When Wayne Cooper came with "feel it" at 2:07 he took it to the stratosphere & it's still there today, 11/25/22.

I wonder if they look back at the videos and just start laughing at themselves. It was what was cool at the time... brothers was in clubs tearing the dance floor up wearing spandex. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love the crap out of this song, I play it over and over. I love the guitar and bass line to this song. I met Larry Blackmon about 10 years after this song came out. I was on the air at radio station, Larry and two other guys from Cameo came in the station for a interview. I've loved their music since I was on Middle School/Jr. High. Cameo Rocks Your Box, Larry Blackmon is great! One thing I do miss in R&B-Pop/Top-40 Bands of today is they have taken the horns out of the music. This song had it.

Hell, I made a 90 minute cassette tape with this track on it back in about April of 1980 and I sometimes couldn't wait for this to play again, so I'd press rewind and play it again! Dig that!

I would love to hear some of the tracks you made! Dubb it to CD. I like alot of "Fast Funk" songs. I get tired of hearing this "quiet storm slow" stuff. Makes me sleepy. 💤

Forgot the Cameo was a lil flamboyant for their time...a bruh got to be comfortable with his masculinity to shake your pants😂 the arrangement is killa’ horns on point!

His name was Wayne Cooper. He was with Cameo from 1977 to 1982. This performance on the Cameosis LP was his last. It is not known exactly why he left the group but he was working on a solo project when he passed away from AIDS in 1984 at age 29.

@@OldschoolMusicJunkie hey bro,Wayne left the group in the summer of 1980, before the Feel Me LP was released. Stephen Moore replaced him for a short period of time until Charlie Singleton became a full member in early 81.

@@crenshawblaster3982 That was the only reason that he didn't get his music out. I don't know if he had worked on any of his own stuff but it was reported that he was working on his music when he passed away. My theory is that while he was still under contract, he was doing nothing, or he would have come out on his own immediately after the contract was up. That 's what I would have done. Or, paid to get out of the contract to leave and get my songs out. AND..... thank you very much for your input and being here......enjoy

SO f'king talented! The hip-thrusting makes me a little uncomfortable though. :/ I'm not even sure why.
