its great that you guys do thing properly. Lovely job 😊
Yes I have made Cauliflower chutney. It was Yummy. All that cut timber would smell wonderful. When I lived on our property, we put a corrugated old water tank on it's side, cut the top off and filled it with split timber for the fire. When will you be tiling the kitchen roof? Love your chanel. Keep em comin. 🥰💓👋🌹
Hi Honey tea
Thank you glad you are liking our videos on the roof situation I'm hoping to get started back on it as soon as the weather picks up we have had rain 🌧 nearly every day for over 2.5 months I've never known any thing like it 😀 😄
@@FrenchFarmhouseDiaries Good luck, well done. I'm sure you'll get it done when it's safe to do so. Here in Australia we have had above rain fall for past 4 years. Not complaining but fearful when the draughts and fires come again. I prefer the rain. Love n hugs. :)
You should put a stain glass window in the gable
Hi Michelle thank you good idea but it wouldn't work as the ceiling inside is half way down the apex 🥰😘 all the best Budo
looks like another busy week.. shame about the render above the door noticed that in last weeks video but didn´t say anything, another job to do when the weather is right...
one question, why did you paint the end off the boards, is it just to identify your timber when it goes to the dryer?
Chutney looked very tast Tracy...
Have a good Easter
Robb Torremolinos Spain?
Hi Robb thanks buddy yes the latex wax paint is to slow the water exciting out the ends to fast and cracking the ends it a normal thing to do on wet timber and the chutney was delicious 🍺🤠👍🏻
love the music playing who is it ?
Hi There thank you we don't know who the artists are we have a couple of paid for music internet sites that are completely royalty free and we search through them and down load them to our desk top folder then try to match them to the video the best we can hope this helps all the best Budo
🍺🤠👍🏻
Maybe a silly question but is it a special paint you use for the end of the timber? And is it expensive to get it dried ?
Hi Richard its a latex paint for sealing the ends to slow down the drying and it costs here in France around 90 Euros per cubic meter mine is 1.3 cubic meters so 120 Euros buddy 🍺🤠👍🏻
