Back when you really had to have talent, & being able to dance was a plus. And the videos were fun to watch. Troop had the whole package, still got it.
True, but the 80s was the decade in which the early stages of lesser talented people getting famous began, and that was because of music videos. People who were not necessarily the best SINGERS or MUSICIANS were getting by with dance videos and advanced studio technology. I'm not saying this applies to Troop, but that's the case for some.

Songs of the 90's were about love, relationships ups and down, dancing, man just having fun and enjoying life...today's music is garbage barely any songs on real love ....not saying bad things weren't happening back then but today's music along with these videos have a lot of influence on this young generation.
To be fair, the 90s also gave birth to a tremendous amount of negative gangster themed hip-hop that was divisive and violent. There was balance, but a better example would be the 70s, or perhaps the early 80s. Just about everything was able to be played in front of your parents...even the current hits. The only dirty records were comedy ones.

Without a doubt one THE super-powers in turn of the century jackswing R&B. These guys had a uniqueness and completeness like no other group. Furthermore NJS was mostly a eastcoast thing but these guys totally represented the West Coast expression of it. They really dont make em like this anymore....
