After 5 years of practicing yoga, I started to believe that we have the power over everything. You practice empathy and boom your brain grows in that region. You control your ruminating mind and suddenly that part slows down. I feel that we are literally pure consciousness realizing itself. Humans are in a lower conscious state and realizing this makes you more in control. Observing gives you this mind power. Strange but logical.

This makes me proud of belonging to the Sanatana Dharma...🙏🙏🙏 our Mystic Gurus were actually ancient scientists who discovered a lot of truth about life and the universe itself....They already knew we had 9 planets, and they said the cosmic vibration sounded something like AUM and if you take a look at the recordings of NASA, the sun is more likely to sound like that...At that time when there was no technology, they already knew so much stuffs....They even knew that the Earth consisted of 8.4 million species at that time and today scientists says due to evolution over the years, the planet now consists of 8.7 million species...
Gurus told people that everyday they need to wake up early in the morning and pour water in the direction of the sun as the sun rises up early in the morning...And later scientists say that the rishis asked people to do that because early in the morning the sun has its ultraviolet rays that hits the water and it reflects in the eyes of the people cleaning them....And for so long, we think that we are worshipping the sun when it fact it was just a myth they made for people to just go there and practise it only to get their eyes cleaned...
They also discovered Pranayam....A form of yoga that makes you lead a healthy life... Studies have shown that if you practise Pranayam everyday, you may end up living over 100 years.... But you have to make it an everyday routine....While today many people are planning to practise veganism and being vegetarian...In ancient times, Rishis already knew that we aren't supposed eat meat because animals are carrier of parasites that aren't good dor our health...Which is why today catch many viruses and bacterias....And also eating veggies is more healthier than eating animals especially if you want to avoid having digestive issues, intestinal infections and also maintain a good weight...And it will also help you to avoid being violent by killing and slaughtering animals who did nothing wrong to you...For them it was a practical way of how to be more human as well...
And they said people are supposed to wake up early in the morning and inhale and exhale fresh air.... It's good for the sinuses....And people who sleep late and wake up late, will never have a good feeling when they wake up... Instead they will feel more lazy which is why a person is supposed to wake up before the sun even does and then practise yoga so that this person doesn't feel lazy and also maintain a good life by being a able to focus and have a controlled mind and emotions....
Massages and herbal medicines too were part of our culture but other countries started modernising them but both of their sources came from us...From the ancient Indian Civilization....While in other places on planet, people were still cavemen and living in the wild, in India people were already living a decent life...
They already had cosmology, geometry, mathematics, Science, art and music etc... Brahmagupta was a mathematician and cosmologist too...He was also the founder of the number zero 0...And most of our stuffs are based on planets...Which means they already knew all of these a long time ago...

Yoga is vast as an ocean.
Not even scratched the surface of more than 10000 years of civilization.

Keep your brain positively engaged with focus. Unnecessary thoughts dwindle down gradually, eventually. It is a process though. Thanks for elucidating that with a cute little animation.

PSYchadelicY0Gi 5 had you read Patanjali you would have known that the process of stilling the mind is not as straightforward as this naive demonstrated. I was almost laughing in awe when he compared yoga with dancing. it can merely be called relaxation or entertainment replacing one thought with a supposed entertaing thougt, thats what happens when original sources are understood in an non original context, the inherent "vision" of the culture distorted the entire theory. yoga is not just about quitening the thought , it's just one step in an ardous journey, if you are an Indian better lern from the source unadulterated.

    • @Stopskii3
      @Stopskii3 7 лет назад +4

      NFah43Bk
I have been meditating for a year now doing my own open minded research, just now reading the sutras of patanjali and they align so well with what i know and feel.
I agree that this explanation of "yoga" is not complete. Infact, this is moreso an explanation of simple beginner "meditation" for people who have zero interest in the complete metaphysical side of yoga.
Yoga is much more involved and in depth than this. But to give him credit, this IS the "science" of yoga. Therefore there isnt really any western science explanation for the Source/God union yoga rather than simple medition and stretching yoga.
Maybe if he did read the sutras of patanjali, this video wouldnt seem so ignorant. Maybe also if it didnt come from a western scientism point of view.

There are many "Methods" of meditation, and Vipassana is one if them. But the "objective" of each meditation method is "UNION of the SELF with the SUPREME".... Meditation is called DHYANA, ehich "may" translate to (may)
      Pondering
      Concentrating
      Musing
But in effect its goal is THOUGHTLESS AWARENESS
BTW Yoga means Union (of the self with the supreme)

I really like walking meditation. Focusing on each step works great at clearing my mind. I do variations of walking meditation such as walking backwards or with my eyes closed. I often walk so slow it isn't really walking because it just one step at a time and not a continuous motion, balancing on one foot at a time. It looks like I'm sneaking up on something like a cat hunting. Anyone else do walking meditation?

Great video, nice animation. It's amusing that you think you know how meditation started out, how they meditated - it's prehistory, right? Seems like you're projecting modern day Mindfulness approach on to the ancient yogi's. I think a statement that we don't really know would be appropriate. And, while it's fun to discover that meditation has observable effects in the brain, it should be pointed out that Meditation does not need to be validated by science - - it's validation comes from the yogic tradition itself - the writings, the culture, which is very rich and powerful.

What does "very energetic structure of your being", sounds like you are suggesting you can being silicon based life by meditating if I take it literally. You can definitely change the way your mind works, thought patterns and loops, but your phrase is vague and not helpful. Your probably talking spiritual, so there is no good way to describe it, because it is illogical.

Reference to the studies you are talking about would be great! @infognostica but great video anyways!

this video taught me some points I'd been taught but they are very well summed up in this. Like the teaching that reality is an illusion that is causing my anxiety. Like surely the ancient mystics weren't so pale, like skin bleaching cream was available in ancient India? Or am I just feeding these anxious thoughts :)

in all videos 1 - 9 the most important prerequisite in yoga is yama and niyama and the first goal is to get out of the prison of materialism and its influence and what is never told that yoga increases the intellectual power to a unconceivably level - but this what people do not want - they want sensations and sensations

AT 2 minutes is it the Amygdala that's mentioned the area of the brain the processes fear and anxiety? Because when I turned the subtitles on it came up "A Mcdonald" !!

Thank you. Would you say that the amygdala in Fighters who practice meditation are smaller then those who dont?
I've only found 1 study of 104 boxers and 135 mixed-martial arts by Dr. Sarah Banks suggesting a reduction in the Amygdala by 3-5%. However no suggestion of meditation

Interesting that fighters have less fear, but I'm not surprised because to be a top athlete, you have to be in a "peak state", or what they call being "in the zone". If you're a constant worrier there's no way you can compete at that level...it's the same with anything I guess.

Thoughts are not just stories. I like how all the thoughts you gave were negative too. If thoughts are just stories why not include good thoughts as well? Such as "I bet this will all be ok." or "This person seems confident & will likely succeed in their pursuits."... Negativity is not just something I thought in my head. Negativity is something that COUNTLESS others ADMIT with people around the world CONFESSING that they aim to attack, oppress, enslave, etc. etc. Whether it's Islamic Terrorists, Satanists, Christians, or political wars such as Drug Wars with squares threatening to arrest & kill drug-addicts or gang wars or race wars or sex wars...
