Lovely white pine. But I agree. Time for a bit of wire. This will also help with the backbudding as more sun comes in!

Thanks Jelle. Totally right and although i could wire it out now I am very aware that I want conditions to be absolutely optimum as this was a very sick tree. My primary goal tyhis year is a repot into a muchh nicer ceramic. Hope all is well :)

@@XaviersBonsaiRetreat All well my friend. I would consider wiring either late summer, IF you can keep it out of frost. Else, early spring. Funnily.. You know I do long-term videos: I am making one on restoring a japanese white pine, and many of the issues in your vid, I have discussed in the first part of mine too :). We need to do an in-person video weekend I think.

easier to trim with no need than to show restraint when there is great need. your pines look great. one of these days i will have to send in photos to see if i can get an appearance in your subscriber photos. love that acacia and i will be sure to give aussie bonsai bloke some semblance of kind-hearted grief for the name

Some great information there Xav. Sometimes bonsai is rather about not doing anything, rather than beein eager and hack it down too much. My JWP was repotted last spring and I have doing no pruning since. This year it was flowering on every bud. Now, the new growth is very small and I think I will leave it another year. Maybe just a few cuts in the top, but thats it. Love the pics from subscribers. I may take that one up in the future.there 🙂👍

    • @XaviersBonsaiRetreat
